I've been playing Space Station for about four days now, mostly cargo, and I decided it was time to introduce myself to the community. My username is Bludermaus and I'm a student of Game Development, just one semester and I'll get my diploma. I'm still unemployed, but I want to work in the artistic area, like Concept Art, which is why I'm one of the three artists in our group in college and I'm the one tasked to create urban scenarios. I was also tasked with creation of characters, but a new artist came in and she's way faster than me and her pictures have more of a 'natural' feeling on them. It's fine by me, less work to do. Anyway, I've talked too much about college stuff, let's talk about SS13! I'm really loving the game so far. Really. It's Multiplayer Dwarf Fortress in SPACE. BLESSED BE ARMOK! I've only worked with desk work in the game for now and I'm quite happy with it. I don't know if I'd handle the stress of being any of the Heads (specially security in case of an emergency), although I'm pretty curious to see how everything works when playing as a Mechanic, but I'll probably not do it because I don't want people angry at me for not knowing what to do. ALSO, I've turned 'Traitor' on because I really wanted to see how it works. I've had a little chat with the players and they said they wouldn't be mad if I didn't do anything on my first couple of rounds as traitor because I'd be learning it. About finding me in the game, my name there is Valentina Kuznetsova (which is the same name I gave to a character I created some time ago. I know, I'm not original, recycling names, yay.) and I usually work as a Cargo Technician. Pay a visit! Give me a hi! =) PS: Pardon my English if I made any mistakes. It's not my first language. I played mostly Cargo Tech when I first started too, though I don't really touch the job too much recently. I can't handle the stress as heads either, honk. Yeeeeeep, I was in the exact same situation about like, 3 months ago. To be completely honest, all you need to have is the attitude to learn. Chances are people will teach you/correct you if you stay positive and don't outright insult anyone. I managed to learn genetics, chemistry, medical, botany, rnd, and a bit of engineering, all from information passed down from more experienced players. In all situations I had no idea what I was doing starting out. Now I'm writing job guides. So don't be afraid to fuck up! Annnnnd welcome! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just don't honk... it attracts the clowns D: THE CLOOOOOOOWNS! One time as Quartermaster I let a clown go to the mining station (I was distracted). Soon, about four security guards came to bring him back. I found it amusing. Always feel fee to ask questions. My question is why does the escape pod goes out at the same time as the escape shuttle :U I almost won on my first traitor round if it wasn't for the lag and the lack of knowledge that I couldn't just waltz in the pod anytime to escape. *FRUSTRATION INTENSIFIES* At least I managed to stole the item...as quartermaster...I think the game knew I was n00b and let me have it easy. ALSO, the EMAG name in-game is different from the wikia, that made me lose precious time. So don't be afraid to fuck up! Annnnnd welcome! Thanks for the welcome! As for being devoured by xenomorphs (alive) and tormented by them....Von Bon still going through therapy on that. Escape pods...yeah I've had the mistake of once not knowing that they left at the same time as well and they were willing to suck you out into space as well. Since the only thing that messed up my traitor round was the lack of knowledge of the escape pod...I say that I won that round! In spirit, at least.
