  1. Spriter here. Also why not make spriting channel on discord public? So PR making people who are not yet git contributors can access it and request sprites
  2. Honestly, i would make toxins+scichem into separate job, only toxins sounds stupid (10-minutes long round, 1h 50m of greytide and nothing to do time) but even combined there is really nothing to do and no goal (rnd has goal, xeno has top tier slimes to help station, medical has nonstop supply of work, atmos tech can also has something to do if there is a new room to supply with air or a breach to fix, all roles on station either have 1) constant work (bs looking after heads), 2) final goal (rnd, even genetics) or 3) rp oriented. Toxin/scichem is neither of those (well toxins has little goal of research but we all know its nothing) There should be some goals/responsibilities to be implemented in those parts of sci, otherwise it would be stupid to make them separate jobs, imho
  3. Detective actually have ton of rp opportunities, and while sec hud for detective will make his life easier, if they had them by default it would distract some players from trying out really cool noir stuff.
  4. I believe the reason detective doesnt have a sec hud is because when detective walks and sees a big red W above a person he would start a chase which is not his job
  5. I know that waiting for botany to make rnd plants is frustrating sometimes, but having 1 less communication between departments is not good i think.
  6. I love the pink skrell, colour palette makes it stunning!
  7. Some big art is finished, commission for @Cazdon Torque
  8. A few quick chibis - Torque, David MacTavish and random Grey scientist
  9. Its been quiet in here huh.. While ss13 related art is getting done, i would like to share an art of a gta online character i made for a friend, maybe some of you will like it
  10. Its cool, open and effective, but it feels like a player modified it. Lack of tables and racks with various usually useless stuff on them makes it a bit "fake" for a roundstart layout if you know what i mean. It has to be a bit more cramped just to get back the immersion.
  11. Sherf is best thing i have seen today
  12. If only i had a hijack and a maxcap... If only...
  13. All of my best days started with me eating a pill that was named happy pill, so...
  14. I wonder how would that affect antags trying to do stealth. Probably way too much
  15. While the race specific traitor items idea sounds interesting, most of the ideas here are not well thought, either boring or overpowered. Its really hard to come up with good traitor item, even harder when you are limited by them needing to keep the aesthetic of certain race. For unathi it certainly has to have something to deal with their tail, i would suggest some kind of metal military tip that they install on tail, making tail sweeping a powerful ability but also it should give a text on examination. For diona, i have an idea of "breeding" - some form of chemical that they drink, and a diona nymph is born (controlled by player) , which shares the objectives with its parent. May or may not be able to grow into a full diona. For humans i can only think about the "i know the guy who knows the guy who knows the guy" type of item - which maybe works as a fax with syndicate access, or an item that gives direct communication access with syndi lavaland base, or its an item that reveals one ore more traitors 9nboard, or activates a "collaborator" for you, something like that. Those are just my ideas for fun. Anyway, for the idea to not be forgotten, you need to come up with 1 traitor item for each race, each should be balanced, interesting to use, and overall be adequate, it should be somewhat easy to code (not something that introduces a whole new mechanic just for that item for one race). Also keep in mind, that if one of those items is powerful enough for it to attract people to that race JUST so they can purchase said item when they are traitors, its bad item. All those items probably should be rather underpowered or niche, otherwise they would affect the game balance in a bad way.
