  2. I don't draw a ton of SS13 art, but all of my friends have made threads for theirs at this point, so I thought I'd join in with the pictures I do have. First, an ID card I made for my drask character (template courtesy of Skygummi; writing and image by me): Second, a doodle of Viisk featuring Angel Anide (Punkalope) and Chikitita (Heather): This one stems from a joke about Viisk and Angel starting a station vlog highlighting unique drask culinary habits. Viisk never thought to ask if it was safe for humans to consume some of the things she enjoys.

  3. Event: Photo Day Quick description: The Librarian (and any assistants they can rope in) is tasked with taking yearbook photos of as many crew members as possible. Reason for suggestion: Librarian has always felt like one of the least "engaged" roles on the station, so I and some friends have put a lot of thought into how to make it more fun and involved. This morning while joking around we came up with an idea that seems both fun and doable, so I thought I'd put it here. Necessary map changes: No, this event should be feasible on any station that has a camera and a photo album. Necessary code changes: No, this should work completely within the current system. Ideal player count: Should work with any number, but 60-80 is probably the ideal range? Detailed description: Potential modifiers: Notes: Best for extended/"quiet" shifts, as it will involve a lot of people being dragged away from work for a few minutes and as such will be extremely difficult to pull off if the crew is distracted by a blob attack or at risk of abduction. Head of Personnel and Captain should be informed via CentComm fax when this event is happening, as they play minor roles in it. I recommend requiring around 60% of the crew for objective completion; it's enough of a majority to feel both challenging and worthwhile without being such a majority that it's nigh impossible to complete.

  4. So I love the game Hardspace: Ship breaker. And I know that their is already a way for us to get resources (mining) but what about a decommission/salvage job? You have a big ship sitting in a drydock that has to be scrapped. Give the scrappers tools, hardsuits, access to upgrades like jetpacks and mining tools. And have them break it down for parts for the station.

  5. hihi, time for more art! (i do hope this isn't too much of spam hghfhdhg) we hitting february and march 2021 today this one's featuring Cure#FF99FF during a round where Idunn's brain was stolen after her murder, and following Cure flatlining, Idunn briefly encouraged her to keep living for the short short moment they were reunited in the afterlife. here's a short sketch of Idunn and Freya in their original renditions! their relationship is much messier in their original verse, but they do get better as people and make up eventually :] this one's from a round with Idunn and her girlfriends (Angel Anide and Rivera Kirkland) where we had queued up to learn cargo tech, and our QM (who was APPARENTLY a syndicate agent) spent their whole shift teaching us the ropes, it was hysterical when the round ended and we found out LMAO finally i have my current Idunn ref, which covers her three typical outfits :] it's got a couple notes that I expand on more in her crew record (found here), but i really am pleased with how it came out!

  6. Hello everyone! It is I, Mister Man, although most people would know me as Francisco Unk. I've been on this server for a bit, although I started taking it more seriously a few weeks ago. Nowadays I spend a bit too much time playing, and there's a good chance you've seen me around at least once. I've played a lot of roles throughout my time here in pretty much every department, and I occasionally dabble in command roles if I'm feeling adventurous. Nowadays I play shaft miner mostly, but I'll still switch it up every few games. I don't ave much else to say here, so I'll see you around!

  7. Mouse round - over 10 people joined as a mouse and memed around the station. This is the remnants of the cheese crusade, who died squeaking to be let into the bridge and join their comrades.

  9. Hi all, A number of people have expressed an interest in getting a new highpop map for us, once map rotation is in. CereStation fits this role nicely, and seems like a good fit for paradise. What I'm suggesting: Take TG's CereStation, give it some TLC, and bring it into paradise rotation. CereStation is a large map with departments spread across various asteroids, these asteroids are connected by walkways and by a quantum pad network. Each department has a small security office, with a large and spacious brig in the North West. The map is designed to evoke feelings of lonelyness and isolation, and can do this even on highpop, since the departments are so spread out and the map is quite large. Bridge hobos wont really have a place on this map, as its bridge design is quite unique (its on the east side of the NW asteroid, if you want to see) Why I'm suggesting this: We currently lack an up-to-date highpop map. We do have meta and delta, but they are severely outdated and broken currently. While work is being done to fix this, I think that time could be better spent maintaining CereStation. Issues that need solutions: So, the biggie. I've been able to port it over, and touch it up to be fully functional. An image of the map will be at the bottom of the post. HOWEVER, since it's a TG map, it has no facilities for our karma jobs, and its shuttle system is different to our current one. These things aren't the worst to remedy, but they require time that I dont want to committ unless I know people want this map. Main things that will need addressing are: Karma job locations; mechanic, secpod, barber, magi, blueshield, NTR, brigdoc, etc. Medbay remap SciChem Arrivals docking tweaks for ERT, medshuttle, etc. Brig remap for para culture, notably; perma expansion, processing room, better evidence, gamma armory. Move gateway out of maints More vending machines Click the image to expand and zoom in detail, its very large. (This image is taken from within a mapping tool, some things such as cables will not be visible. This map runs without issue on a test server currently)

