  1. First of all, it's not my exploit. I was unaware of it. I think you messed up - I think they mean that you have to put someone masked (and perhaps still alive) into the GENETICS DNA MODIFIER where you will copy the UI + SE to a buffer. And then you can apply a syringe with the voice data to someone else.
  2. Cloning dead people? Yes, potentially faster, less risky, doesn't require much attention - simplifies multitasking. I'm the proponent - if many broken bones and much organ damage, clone. Of course, I'm one of the few people who tend to the patients - I'd hate to see a patient get killed by an antag twice in a row on my watch. If I have doubts, I just bring the corpse to the advanced medical scanner for quick diagnosis. Leave our surgeons alone!
  3. Stop the burning entirely. It's ridiculous. Also possibly shorten the zippo descriptions. Spam chat is not fun. Though I have to say that it's not a problem at my resolution (2560x1440).
  4. Physics and science... also logic. This answer should be very obvious to everyone. A basic fact. The smaller the tank, the more compressed gas you need to have the equivalent amount of the gas compared to a larger tank. Atoms: the more tightly packed, the more gas you can fit in a given space. Typically you can fill both tank types to contain gas with pressure of ~1000 kPa. The pressure being the same, the only other variable that would affect the amount of gas would be VOLUME. Small tanks have super small volume. You'd need a very high pressure to compensate for the small volume if you wanted to carry a tiny tank with lots of gas inside. Damn it, people. Shame on you!
  5. Damn it, that should be a fukken' exploit! Patch it nao! Why the fuck would the DNA modifier ignore the actual flesh?!
  6. To prevent you from unintentionally wasting resources.
  7. Sometimes you don't have the required DNA data. You could have lost it somewhere along the way; one mislabeled DNA syringe and suddenly you're Bulma... Sure, it makes it quite reversible, but you could turn people into other people way too easily IMO. One photo and you're set? Come on...
  8. Dayum, son. One would think that your voice is Unique and comes from Unique Enzymes. So much for misleading names!
  9. It doesn't function because it lacks the data to reconfigure and manipulate neurons in the new body that is being grown in the pod. If you wanted to clone a braindead person, you'd probably come up with something like our humanized monkeys. I mean - when the DNA in the brain doesn't match the rest of the body, you've got some really hard paradox... From a gameplay perspective, though, it's the body that matters. It's the way your body looks and its own inherent defects (genetic disabilities). The brain is merely* a carrier of your consciousness - or rather - the organ that creates it. *there's more to it, of course; the brain is truly a marvelous organ!
  10. Cool. Anyway, I do not like your idea because the brain is quite a lot smaller than the body itself... Swap brains, swap minds. Why would you want to make cloning dependent on the brain's DNA?
  11. Last time I injected someone with his own UI taken from his body post-brain transplantation his name was still messed up. At least his hair was back to normal!
  12. Since when do brains in SS13 have DNA? My main problem is with brain transplants and it involves unchangeable monkey names. I feel like it should be body's DNA anyway.
  13. Yes, I'm sorry that I have temporarily forgotten that it's a guide for chemists, not to chemistry in general. As I said, I do not make complex chems. I would never bother myself with making salbutamol. I'm a frequent user of chems, however, and I spoke from the point of view of a (para)medic, Blueshield, HoS or Captain in need of first aid. Which is why I also talked about emergency chemical implants. Salbutamol is commonly found in maintenance and O2 lockers. Shoo, it's not your thread. Do not hijack threads with uber-long opinion posts.
  14. I was opposed to this idea, but Fox presented counterarguments I just couldn't refute or dismiss.
  15. You know what?... I think I'd rather have fat man-eater people than xeno-like lings consuming their victims.
  16. Every damage point counts when you're fighting. I mainly use salbutamol in the sleepers when I'm waiting for a surgeon.
  17. Biomods are primarily an issue of security, not just public health. HoS may not like the risks and problems that come with some of these modifications. There is at least one biomod that directly concerns medical (coldproof - cryo stops working), but the rest? No fingerprints, shockproof, omni-eater, cryokinesis, invisibility, identity theft, stun-farts... All beneficial, offering some useful abilities for the antags. Also: viral augmentations. CMO should know the risks, the symptoms and other things, as it isn't as clear-cut as DNA powers. In this case it's fairly obvious that it's CMO's area of expertise.
  18. We don't need more traitor shit that can be meta'd by anyone with half of a brain. You can fucking triangulate the device if you make it leave messages.
  19. Thanks to your guide I finally got back into mixing some chems. Sure, I only make the simplest chems that do not require oil, ash, charcoal, acetone and other bullshit, but it's still something. Synthflesh is very easy to make now, thanks to you! Perfluoro does have a downside, though. Many times I use salbutamol because I want to stabilize someone with a ruptured lung. And I use salbutamol in emergency chem implants, too - in that case I just can't afford the downside. Not being able to talk and call for help is a dealbreaker.
  20. The biggest issue IMO is that the buffer in the Chemmaster accepts only 100 units max. Make it so it is 200 units when it's fully upgraded to accommodate bluespace beakers. Figure out some incremental bonuses. As for the super-condensed pills, make sure it isn't OP. 5 bonus units per upgrade tier sounds reasonable.
  21. Just fucking remove the ability to eat people!
  22. That's what we originally wanted. The preset stationary ones deserve some love from science. Have you thought about >50 unit pills from potential upgraded chemmasters?
  23. I think you mean the Support department. But yes, I think we should have both Supply and Service departments on the manifest.
