  1. Very cool! Always nice to see folks sharing their art on the forums. Be prepared for a million requests.
  2. Ha, I didn't even realize that was you because this happened before I unretired so I couldn't see ckeys. If you want we can organize an event for that character for the future.
  3. The things we see while observing:
  4. That's really good! Tell Lamarr to settle down and he can have a monkey face as a snack.
  5. In the near future something I'd like to begin doing is running Events based on character Security Records. For those of you who don't know what those are you can edit certain character records in the Character Setup screen. This includes Medical Records, Employment Records, and Security Records, and these can be viewed in-game by other players! To edit them open your Character Setup menu from the lobby and click on the Character Records button in the Occupation Choices section. You'll see this screen. It might pop up behind the Character Setup screen so if you don't see it immediately move that window. Finally click on the button for the record you'd like to edit. For example here's my Security Record for Maxwell Edison: These Records don't need to be anything that happened in any given round, or even in-game at all. They could reflect your character's past decisions, prior to their time on the NSS Cyberiad. So what I'm proposing here is that every once in a while I'd check out character records early in the round and try to come up with an event based on that. I feel like Security Records are the best for this so I'm going to limit my events to using those as the basis for them. Here's an example, using actual in-game situation that prompted this idea. As NT Representative I joined mid-round and was soon approached by a guy with a special job title, something like "Private Investigator". He showed me a Security Record from a Kidan crewmember named Kazk, Priestess of Clan (Whatever, I forget the clan name.) The record indicated that she had gone missing from her clan and might have been kidnapped. It requested that her presence on any Nanotrasen station or vessel be reported to the nearest Kidan embassy. I put together a fax to CentCom, complete with a copy of the record, suggesting they contact the Embassy and see if the Kidan Ambassador might want to send out a team to collect the Priestess. The intent was that the Kidan wouldn't necessarily have authority, but that Security might not be able to actually prevent them from taking the Priestess back, though they might assign a bodyguard to protect her. Unfortunately the Admins on at the time were too busy to run anything like that. In the near future, when I'm out of school for the quarter and have more time to play, I'll be able to run events like this, and I'd aim to try to do one once a week or so. What I need is players with good Record write-ups for their characters! I can't guarantee that you'll get picked for an event like this, but it never hurts to encourage more RP, and your crew Records are good jumping-off points for it! Feel free to reply to this with your own character Records if you like. I'm not going to rely solely on Records that are posted here for events, but it wouldn't hurt to post it if you want to be sure I'll see it. Let's get this party started!
  6. This stuff is like the opposite of cringey. I'm sure some folks from this community would watch if you streamed your art process!
  7. PLANT PATROL As Sec Officers the HoS told us to group up and stay together, so we ended up rolling 4 deep. Then we grabbed plants. At one point we stopped both botanists and talked like we were the PLANT LORDS, judging them for their behavior and their ability to grow healthy, happy plants. Eventually we had to give it up when the cult started gaining a foothold, but it was fun while it lasted.
  8. I'll add a Discord invite to my original post, but as of this post I'm the only one in there. :P
  9. Recently a futuristic/space-oriented version of Pathfinder was announced and released, titled Starfinder. It seems to use a lot of similar rules but, as stated, it's intended to function in a futuristic or space-centric setting which, to me, just screams SS13. I've been running D&D and Pathfinder games for several years now on a play-by-post website called RPOL.net (RolePlay OnLine) and I'm considering starting up a Starfinder SS13 game on there. What is Pathfinder/Starfinder? Pathfinder is a sort of update to the 3.5 Edition Dungeons and Dragons game system. Pathfinder is generally more balanced and does a somewhat decent job of making each class shine in its own way. It's not so different from Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e that you have to worry about learning a whole new way of doing things, and if you find something that you like from D&D 3.5e that hasn't already been ported over to PF then it's usually a fairly simple matter to tweak it so that it'll function just fine as part of the PF ruleset. All the info you need to take part in a Pathfinder game is listed on the Pathfinder SRD website free of charge, although you can purchase the Pathfinder rulebooks if you want to support the creators. Starfinder, as mentioned above, is a very recently released version that gives rules for a futuristic/space-oriented campaign. How can I get started? If you want to give this a shot then your first step should be to register an account on the RPoL.net site. They have rules about how new accounts can't join games which are marked as Mature or Adults-Only, but that likely won't be an issue since I'm not planning on allowing anything nasty or weird during the game. A play-by-post game is run in quite a different manner than a live game. People generally take turns posting, and pacing can be kind of difficult. If you want to try out a game with me then I'm going to expect for everyone to post, at minimum, once per 48 hours. I'll do my best to keep the game engaging, but everyone will need to put in at least a little effort to keep the game running smoothly and consistently. What else? One thing I'm going to want to do, assuming enough people are interested, is set up a Discord so we can talk about how best to work some major SS13 game mechanics into the Starfinder game system. For instance: atmospherics, construction/destruction, power generation/transfer, medical, R&D, etc. I'm also going to want to try to set up custom classes that are analogous to ERT roles and/or station job roles in a way that's as balanced as possible. If there's a enough players willing to give this a shot I can run several groups at the same time, each with its own goals and gear. Ideally I'd like to try to capture the feel of SS13 as much as possible. There can be some silliness and everyone can be at least a little bit incompetent once in a while. If someone's character dies then I can try to find a way to bring them back into the game in some other way. So if this all sounds interesting to you, even if you've never played Pathfinder or D&D before, please post in this thread or PM me on the Paradise Discord. Being on the Discord is a MUST so if you haven't gotten on there yet now's a good time to join up! Looking forward to hearing from you guys! Discord chat here: https://discord.gg/meA6zsu
  10. In the past when I've cluwned someone I sent a Central Command announcement to the station saying, "A cluwne has been detected in the <location>, please destroy it before it gets cluwne juices all over everything." As much as I'd applaud a cluwne (or group of cluwnes) surviving to the end of a round it's much more entertaining to watch the station get worked up into a bloodlust as they hunt down a cluwne.
  11. My vote for the next phrase is "banana hammock"
  12. (NOTE: .gifv files don't seem to work with the "insert other media" function, but if you remove the v most image hosting sites will show just the .gif version) Is best thread for pictures, gifs, and videos of voxxy doing voxxy things yaya. 13. Is Yakihikraekhekh. Was used to be just Yakihikra, but then kins say, "You is cough like EKH EKH!" so is now Yakihikraekhekh. Is best Detectivox and star of Vox Cops™ newsreader show. Sometimes is best Voxgineer, yaya.
  14. Well my first day of playing was mostly dedicated to learning the controls and wandering around. My second day playing I decided I'd learned enough controls and in a fit of naive bravery I joined a round as a Security Officer. I proceeded to harmbaton two Vox to near-death because my stun baton didn't seem to work (spoiler alert: it wasn't turned on.) Got bwoinked, admitted my fuck-up, went to the HoP and got a job change then wallowed in self-pity for the rest of the round. Didn't play Security for probably 6 months after that.
  15. I think it might be a good idea to try this out for a few rounds and get some input from the players who had to deal with it. It sounds like it works well enough on some other servers but it may or may not work well with Paracode and the general playstyle of our population. It doesn't seem like the most difficult thing to code, although I wouldn't know for sure. As long as players have the option to strap people into roller beds, office chairs (the ones with caster wheels), wheelchairs, etc. for full-speed dragging then I think that it would be a fine addition.
