  1. Griefer Ian? That's not even possible. You're just a bad person in the way of a poor corgi who wants love, foods and belly rubs. Speaking of which. Ian needs the ability to roll over. Make belly rubs restore health for the poor guy.
  2. Everything that can go into an RPED can go into the autolathe. Just saying.
  3. Easy to abuse, but not sure I'd call it crap. If used to arrest legitimate suspects or wanted criminals, it's a good way to stop some chuckle fuck from disarming you. If used to slap and cuff some poor bastard who called you a comdom, than yeah it's just shitcurity with an RC car.
  4. Blueshield isn't security either. They are a bodyguard. Their primary (and effectively only) job is to keep the Heads safe and healthy. It's not their job to arrest or kill people. They incapacitate and get the head(s) to a safe area and treat their wounds. It's not your job to make arrests though you can restrain or otherwise watch over a threat until security arrives. And stop calling the Revolver 'Non-Lethal'. Tasers and Disablers are nonlethal, Revolvers are 'Less-Lethal', which means their intent is to incapacitate. When used responsibly, they can kill, and if the wounds aren't treated you'll die too. I feel BS should keep the Revolver. It suits the role, though should be seen as a last resort weapons. The only other change I would make would be a 'Red-Alert' Rifle or SMG in their office that fires rubber bullets as well, though I can't think of any way to prevent Blueshits from grabbing it early and wandering around with it in Green or Blue except to maybe make it spawn in an RnD lockbox that requires HoS or Captain access to open. I'm seeing a trend among the community in that because certain roles are listed under 'Security' in the manifest or have Security Channel access, they are being played like security officers. This includes Blueshields, Internal Affairs Agents, Magistrates and even the Head of Personnel or Captain on occasions. The ONLY role that should making arrests is Security Officers, if need be the Warden or Head of Security can apprehend a suspect if Security officers aren't available. If you don't spawn with a set of handcuffs, call the real Security Officers and focus on doing your own job instead of screwing up someone elses.
  5. I don't see any reason to make racial languages open to other races without some Karma cost. I'd rather see more custom languages that can be learned, similar to how Tradeband and Gutterspeak work. I would love to see things like Sign Language, which can't be broadcast over the radio, but could be used to communicate with people who are Deaf or in vacuum where sound doesn't travel. (This could also be accompanied with things like Hearing Aids to assist the hearing impaired, deafness as a starting condition that would require surgery to fix much like glasses and eyesight) Humans get 3 languages too, by the way. Their racial language, Sol Common (:1) , is just never used because hardly anyone knows it is there. Everyone able to speak Vox of Tajaran just doesn't really make sense to me. Antag specific languages would be interesting, Cultists, Shadowthralls and Traitors/Nuke Ops could always use entertaining ways to talk to each other.
  6. If Tajaran requires a tail and ears to speak, how can they understand each other the radio?
  7. Would make for an interesting RP, though let's be honest, greytide would make it their mission to toolbox and washing machine the poor bastard every round. @Rumiluntti: I'd honestly rather have the dog. Security has been getting bad from what I've seen, promoting a mutt or poo flinging monkey above them would maybe send a message.
  8. I think it's funny, most players seem unaware that the borg can modify his radio, not to mention the ability to insert additional decryption keys. Though, I don't consider Security Channel to be that sensitive, any fool can look up the frequency and get a 2nd headset, disable the mic and walk around with it like that.
  9. Why do they get a hardsuit, is my question? Can we give them a unique jumpsuit and a softsuit that doesn't slow them down (as much), really the space suit is only for midflight repairs or swapping out the battery, in extreme cases they might have to bail from their pod but they can usually flee unless the pod is on fire.
  10. You disgust me Supreme Master doesn't care what a heretic thinks.
  11. If the Spriter is okay with others using their work it's up to the Coders to get over it and remember they don't own SS13. As for the pods, I prefer the second design. Is there anyway to put klaxons or strobe lights on Security pods?
  12. All this thread makes me think of is how bizarre and hilarious if we event rounds of a Cult trying to appease and summon The Honkmother instead of Nar'sie and theme their abilities to match. And then the suckerpunch plot twist being that the Honkmother is a clown at all, just an ascended monkey who really likes bananas and was originally killed by a security officer.
  13. Pretty sure that's just called Warden.
  14. You do realize that a single click and a borg can disable an APC main breaker. This is a situational advantage they can force at will as long as they can see the APC of what ever room they are in. Flashlights reveal you, night vision does not. In CQC, first hit/stun is usually the victor, if you can't see your opponent you can't evade, it's pretty damn easy for a secborg to take down a blind opponent and cuff them. As I stated above, Malf AI rounds are my biggest concern here, because the borgs would be pretty unstoppable starting out with NV, all the AI has to do is shut the lights off or burst the circuit to smash them and the borgs will be able to prey upon +80% of the crew without much worry of retaliation.
  15. Actually you don't need to weld doors shut right now to remove the electronics, at least on emagged doors. I've just been opening the panel, cutting the wires and using a crowbar to shove the fried board out.
  16. Malf rounds mostly. AI can kill the lights at will, if all the cyborgs have night vision it's pretty damn easy to take out all of sec in short order if they can't see it coming, or really any antag that relies on darkness or stealth, only for a borg to be slightly farther away than the nearest lightsource to easily pick them out.
