Autopsies
Autopsy Protocol
Upon receiving a body, you'll have to perform an autopsy to determine their cause of death. Head over to Guide to Cadavers to learn how. After you're done with the Autopsy, be sure to contact Security as soon as possible with the Details.
Upon the arrival of a cadaver, adhere to the following protocol:

Labeling
#Initial Examination: Position the body on the surgery table and document its condition with your autopsy camera.
As Coroner, it is your job to label the Morgue Trays whatever the body in the Tray has been already Cloned, is Uncloneable, or is labeled To Not Be Revived due to being an EoC. This is an incredibly important task, especially to prevent EoCs from being accidentally revived. Medical Doctors usually forget about it when transporting bodies to the morgue, so be sure to remind them that their PDA has a pen they should use.<br>
#Autopsy: Conduct a comprehensive autopsy. For guidance, refer to the Guide to Cadavers.
If the Brig Physician brings you an unlabeled Body Bag, be sure to yell at them in Comms, send a complaint to the IAA, <strike>call Centcom to use the BSA on them</strike>, and then use the Hand Labeller on it to properly identify it.
#Body Scan: Utilize the body scanner to compile a detailed report
#Preservation: Administer a few drops of formaldehyde into the cadaver's eyes using a dropper. This procedure ensures body preservation.
#Documentation: Formulate a summary of the suspected cause of death. Combine this summary with the photo, autopsy details, and body scan report into a single document. Name it as "<deceased's name>: Autopsy Report". For instance, "John Smith: Autopsy Report".
#Distribution: Duplicate this report. Retain a copy for your records and deliver the second copy to Security promptly.

Bagging
Additional Responsibilities
Most of the time you won't need to this because the Medical Doctors will take care of it, but if they are either too busy or too incompetent to do so remember to check the Cloning Lab for bodies being cloned, strip them and put them in a bag to prevent the revivee from seeing it. The Psychologist will thank you for this. <br>
You might also want to check the Morgue Trays for Unbagged Corpses sometimes.

Body Loot
#Tagging: As the Coroner, tag each morgue tray and body bag with the deceased's name and cause of death. If a body is being cloned, ensure their items are being safely stored so no assistant can snag his valuables. If the body is not able to be cloned, contact the relevant department to come and take the items back. If the body has contraband on it, contact Security to take it away. And for any identification cards, simply bring them to the Head of Personnel.
#Body Bagging: If Medical Doctors are unavailable or inept, ensure bodies undergoing cloning in the Cloning Lab are stripped and bagged.<br>This prevents disturbing sights for newly cloned individuals. Periodically check Morgue Trays for unbagged corpses.<br><br>

The Morgue is basically your own personal kingdom- few people stop by, and if you make sure to grab bodies from Cloning early, nobody will come by at all. You're still in a semi-public area,so be careful that nobody hears or sees anything suspicious.

As the Coroner your job is to inspect the cause of death of any bodies that grace the halls of your domain, the morgue. You're expected to generate a full autopsy on each body you receive (yes even borged ones). You're also responsible for all the un-cloned corpses in your domain, lest you anger the lesser spotted ghost.

Autopsy Protocol

Upon the arrival of a cadaver, adhere to the following protocol:

  1. Initial Examination: Position the body on the surgery table and document its condition with your autopsy camera.
  2. Autopsy: Conduct a comprehensive autopsy. For guidance, refer to the Guide to Cadavers.
  3. Body Scan: Utilize the body scanner to compile a detailed report
  4. Preservation: Administer a few drops of formaldehyde into the cadaver's eyes using a dropper. This procedure ensures body preservation.
  5. Documentation: Formulate a summary of the suspected cause of death. Combine this summary with the photo, autopsy details, and body scan report into a single document. Name it as "<deceased's name>: Autopsy Report". For instance, "John Smith: Autopsy Report".
  6. Distribution: Duplicate this report. Retain a copy for your records and deliver the second copy to Security promptly.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Tagging: As the Coroner, tag each morgue tray and body bag with the deceased's name and cause of death. Bodies that are EoC and hence unclonable must also be tagged.
This crucial task prevents accidental EoC revival. Note that medical doctors often neglect this when transferring bodies to the morgue.

  2. Body Bagging: If Medical Doctors are unavailable or inept, ensure bodies undergoing cloning in the Cloning Lab are stripped and bagged.
This prevents disturbing sights for newly cloned individuals. Periodically check Morgue Trays for unbagged corpses.

  3. Possessions Management: If a body is being cloned, secure their belongings against potential theft by assistants. If the body is unclonable, contact the pertinent department to collect their items.
Contraband should be reported to Security. Always hand over discovered IDs or PDAs to the Head of Personnel for cancellation.

You are entrusted with all the station's dead bodies. Help a friend out, or yourself, by misreporting the cause of death of a body, stuffing the morgue trays with other items so the light clone indicator light does not come on, and most importantly, stuffing your pockets with the deceased's valuables. You might also want to hang around cloning more often or take charge of watching over cloned personnel entirely, as the Geneticist will usually be too busy irradiating themselves to death to do so, anyway. This allows you to clone your fallen friends - but beware, as you will be immediately suspected of doing so. Additionally, your general medical access allows you to loot Medbay for supplies.

If you are a Traitor, consider getting an Agent ID. Passing it over every ID (including your own!) that finds its way to the Morgue before handing them to the Head of Personnel for termination will allow you to slowly build up more and more access without appearing suspicious by hoarding IDs. Similarly, a Changeling can use DNA obtained from permanently dead crewmembers as reliable disguises - those people are not coming back, after all. A Vampire can drain them of blood to stave off hunger without risking detection or suspicion.

People probably won't bat an eye if you drag a body bag places. Try hiding an unconscious or dying victim in a bag and drag them to the Morgue or a nearby Maintenance Access.

The Morgue is basically your own personal kingdom- few people stop by, and if you make sure to grab bodies from Cloning early, nobody will come by at all. You're still in a semi-public area,so be careful that nobody hears or sees anything suspicious.
