  1. Barber is an RP role on what is effectively a low RP server, yeah some will argue we are medium rp but the community sure don't act like it.
  2. Encouraging and giving attention to griefers is detrimental to this server. Do not do it. Just curious, do we have Cluwnes? As in Cluwnes, the curse a wizard can place on a crew member to put them into ugly ass green clown gear that can't be removed, spastasticly honk like they have tourettes, and have a 50%+ chance of failing anything they do and instead drop what they are holding or attack themselves with it? I ask because I always wondered if this might be a better punishment for greifers or rule breakers, since Cluwnes are considered non-human/non-crew within the context of space law and thus valid targets for any malice or cruelty other players might wish to visit upon them, from toolbox beatings, genetics/chemlab hellmix test subjects, slime fodder or live fire target practice for Security.
  3. I will say, having a character slot reserved/dedicated to being your ERT character would be great, and this could even double as the Nuke Ops character as well (with a random name, of course.) Picking your name and appearance and having it being a consistent factor over the rounds would be great, and possible open the door for non-human characters in these specialized event roles. As for ERT in general, they need better guidelines and directives. 'Deal with the alert' is one thing, but depending upon the commander, some ERT members take this as an excuse to do what ever they want, I've seen ERT Commanders and Members try demote a Captain or boss around the heads of staff, even though they are outside the Chain of Command, it's pretty humurous. I generally dislike being Sec ERT because 90% of Shitcurity sees Red Hardsuit and instantly thinks you are a Nuke Ops member and try to shoot you down, the suits really don't look that much alike but everyone sees red and assumes it's antag. Commanders are generally Comdoms, in my expierence, or just have no idea what the fuck they are doing and lead the team astray. Janitor ERTs are not called enough, I find them hilarous and my favorite moments as ERT are as Janitor Ops (we ALL took the role seriously, screaming our dedication to the Custodial ways and laying down 'SUPRESSIVE MOPPING!' while eventually arresting the clown for spreading graffiti) Medical ERTs need a relook at their equipment, as they are almost always called in to deal with Viral infections and nothing else, the combat stims they are supposed to get are locked in the Admin rooms and they could at the very least be given roller beds and Surgery kits so they could set up mobile triage stations. Engineering ERT has it pretty much right, I can't think of anything that they could use they don't spawn with already, their Admin room just has jetpacks and other minor items, I believe there was an old bug/oversight that prevented them from spawning with gloves, but I think that has been fixed.
  4. Wait, you mean the detective isn't supposed to sit in the bar all day and drink till his liver gives out, or go out valid hunting? Well I guess I've never seen a real detective then.
  5. I honestly don't see a point to hiding information from the wiki, especially when we are open source as it. Griefers are always a problem but if we are this set on restricting knowledge or options for other players, what's the point in having it? Restore the wiki, or remove the recipes and make them only available through traitor link or RNG spawns (Locked Mining Crates, Syndicate Supply, Syndi Base/Shuttles, ect...) Honestly I feel we restrict the player base heavily as it is in attempts to keep grief activity to a low, to a point that antags aren't allowed to release singularity unless they have the escape alone objective.
  6. Actually that was a 3.0 change. AD&D and First Edition, attempting put any extra-dimensional spaces in each other had very bad and often destructive results.
  7. Gentlemen. It's time for SCIENCE! and mayhem
  8. I've never brought a single sheet of plastic from the mining outpost, and nobody has ever complained about it's absence...
  9. He wants the suit to start in Combat mode, not Travel/Space mode. Most new Syndicate Operatives don't realize that combat mode makes them vulnerable to space, will swap modes and die of pressure when they go through an airlock/inevitably breach the station. He seems to think doing this with a message popping up will inform new Ops players what their suit is capable, I doubt it will work since most Nuke Ops need to be shown where their items are and how to get weapons aside from the Shotgun via their uplink.
  10. Well, I've been semi-active for about a year now, guess I should say hello. Spike Ward, that bastard who'se always trying upgrade the station whether the crew likes it or not. Not half bad Coal Canary either, it seems.
  11. Did you ever consider changing your character's name to Richard and just insisting everyone call you Dick?
  12. As much as I'd like to be able to tag some players with a warning about their favorite little mischief to get into, this would lead to metagrudging as certain players could be marked as trying to break into the vault or a secure area at some point during the shift, with out the person uploading into the system knowing for certain if they are an Antag or not, future HoP's would see this apparent misuse of power and decline otherwise legitimate request.
