Why do I keep imagining them floating towards the ground like Mary Poppins.

I had the exact same thought lmao

I was thinking "Shit, thats a strong umbrella!"

They DO appear to be amongst the clouds, do they not? ?

  2. Not surprising that emags are the #1.

Pro tip from a sec main who has, without exaggeration, perma'd at least half the traitors I've perma'd by finding emags on them. If you are JUST using an emag as a door key, its not worth the risk. I know its cheap and easy but this is the biggest mistake traitors make. I know hacking a door or breaking through a wall takes longer, but I can't perma you for having a set of tools. Only use an emag if you are already carrying something else that would get you perma'd anyways or if you plan to use it for more than just a door key.

  3. I still think the main thing that contributes to greentext is the experience and effort given of the antag vs the experience and effort of security / the crew. Thats why you can have landslides "victories" for both sides from time to time. Buffing any antag makes what was already easy for an experienced antag even easier, but debuffing antags makes what is already unbelievably hard for inexperienced antags even harder.

As an example...without any data I think its safe to say wizards have an extremely high "loss" rate. Most tend to die within minutes of getting on the station, so by this logic we should be buffing wizards, but doing so would make it so those handful of wizards who are an absolute horror to kill would be even more unstoppable. This is a prime example of the effectiveness of an experienced antag vs one that is not.

I dont think this is one of those things that can be corrected through balance. Its really just luck of the draw in terms of whos playing what roles, and who is trying harder that given round.

  4. @Crossbow7734 just curious...why is this exclusive to Polish speaking only? I translated it and the game sounds interesting...

    Spoiler

Hey, I would like to introduce you to the beautiful matter which is a slightly niche computer game - Barotrauma in which we play as a member of the crew of a submarine running on the waters of the moon Jupiter - Europe. The game mechanically is very interesting and allows for hundreds of solutions, but to add depth to the game - we play our characters, and the captain in charge is also responsible for being a game master, a certain narrative and evaluation of players' actions. The crew and its teaming is a very important element of the game and everyone is important, regardless of whether it plays mechanics, medical officer, engineer, soldier, cook, navigator, etc. When do we play? We meet in the evenings, sometimes we play more narrative, sometimes we do missions proposed by the game (but still with full play and storyline). Regularity is not required, we choose missions under the present ones (and these are enough for 3, although the more we are, the more interestingly), one round lasts from one hour to several. In addition to the game, when our machine is in the dock;), we like to play on discord. What does the game look like? At the beginning, the captain makes a short introduction, either on the discard or directly in the game, telling about the details of the mission. Engineers bring life to the engine rooms, the soldiers make rounds, check the guns etc. Missions can be quite simple and mechanical - transporting something from A to B, whipping the monster, but also completely fabularized (recently explored the wreck of the boat, specially prepared for this round). Sometimes the boat has a leak, sometimes something attacks it, then the soldiers shoot guns, the mechanics weld, the medics try to keep the crew conscious - just everyday. We also look after the chain of command, but we are not overly militaristic. It's roughly.

If any of you have any questions about the game or server, let me know in the answers or write PM.

I heard all the cool kids genderbend their characters. For the fun of it, here's Joline Bright and Zayna Varloss.

When I initially looked at this I was thinking "Oh neat, it'll be cool to see Jonah as a chick and Zeke as a dude" and then I realized the failure in my thoughts...

I GET SO CONFUSED BY HIM!

Please do. Feral cat grenade is one of those fantatsic traitor items that is really FUN, but ineffective, so its barely used, cuz muh greentext.

I'm saying, we could all use a lil more feral cat grenade.

Kinda like running around punching a bunch of people with a powrfist is fun, but again, innefective. Bonus points if you do it with Hulk.

I think the Americans do that on thanksgiving for some reason, but here we do it on Christmas.

In the USA its actually traditional to get together on Thanksgiving AND Christmas b̶e̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶w̶e̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶f̶a̶t̶.̶

Thanksgiving definitely my favorite food Holiday tho. OOF. THE FOOD COMA. Glances at the calendar. IT APPROACHES.

But honestly for me, between Thanksgiving-New Years is just a month plus of friends and family getting together to have fun and eat. Can't fit it all into just 2 days so we spread it out over the month.

Back to Halloween...in my youth the kids would just run around on thier own. Due to times changing, there is a NEW tradition where parents tend to tag along now, and the funny (and best) part about that is its not uncommon for the parents to have bottle of wine or a 6 pack as they stroll.

BTW, kudos to @Bread1...the conversation this post is generating is fantastic, and you started it. Getting me really psyched for the holidays. Morso than usual.

Also, have you seen this horror film called Annihilation (2018) from Netflix?  That is my favourite horror fim, what is your favourite horror film?

I'll have to give Annihilation a watch.

Asking which horror film is my favorite cuz its such a loaded question for me cuz like...if I wanted to pick which one I think deserves the most "respect" and hence deserve my vote, it would be Alien or The Shining. If I wanted to pick which movies I'd always sit down and watch over and over again its the Friday the 13th movies. If I wanted to pick which one SCARED me the most, and this is based on the age I was when the movie came out, I'd say The Ring. I feel like The Ring coined the whole "horrifying little girl with supernatural powers" that has been used in SO many places since.

Are you prepared to hand out candies to other children as well?

Honestly our first year living in our house we were super excited, bought a bunch of candy to hand it out, and literally got zero "customers"

We even got a pirate costume for our puppy so he could greet kids at the door. We were super bummed.

So...we just go get candy from others now.

And yea, if you've literally never even HEARD of The Nightmare Before Christmas, definitely give it a watch. Its a classic. Your welcome.

    What a jerk.

  11. Looking forward to my kid filling a bucket with candy that I get to stuff my face with.

You eventually reach a point in life where its no longer appropriate for you to go trick or treating. Then you reach a point in life where you can force your kid to do it for you.

Also...watching Nightmare Before Christmas AS MANY times as possible. Aaaand little dude is gonna get to watch it and probably enjoy/be scared of it for the first time ever this year. Prior to this year he kinda wasn't...aware enough to watch movies.

    #parenting

House has been decorated for this since the middle of September. Only thing I enjoy more than Halloween decorating is Christmas decorating.

I'll totally shamelessly send a pic later.

I don't know why at my age the being in the dark scares me. A ten PM walk down to the basement to shower scares the shit out of me.

I'm 33 years old and logically know there are no monsters in my basement but I still always feel like something is chasing me whenever I turn off the basement light and run up the stairs.

And I ALWAYS run. I dont want the nothing that is actually chasing me to catch me. EVER!

  13. @Rurik I've seen one roach in my life, it was in my garage.

I know you don't just step on em cuz they could have eggs so I picked it up in newspaper and smashes it, then put it in my driveway, poured gasoline on it, and lit it on fire.

There is still a burn mark in my driveway despite this being years ago.

But I haven't seen any more roaches.
