  1. No, I never needed any medical treatment that round. It was just me and the Blueshield at that point and we had literally just incinerated one changeling (who tried to monkey out of the cuffs but was still surrounded so he had no way of escaping) and then we heard you and the CMO calling for help over the radio and since we were nearby we thought we were helping out by coming to the CMO's aid.
  2. Well mid-round antag is a thing so while I definitely noticed you had only recently arrived I couldn't make assumptions based on that, and even if I did it would be metagaming. I really should have questioned why the CMO was in the maint tunnels in the first place but with all the Captain's BS going on and the shuttle docking shortly we had to make hasty decisions which turned out wrong. At the least I should have had the Blueshield cuff you and drag you to the shuttle brig alive. It was very wrong of me to order your execution on the CMOs word alone, especially just being the NT Rep and not the Warden or something with the correct authority to do that sort of thing.
  3. Heya, still sorry for beheading you the other night as a suspected changeling.
  4. Howdy! You'll probably see me around as Maxwell Edison, MAX Ed-OS-n, or BEST VOXXY NT REP YAYAYA Yakihikraekhekh.
  5. How does it feel to be the love of my life, tastyfish? I bet it feels good.
  6. Just a note: SomanB isn't saying she's for removing radium as a cure, just making it more difficult to use as a cure, and with strings attached for the person who undergoes the radium treatment.
  7. Updated: Maxwell Edison - Expanded Security Record to include permabrig sentence and subsequent house arrest. Expanded Medical History to include prosthetic left hand as well as replacement liver from excessive alcohol consumption. Updated: Maxwell Edison - Added section about replacement of bionic left hand with biological one, as well as replacement of the liver. Included information about receiving medal of valor in-game.
  8. Bwahaha! Excellent work. I only wish I could have been on that round to see it happen.
  9. TIM YOU MISSED THE LAST PART OF THE EXPERIMENT We totally got KANG's mind into Araris's body but we couldn't find a way to get Araris' mind into anything besides an AI core. It was fun though!
  10. Is needs sECHcurity 4 guarding this thread against admins, yayaya.
  11. The one who was a cult target yesterday but who went in for borging at the start of the round but it didn't matter because the server crashed after 15 minutes anyway? Yeah that sounds like John Boone.
  12. Don't forget to add a page for "Skrekcurity" and make it redirect to "Shitcurity". If you don't is voxxy discrimination yayayayayaya!
  13. The guide to botany seems to be either too vague or outright incorrect about mutating plants. I poured 90 units of unstable mutagen on some ambrosia vulgaris and got no mutations. I don't know if this was because I had already hit it with a somatoray a bunch or not but even then I wasn't expecting to get no changes at all! Also it would be nice to have a table of each plant and the base stats for that plant (unless it varies from round to round for some reason). That way people who aren't familiar with some of the more obscure plants can look them up and see how they stack up compared to other plants. I feel like that would be especially helpful for those that start modifying plants at the start of the round. Just look up the plants with the highest yield, lowest production time, and which are reharvestable and splice those genes into each plant you need to grow. I'd be glad to help pull the stats for each plant, either in-game or directly from the code, to help build the table. It would also be nice to have a column of the table entitled "Uses" which links to the food list or chemical list specifying just what you get from the plant by processing or grinding it.
  14. I could totally see T.E.R.R.Y. getting attacked by a ling who's all apologetic, "I'm so sorry but I've got to kill you now, I hope it's not a problem!" T.E.R.R.Y. is getting torn apart and being chill about it, "Oh, no man, it's cool, I totally understand, organics are great!"
  15. The Science/Robotics team have goals that pop up at round end. I honestly don't know why there aren't similar goals for other departments. I was trying to think up some good goals for each department and it was pretty damn tricky. I have no idea what sort of goals Security should have aside from "keep the crew safe" and there's no real way to track that sort of thing. When setting up department objectives it'll be important to keep them difficult but not so much so that it takes the entire round. R&D can max out all research levels in <30 minutes. Robotics can crank out cyborgs and Ripleys in about the same amount of time (provided R&D is doing their job or Cargo orders a Ripley crate immediately). In addition to that the objectives need to be something that's not going to happen on accident. Nobody's going to go around setting up the solar arrays without input from the engineering team, so it would make sense for the engineers to have a goal of, "Have 3 solar arrays active and sending power to the station by the end of the shift," because no other role is going to do that.