  13. The only major issue I have with it is that it is a lethal version of the stun baton. I don't know if it deflects projectiles or not, I've never willingly tried to fight or push past a person with a chainsaw, but from what I witnessed you only need one hit to knock someone down and they are at your mercy from then on out, I watched a rogue clown kill 3 engineers in the CE office, and the engineers weren't trying to fight, they were trying to grab their boss and run away, the clown was just able to quickly walk up and smack them down instantly and just take his time cutting people apart before he finally sawed himself up after killing the CE before security could arrive (his objectives were kill the CE and Die a glorious death, he didn't seem to compute that attacking himself with a chainsaw wouldn't kill him) It's not the high damage that makes it OP, it's the garunteed stun/knock down that lets any maniac weilding it go on killing sprees, it doesn't appear to slow you down and the only drawbacks are you are highly visible and you can't hide it (without a Bag of Holding at least), you can swing it as fast a stun club and it never runs out of charge/fuel for it's knock down. Making the thing Plasma powered (like a flamethrower) might be a way bring it back in to something someone can't quickly buy and equip. As for the Revving sound... can always go to basics and go DOOM Revving Idling (played on repeat unless action was taken) Slashing and Cutting
  14. -1. This just sounds like an exploit for infinite diamonds waiting to happen, let alone stuff like a box full of bombs or other bad ideas. As for the hate against singulo creation, I don't get it. The reference is old as dirt and makes sense (putting extradimensional space in extradimensional space.) And it serves to urge caution in players to prevent abuse and wreckless behavior with powerful and poorly understood items. Singulo bag abuse is pretty rare, I've seen it once or twice on the station and the other times its always been during the end of round ffa. BoH needs diamonds and diamonds rely on RNJesus to get any quantity of them. Hell, in the last month of playing alone I only ever saw diamonds in stock because I mined them myself, the miners almost always get lost, go SSD or cargo goes full retard and exports anything mining brings back to centcomm. In terms of grief, this is a rare and seldom used tactic, made all the more obvious because the player needs to drag or carry the second bag, or steal one from someone else. Both of which can be seen a mile away and dealt with. I'm far more afraid of toxin bombers or baldie science unleashing their new hellmix and gib smoke. BoHs just require too many chips to fall in exactly the right place its basically a special event for it to even be possible.
  15. So... why do most of our regular heads of staff have fur and tails?
  16. I think having a Vox closet in medical would go a long way. For the most part, it should have these things: Specialized Vox Nitrogen tank: The default Vox tank. 2-6 Avaliable, pressurized to 606kPa Vox Anesthesic Tank: 80%N2O, 20%N2. 606kPa, would allow Vox to be put under in surgery without actually killing the poor bastards. And yes, this mixture does work, I tested it a few months ago with a cooperative Vox (Yikikiachi I believe, I honestly can't remember Vox names and call them all Kiki or Yaya) and he was put to sleep and woke up just fine when I removed the tank and replaced it back with his usual one. Charcoal Pills/Bottles: Just spare bottles of Charcoal/Anti-Toxin should a poor Vox be exposed to large amounts of Oxygen and forced to breath it. Pretty much every time I've ever treated a Vox in medbay they have Toxins damage. Vox Salbatumaul Pills: 10u Pill, 8u Salbatumal, 2u Charcoal. Salbatumal is technically toxic to Vox, so mixing in a small amount of Anti-toxin would give medical a go to treatment option if they need to treat a Vox with a large amount of Suffocation damage. Box of Cortial Stacks: Box with 4-6 CS's and an injector should a poor Vox have their stack removed by an incompitent doctor/sadistic member of the crew. I'm not 100% sure if Stacks are keyed to the individual box, but I've been forced to borg a few Vox who'se stack was remove and disposed of and we couldn't retrieve it before the Vox died.
  17. Really, my biggest complaint about the chainsaw is this; Why doesn't it spawn with a complimentary hockey mask?
  18. >Looks back at shitcurity thread and security players claiming shitcurity spawns from hostile players and greytide >shitcurity assaulting peaceful and nonthreatening crew and deconverted antags. Paradise folks. It's everyone's fault but the person who'se job it was.
  19. Problem is, even if it does come out on PC it will be on Origin... I'll pass.
  20. Howdy ^^ Sergey was fun to have around. Sorry I blew your arm off, but objectives are objectives, and I failed spectacularly.
  21. +1 More Roller beds And more wheel chairs! @FalseIncarnate: Mediborgs can store 1 roller bed, if they dispense their one they can't shoot out another one unless they use the dispenser on another bed to pack it up and store it.
  22. Did we reimpliment the crisis borg? Last I checked Medborg, Surgery Borg and Crisis borg were rolled into one, just as the engineering borg and Constructrion borg where made into one module. Frankly I prefer it this way, since the crippling overspecialization means you get one job you can only kinda do rather than having 3 or 4 jobs you can assist with to help the crew.
  23. I support this so long as there is discretion between taking a break/unable to progress due to outside limitations and just not doing the job. Medical not reviving people because the guy was mean is one thing, but not being able to clone people because no biomass is another. Can't wait for mining overhaul, here's to hoping it actually makes miners work.
  24. Medical has a shuttle to get off the station? I know of the mining shuttle, science shuttle and engineering shuttle, everyone else is trapped that I know of unless you could the teleporter.
