The Medical Department
is filled with jobs aiming to keep you alive and healthy. It's made up of Medical Doctors
, who heal you should you get hurt or die, the Paramedic
, who rescues you from danger when you get hurt and can't get to Medbay yourself, the Virologist
, who cures any epidemics and occasionally makes a healing virus, and the Psychologist
, who will attempt to help any mental health problems onboard. The Coroner
, and Geneticist
are less essential, but can be very useful when played skilfully. There's a lot of information to learn, from surgeries
, to what medications
cure what, to how to use this information effectively, but a good medical team is crucial to a smooth shift. Medbay can be calm and good for roleplay or devolve into chaos quickly, either from an infestation
, or if someone gets a little stab happy with a chainsaw