  16. Glad to hear you had a good experience in Robotics! The basic stuff there is fairly simple, especially when you have the Robotics guide pulled up in a browser. The guide doesn't go too far into repairing IPCs but that's generally not super difficult either. If you ever want to learn about that I'd be glad to show you. As far as Botany I had absolutely no idea you could get gold from plants!!! If so that will make you VERY popular with R&D. If mining is being slow we need some other way of getting certain materials like silver, gold, uranium, and diamonds. If Botany can supply any of those then that would help R&D get rolling just that much quicker. For Engineering the big things you need to know are construction and wiring. The wiring guide (under "Basic Construction" on the wiki I believe) is a little vague in some places but once you figure it out it's not that difficult. The guide for setting up the Singulo is comprehensive enough that I was able to set it up on my own my first round as an Engineer with little to no help. The Solars are a little trickier and required a bit of EVA to wire them up, but once that's done you can just set them to auto-track the sun to charge. You can also wire them straight into he main power grid so the SMESs (the batteries that store the power from the solars and then provide it to the station) charge via the Singulo and can then act as back-up power in case the Singulo goes out for whatever reason. Once again I'd be glad to show you all of that as I've been playing Engineer a little more lately. I'm not on the server right now, I'm actually at work right now, but I'll be on later this evening. My ckey is Keroman just like my forum name if you want to add me as a friend and message me once you see me get online. Lynnwood is super familiar to me. I grew up in Mountlake Terrace so I spent a lot of time at the Alderwood Mall, up and down 196th, and Aurora Village. Sorry to see you're leaving town soon!
  17. I totally just noticed your location is Seattle, too! I live up in Marysville. Where you at?
  18. Ha, no need to apologize. People posting intros for themselves is the entire point of the Introductions board!
  19. Welcome! Maxwell Edison/MAX Ed-OS-n/Corporation Clown here, but you already knew that because I posted it in that other introduction thread. If you see me around on the server feel free to ask questions about Science (specifically Robotics/R&D/Xenobio). I've also recently learned a little engineering: I could show you how to set up the Singularity and Solars for power generation to the station. I'm always glad to teach anyone anything that I'm familiar with! If you've played Botanist for any reasonable length of time then you probably know more about that role than I do. I can grow regular plants and help keep the kitchen stocked but when it comes to mutating plants I'd be super lost. If you ever need unstable mutagen or a floral somatoray I can get usually get them for you from the Science department. Don't ever be afraid to try new roles once in a while. If you're lucky you could get a round where there's other people in the same department who are willing to show you the ropes! If there's nobody responding on the department radio you can also ahelp and a mentor or admin will get in touch and help you out! The first time you play any given Command role I also find it's a good idea to ahelp and just let them know it's your first time playing such a role so they can fill you in on the basics. Good luck out there, dude!
  20. DM20 you should totally post your own thread for your own intro!
  21. Well I'm glad that someone is actually reading and enjoying these. Anytime I have a particularly interesting round with Maxwell I plan to post it here. Canonically Maxwell is currently under house arrest for two weeks by CentCom as punishment for aiding the Syndicate. The only reason his sentence is so light is because he was manipulated into it. Fortunately not every antag round I play is canon otherwise Maxwell would be in much more trouble. It's kind of funny how we can pick and choose which rounds we play are "canon" for our characters.
  22. Hey man, I play Maxwell Edison and I'm online most nights (or every other night) for a round or two. If you're interested in anything related to Science (i.e. Robotics, R&D, Chemistry, Toxins, Xenobiology) just sign up as a Scientist and ask around if someone can show you the ropes. I know that I'm ALWAYS down to show someone how slime breeding/splitting works in Xenobio. Robotics is easier than most people think. R&D can be done in under 30 minutes with the right list of stuff to throw into the deconstructive analyzer and a good assistant to run around and get you things while you're working on raising the research levels. Chemistry and Toxins area bit more complicated and so I tend to stay away from those, but if you've been practicing your Chemistry you're probably miles ahead of me. It's difficult to ruin someone else's round in Science unless you go overboard in Toxins testing. Worst thing that can happen in Chemistry is you blow yourself up. Xenobio is pretty self-contained (but DO NOT inject liquid plasma in gold slime extracts as it will get you into super-trouble). R&D can print out weapons but the cases they're contained in upon being fabricated are only unlockable by Security and the Captain. Robotics can make some scary mechs with the right materials, although usually R&D claims all the good stuff as soon as a Miner makes a drop at the ore redemption machine in Cargo. Obviously if you go out of your way to grief someone it'd be pretty easy to do as a Scientist. You could make all sorts of nasty chemicals and spread them around. You could build some mega-grenades. You could release hostile slimes into the halls. It's easy to avoid all that stuff even if you don't know what you're doing. Just stick to your lab and start small. We've all been noobs at some point or another. I've only been playing for about a month now and I'm still uneasy playing most roles outside of Science or Cargo. But you gotta jump in sometime. A good starting point if you'd like to learn Engineering or Security is to play a cyborg and pick the module for either of those. You just follow the orders of the Command Staff and the AI to the best of your ability and nobody will expect too much of you. Best of luck to you! If you see Maxwell Edison (or my IPC character, MAX Ed-OS-n) feel free to say hi.
  23. Well lore-wise I was thinking along the lines of Stargate. The main bad guys have the Goa'uld parasites in them, but then there's the Tok'ra who are helpful Goa'uld who actively resist the machinations of the bad guys.
