  1. I concur. Just to add to this: the term "unidentified foreign body" would fit better (actual medical term).
  2. As much as FNAF was a fantastic master class in how to execute a jump scare, it falls down right there because of one fundamental problem with jump scares: They only work once. Similarly, FNAF is a one-trick pony, with the sequels becoming increasingly drawn-out and the whole meme culture around it particularly cancerous, even for meme culture. It's something that should be left to rest.
  3. Huh, this thread is still going. Well, guess I'll drop an observation here. It looks to me like everyone's listening, it's just nobody's talking. At least, not about the thing that they are listening for. It's just a lot of prattle around the subject, not about it. As I see it, there are three questions asked multiple times here that have yet to be answered: What are the "standards" that the maintainers expect from the code? Even if the answer is that it's unexplainable, an answer would be nice. Has anybody other than the creator tested this? If no, why not? If yes, what were the results, and what do they mean for it? Just what exactly is the argument? Are we negotiating a compromise of this? Are we arguing a straight yes/no? Most of the arguments I've seen so far are about the related topic of CPU cycles, which is not the subject here. There have been times when the discussion has gotten frustratingly close to addressing these, but has yet to do so. So enough ranting about whether ZAS or LINDA is your favourite pony, and enough about the difference between CPU load and frames. Back to the subject, which, IIRC, was about increasing the speed of long-range atmospheric spread, and the suggestion of an additional piece of code to attempt to do so.
  4. Just gonna say this: There's a big difference between taking a few insults here and there, and having to deal with someone who is literally spamming one (or sometimes even multiple) of the chat types with the most toxic bile they can come up with. As someone who has been in various positions of authority over some really shitty communities, I honestly think the admins here have the patience of saints. I wouldn't give some of these cretins even half the time that these guys do.
  5. +1 Been grumbling about this for a while
  6. 38 ERTs sent with the wrong equipment because of shitty faxes
  7. Agreed. If this were implemented, I think I'd spend the karma on it straight away.
  8. Artists are always 'biased'. Everyone is biased.
  9. You can't already do this? You should be able to do this.
  10. Or possibly do it by detecting certain department populations. I've lost count of the amount of times I've had to break into hydro as chef because there were no botanists.
  11. I was originally supportive of this idea, but this... ... sounds like a much better solution.
  12. Yes. It's like an IC implementation of anti-spam.
  13. Agreed, though not many of them can be modified to work like this. Certainly though, the overall outcome shouldn't be a binary "victory/failure" thing, but more of a "Urist McAntag achieved nn% antagonism!" or something.
  14. Additional: Ability to insert an explosive and have it explode into an actual explosion when hugged.
  15. Bandoliers hold ammo, and only ammo. At a pinch, you might be able to put a few pens in them (which have clips on, so they don't fall out), but other than that, ammo only or it'll just slip out. I'd rather like it to stay that way here too.
  16. Also, there are a few more engi hardsuits on the engi outpost. But yeah, I actually agree with this one, though I'd argue a slightly different implementation than just having all of them available for order - perhaps an expansion of other hardsuit customisation things - where you can paint/upgrade/modify/whatever the base suits into whichever type of suit you want. After all, it's mostly just a visual change anyway (with a couple exceptions, obv.).
  17. I see something that is omnipresent in these ideas but nobody has actually mentioned yet: they're part of a hivemind. To expand on this, perhaps make these antags really weak (like, weak to the point of being vulnerable to being punched to death real easy), but with the ability to respawn infinitely as long as some fairly well-defended core structure is intact. This would have a few effects: it would enforce stealth if their objectives are more hostile, enforce cooperation for less hostile objectives, and de-incentivise the station all-out attacking them. Just a random thought.
  18. As someone who often plays as Ian... I actually have to completely agree. Doesn't stop them being a fun thing though.
  19. This guy was in medbay with Lasskaklassh once. Nice to know Lasskaklassh isn't the only alcohol-dependent Unathi medical staff
