  1. Security needs more bodies in high pop, period. The current maximum sec numbers are best for around 80 pop. Anything more is too much. Some antags spawn based on how many people are on station. Not how many security. There are sometimes traitor rounds that have 20ish traitors. When security is fully staffed they have a total of 12 bodies. One is a doctor. Two are supposed to stay in the brig. Three arent supposed to be directly handling antags unless in defense. Its honestly not even a good idea for the HOS to go in the field unless its an extreme emergency but they usually go supercop anyways and it doesn't help much. Traitors are more well armed then security, especially if they work together cuz they can get gear that compliments each other (one with carp one with guns) while sec is stuck using the same equipment as each other, half of which is nullified once a traitor kills one newbie officer and gets a HUD and headset. God forbid if a freaking cling or vamp get thier hands on syndicate gear. Forget it. Antags are also more likely to be given useful equipment by collabs or meta buddies whereas sec rarely gets anything extremely useful from science. Antags are also are regularly tapped into sec comms and have the element of surprise initially whereas sec stands out like a sore thumb. Add in greytide who constantly harass security or cause other problems sec needs to deal with because they are bored that they didn't roll antag and hate authority. It's also far more likely to get 2 or 3 experienced antags who have literally worked together countless times than it is to get a sec team that works together well (same antags love bitching about cliques...lel). Also the general attitude of the community that authority sucks and bad guys are cool because half our players are teenagers who already have severe issues with the authority figures in thier lives (parents, teachers, boss) and want to vent thier frustration here because its a game and they are too young and dumb or just don't give a shit that sec players are also players as well so they treat them like crap and make thier jobs difficult as much as possible.
  2. Things will just return to how they were befour I was an admin. I'll still be around.
  3. Personal choice. I just have two much going on IRL. No adminosity towards the team.
  4. Its not against the current rules (nor any possible future rule changes I'm aware of). Case closed.
  5. @SkeletalElite you did not actually suffer any punishment for failing to hire from the manifest. As far as I can tell this post originated from the fear you or someone else may get reprimanded for failing to hire from the manifest, but multiple admins have already said this isn't breaking the rules. What is the issue here exactly? We are arguing about punishment for something that doesn't yield punishment.
  6. I had zero patients as brig doc last night despite there being loud traitors with hijack.
  7. Even prior to being an admin I've never been bwoinked for not recruiting from the crew unless I had absolutely no reason not to and the person trying to be recruited was putting in decent effort IC to get recruited (I'd also never think using "they aren't mindshielded" isn't a viable reason). However I also HAVE recruited from the crew. Is sec understaffed? Is the person persistent? Did they actually fill out paperwork and accept an interview? I base hiring from the crew on the effort put it and circumstances. If someone just PDAs me or just asks out of the blue I'll say no. Zero effort. As for meta knowledge and mindshields. Why are you so worried about game balance and losing? Afraid something new and interesting might happen? More than anything, most of the people I hired from the crew were just newer players who wanted to give sec a shot but essentially just be a "cadet" rather than a "full blown officer" cuz they felt it was too much responsibility. Showing them the ropes was fun, and it was satisfying to see some of them eventually grow into good sec players. Have I accidentally hired antags from the crew? Yup. Has it screwed sec over? Absolutely. One time the officer used his status to frame and get his targets executed, but other than that he was actually a very efficient officer. Stop worrying so much about winning and allow something interesting to happen. The biggest crime of meta knowledge is it leads to repetitive, predictable, and boring behavior. Not just sec is at fault for this. Everyone is to some degree.
  8. Best panic siphon in an extreme emergency is a massive hole to space.
  9. As I said. Its Bootiful. Its fantastic Aurt. <3
  10. @bigfatbananacyclops we've already found a new v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶ partner for the s̶m̶e̶l̶l̶y̶ handsome bachelor. Congratulations Jessica Murdock~!!! @Benjaminfallout @PhantasmicDream
  11. I haveZero energy left, thank spess jeebus its the weekend.
  12. THIS. I regularly harp on sec who don't communicate. Either zero communication or "Set so and so to arrest" with no reason. Which forces me as warden to use my macro that makes me say "Reason for arrest?" into comms. I kid about the macro but it would honestly bw helpful if I had one. I always tell swc at the beginning of the shift give me a name and arrest reason in one sentence to avoid confusion. Still rarely happens. Thats part of the lack of communication thing too. I'll also frequently ask about someone on comms and regularly get no answer, which CAN result in the same person being pestered by sec multiple times. Of course I rarely actually play compared to many other sec mains who DONT care about communication and JUST want to stomp antags into the ground, so the behavior of those sec players becomes the norm.
  13. I know. I usually just avoid them or die and laugh at the fan girls cheering about how robust they are. ...and make fun of them a bit via adminbus. Cuz they deserve it ?
  14. I thought voxxie cant love? Shame on you, Biki.
  15. I was joking. I will quite literally never use explosive lances. As I've explained many times before, I don't try that hard. I'd also never use carpire ?
  16. I was covered in blood and they searched me 4noraisin. Try hards.
  17. Immovable rod broke the plasma chamber in atmos and eventually found a dude smoking a cig in medbay. Shuttle called. Immovable rod has now been jobbaned from being an immovable rod due to lacking hijack objective.
  18. Going by the sec players that do the "perform surgery to check if they have implants" shit I wouldn't be surprised if those same sec players are just like "replace thier internals box with a new one just to be safe" XD
  19. Pulls out a piece of paper and begins scribbling Tetra O'Shaw repeatedly while twirling her hair. *SCREAM
  20. Yea this was legit "Nukies in engineering" and the captain proceeds to run towards engineering to d̶e̶l̶i̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶d̶i̶s̶k̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ fight them. I was ghostminning. So also an unreliable source ?
  21. Unless I'm talking about a diff round where nearly the exact same thing happened.
  22. They were trying to punch them but had the wrong intent on... They also then proceeded to drag your body away from the nukies for the next 5-10 min... I can't beleive there is still salt about this... I get it. You were stopped from being able to beat your chest about single handedly killing a nukie as captain. A situation that was only made possible by attempting to engage the nukies with no help but the Blueshield (getting the BS killed) while holding the disk instead of retreating towards sec. Muh valids more important than securing the disk.
  23. Good on ya then ? Apologies for coming on so hard.