  16. My favorite type if shirts
  17. After watching our government making different job tier lists to help us understand what should and should not do certain crewmember to be considered robust, I decided to make my own Tier Guide. Its probably not that great, but I dont care F Tier: Griefer with bear traps. Obvious tier - guy watched some funny youtube videos, his only desire is to turn people into Papa Johns, he somehow managed to not get banned during his first hours, and now he has access to: - Bear traps - he wants to watch people step in it. - Spray can - he wants to slip people. - Cleaning nades - haha mass slip. - You are really glad he is not an IAA. E Tier: Bad guy (not like... ok, lets call him Bald guy instead) Probably a very new player, but not absolutely interested in grief only. Be gentle, guys, he is learning! Peope don't stay long in this tier, either they learn and move up, or get bored and move down to F. - Station will fall into chaos with or without him, his cleaning speed is irrelevant. - What wet floor signs? - Makes even more dirt by walking on blood while cleaning it. - He is in bar fighting over stolen janicart. - He has never heard of nukies. He just tries to figure out how to make mop wet and clean floor. And unfortunately for you, he managed to do it. D Tier: Middle school diploma This guy is interested in learning the game, and he is good enough to at least slow down the process of station turning into a cesspool. - Cleans stuff, as fast as he can. Doesn't even forget about wet floor signs (not 100% of the time), maybe even figured out sign projector! - Knows about trashbag and it's purpose. - Answers calls, sometimes at least. - Gives his soap to drask mime (not because he should, but because this guy is a good friend). C Tier: I will take two. Good janitor. I am glad he is here. Might want to hire one or two more tho. - When he is not busy, helps cargo with crate delivering. - Always answers calls. - Knows that he is the one responsible for broken light bulb fixing. - Knows that he can use space cleaner instead of water for mop cleaning. - Cleans station from SSD personnel by delivering them to cryo. - Asks robotics for more janibots (Officer Cleansky). B Tier: Dr. Jan Itor Veteran of the janitorial force. Knows his every tool, and even more. Helps everyone, because true janitor is not here to clean floors, floors will clean themselves when they see him. Chuck Norris of mop, Albert Einstein of soap, Snoop Dog of trash bag. - Absolute force. No blood, dirt, oil or trash has a chance to lay on the floor for more than 5 seconds. - Gets all the possible upgrades from rnd: trashbag of holding, janicart upgrade, power tools, night vision hud of choice. - Helps cargo, helps engineers by repairing walls and windows, has basic medical supplies to heal crew, and so on. - Blob is there? He clears it, like any other regular trash. - Not only he picks up trash and used injectors, he also cleans hallways of any other items - places tanks and masks back into O2 closets, delivers clothes to locker room, tools to tool storage, etc. - Removes space ants (can be used later as a powerful weapon against wizard or SST, or any other threat that deserves this Janitor's attention). - Actually faster than janitor cyborg. - He is the first one to report xeno because he has enough time to clean and light up maints. - There is never a reason to call a Janitorial ERT when he is around. A Tier: Stop calling him Janitor, guy has a name! Since B Tier janitor is maximum robust janitor, this tier is occupied by those who manage to be NOTICABLE. - Wins a poker round against AI, condition of AI loss was that it has to make one (or more) of its cyborgs a janitor one. - Solo wipes out entire nukie squad. He is ex-military living simple life after all. - Has such a great personality that you want to make your workplace dirty to have a reason to call for him and see him again. - Chad - His cleaning grenades also heal all type of injuries and stabilize critical patients. - Chaplain worships him. - Honestly, this tier is basically nonexistant for janitors, its just a lot of roleplay, gimmicks and good use of imagination that come into play, combined with great knowledge of game, far beyond janitor tools. That's it, folks, i hope you like it.
  18. Interesting... i have not read all the other answers yet, so will address the first topic - finding nonexistance horrible. Well, life as we know it always comes to an end. You were born in the world that knows that it will die. All the thousands and millions of generations of people and other ancestors before you knew they will die. Thats how things work, and you technically should not find something, that uncountable amount of creatures before you have experienced, horrible. Only recently we started to create concepts of immortality. But still, even if you can stop dna degradation, what will happen with you? The more years you live, the more chances you have to get killed. After millions of years of existence, it would be miracle if you dont get killed in mass shooting or evaporated by random meteor. And those millions of years? They are still nothing compared to the lifespan of the universe. Even if you can somehow survive all the billions of billions of years up until the moment universe comes to its end, you will die anyway. And so what? What is the difference between 80 years and billions of years? You spent eternity not existing before you were born, did you have any problem with it? Of course, making your lifespan longer is a good thing, but its just a concept right now, and people who have families to feed cant afford funding those research. One day we will come to people living up to 500 years, then we will have 10000 years old people, but things will stay the same. Those people will have the same problem, and there is probably no solution to that problem. Consciousness is an illusion, it is just a set of atoms that follows the laws of the universe, and according to those laws, at least as far as we aware today, consciousness will have its end. Because matter will have its end. Unless we somehow move our consciousness to another non-matter level. In conclusion - i had no problems non existing before i was born, and i probly wont have any after i die. All the fear of nonexistence comes from instinct of death living creatures have. Also there is a great chance, after you die, you will take off your VR glasses and say - hell, that was a boring round!
  19. Very likely anti vampire weapon was in fact 1% anti vampire and 99% anti anything
  20. I think a-tier captains should really push themselves towards really high rp standarts. People dont follow the glorified assistant with all access, generic unknown captain in standart clothes, even if he is robust and competent, wont inspire people. People follow the personality standing behind all access and rapier, not the tools themselves. A-tier captain must be a character, with backstory and such, which of course will lead to captain having interesting unique look (due to his character preferences) and the way he talks and thinks about stuff will indicate that this is a person we are looking at, not an avatar of some player who learned game mechanics.
  21. I would love to see some A tier clowns share their experience