  17. Night vision should not be default for borgs. It'd be pretty overpowered. Only people who get Night Vision on spawning are Syndicate Nuke Ops and ERT/Deathsquads. The upgrade modules are terribly underpopulated, and making night vision an option shouldn't be that difficult, and it might encourage a few people to be mining borgs to speed up the process off getting tasty minerals. As for the backpack vs window, I've already stated my opinion. The backpack can be left open or shut as needed, precise clicks really aren't a problem as I can tell unless you are flailing to grab items. If you have problems with the current set up, you probably have problems getting screwdrivers out of toolbelts and such. The windows are just innately buggy in my experience, and the force update they do can completely stop what ever you are doing, moving, targeting someone, even typing or sending a message. It's just annoying. I play Medical Borg a lot (HYPO) and I can confirm that Cyborg Huds are pretty much identical to the eyepiece versions available. Medical HUD reads out the same, shows condition, if they are infected with a known disease, etc. Security HUD has no flash resistance, but that's just fine.I don't believe it would be that hard to add Mesons/Engineering HUD to the options.
  18. Mesons should be a Sensor option like Medical and Security HUD (Which all Cyborgs have.) Night Vision could be an upgrade through Robotics once mining get Uranium and research does their job (Like how RnD can make Night Visions, NV Mesons, NV Medihud and NV Sec Hud.) Similar to how VTEC works. Janitor Borg getting the improved mop through upgrades would be nice. As well as Service borgs getting better drink synthesizers, right now it's just beer and what ever they can snag from the bartender. Being able to fabricate toys as a service borg could make things interesting too, maybe even a laser tag item to play with the lonelier crew who don't play well with others. Security Borg laser/lethals should be reserved for Emags, they can already get a disabler cooler and hyper cells if Mining/Science is doing their jobs, which allows a Borg to rapidly put down fire. Being able to upgrade to a Hybrid taser would be nice, though. Integrated headlamps (like what Unbound Travels has) would be a godsend, imo. Robotics commands> Toggle Lights activates their flashlight (like how drones work.) and would remove the flashlight from their inventory. I drafted a post with several ideas for Cyborg Upgrades (through Robotics fabricator, just like VTEC and Mining Jetpack modules) but never got around to finishing it. Though, I do NOT want to go back to the module window. It's pointless and the backpack makes it much easier to deal with things. I wish borgs handled similar to how humans do (pressing 'e' to store items, pointing, etc...) but going back to that clunky window that remove focus from the game window if left open is fucking annoying, and makes what should be simple if labor intensive tasks (surgery, construction, apprehending suspects and cuffing them) annoying as you have to constantly pause to force the window open to refresh then close it so it doesn't prevent you from acting.
  19. My grandfather worked at a Hospital for 15 years. His job was 'Maintenance Worker.' You know what he did? He swept and mopped floors, dusted down and disinfected rooms after patients left them, washed windows and glass, cleaned up various messes, took out trash bags, replaced dead lights and was called onto fix any little problem the hospital came across. From mouse chewed wires, fixing tables and doors, broken light fixtures and general repairs. His rule of thumb is that if it was something that would take less than 15-20 minutes to fix, he'd take care of it. Otherwise he'd call a technician to work on it, like when the elevator would screw up or specific medical machine was broken.
  20. To be entirely honest I'd push for Janitor to be moved to an engineering position, as their job IS to keep the station serviceable. +1 for tools and Hazard Vest spawning in Janitor's closet.
  21. Local anesthetic would be pretty nifty, would probably function about the same as pain killers though. Giving Borgs a needle/bottle that synthesizes this would be super useful though. Just don't put it in the Hypo stim, that would probably get it abused.
  22. I keep the O2 tank in my pocket and a flashlight on my vest, usually. I shove the T-Ray into my internals box unless I'm using it, then it just goes in my pocket. That said, more inventory spaces would be bad, tool belts are sought after as is, making them even more valuable will just make it harder for jobs that can actually make good use of them (Scientists, occasionally janitors) having a harder time getting them. I know cargo CAN order them, but since when does Cargo order anything but what they need or Pizza and Booze?
  23. If at all possible, I'd love to see the Jukebox be de-constructible and rebuildable. Add something like a Capacitor or Scanner to increase the amount of songs that play from it. Could even add some speakers that could link to it to let people further away hear it. What songs to use would be up to the admins/coders, I'd suggest having some community input on it first, though for some reason I just want more 'Cage The Elephant' and stuff like 'No Rest For The Wicked' so I have something to listen to while I drink in the bar as a filthy tator. Also, I can't find a more appropriate song for SS13 than Short Change Hero
  24. I would fully support a secondary emag that was more stealthy, who'se effects where temporary but had limited charges. It does feel that the current emag is slightly overpowered, but it's one of the funnest Syndi items to play with. Really, all of the 'stealth' items are great (Agent ID, Voice Changer, Chameleon Suit, and even the No-Slip shoes) and good fun to play with, I only wish it where possible to get the full set AND a syndi balloon without spamming pray or killing another traitor and stealing their uplink.