  10. Name of Event: NanoTrasen Training Day One Sentence Description: Time to teach the Crew how to be a better Crew! Map Changes: No/Maybe? (Admemes spawning certain things may make it easier, see below [mostly Sec/Engi stuff]) Suggested Number of Players: Any, though higher pop could be a tad messier but "train" more people. Full Description of Event: An idea I've been toying with in my head for a while has been a semi-event/semi-changed Extended Roundtype where the Crew has a "Training Day" where assistants, staff members, and other crew cross-train or straight up learn new departments for a Shift. This could be a weekly thing at specified times where new players or experienced players can swap ideas and "training" ICly to try to teach new players or simply interested players how to do certain things in their departments. For example, Atmospherics can have a SM Setup tutorial, Security can do arrest drills with fake "antags" with some Syndie gear to play practically "tag" with, Science can do Toxins, RND, Robotics and such, and medical can just beat the shit out of some humanized monkeys and teach how to fix different races without worrying about SUPER SERIOUS injuries from the crew, Mining can do Megafauna training, and perhaps a SOO or Naval Officer can discuss proper Command behavior or SoP with aspiring future Heads or current ones. This would be something a Captain can decide to do in an Extended round, but you never REALLY know if its Extended or if its just a precursor to an Admeme event anyway. Hence why a CC Announcement of such a "Training Day" would be a big 'OK' that youre not gonna get T-Spider'd or some other spooky midround while teaching how the Turbine works. In a more OOC focus, perhaps allow Mentors or experienced Crew teach in voice comms some of the training as well. While this breaks SOME of the IC immersion, It may be useful to answer some harder or more nuanced questions. While this turns it more into a COMMUNITY event than an IC one, I really do think it would be helpful. Perhaps, if we would want to take it one step further, make it an Announced event on Discord or such, so that people can turn up if they wish to partake. This idea has been bouncing around my head for a bit, so any feedback or suggestions are 100% welcome!

  11. In the near future something I'd like to begin doing is running Events based on character Security Records. For those of you who don't know what those are you can edit certain character records in the Character Setup screen. This includes Medical Records, Employment Records, and Security Records, and these can be viewed in-game by other players! To edit them open your Character Setup menu from the lobby and click on the Character Records button in the Occupation Choices section. You'll see this screen. It might pop up behind the Character Setup screen so if you don't see it immediately move that window. Finally click on the button for the record you'd like to edit. For example here's my Security Record for Maxwell Edison: These Records don't need to be anything that happened in any given round, or even in-game at all. They could reflect your character's past decisions, prior to their time on the NSS Cyberiad. So what I'm proposing here is that every once in a while I'd check out character records early in the round and try to come up with an event based on that. I feel like Security Records are the best for this so I'm going to limit my events to using those as the basis for them. Here's an example, using actual in-game situation that prompted this idea. As NT Representative I joined mid-round and was soon approached by a guy with a special job title, something like "Private Investigator". He showed me a Security Record from a Kidan crewmember named Kazk, Priestess of Clan (Whatever, I forget the clan name.) The record indicated that she had gone missing from her clan and might have been kidnapped. It requested that her presence on any Nanotrasen station or vessel be reported to the nearest Kidan embassy. I put together a fax to CentCom, complete with a copy of the record, suggesting they contact the Embassy and see if the Kidan Ambassador might want to send out a team to collect the Priestess. The intent was that the Kidan wouldn't necessarily have authority, but that Security might not be able to actually prevent them from taking the Priestess back, though they might assign a bodyguard to protect her. Unfortunately the Admins on at the time were too busy to run anything like that. In the near future, when I'm out of school for the quarter and have more time to play, I'll be able to run events like this, and I'd aim to try to do one once a week or so. What I need is players with good Record write-ups for their characters! I can't guarantee that you'll get picked for an event like this, but it never hurts to encourage more RP, and your crew Records are good jumping-off points for it! Feel free to reply to this with your own character Records if you like. I'm not going to rely solely on Records that are posted here for events, but it wouldn't hurt to post it if you want to be sure I'll see it. Let's get this party started!
