  1. I suggest doubling or tripling the amount of gas inside the station's holding tanks, especially oxygen. I easily ran them all dry with a few minor upgrades in less than 30 minutes using a single volume gas pump. Not only would this make building things like supermatter and thermoelectric engines more convenient and safer, but it could also lend it's hand towards more atmos collaboration with other departments to bring more gases since they no longer risk giving away all their precious gases, especially in the case of refilling cryo tanks and making draskygen. It would also allow the station to recover more easily from large breach events, although some station-wide vent upgrades might be prudent to take full advantage of it. I see no problems with this, even with increasing plasma since it would just breach and vent to space far before you run out just like it does now, but it would be a huge boost to properly built and contained experiments and engines. What do you guys think?
  2. Im not even sure the scrubber in there are set to scrub N2O which might alleviate the problem of medical staff laughing at all the gore.
  3. This brings up something else, the lowest temperatures you can set air alarms to (it does lower/higher than default if you change the temperature thresholds) still doesn't allow you to set the temperature extra low even on server room. When I tried to make a cold room for a Drask I had to either isolate or turn off the air alarm because the lowest settings would heat my -200C room and cause massive overpressure. If we had a heat-proof species this would apply on the upper side too.
  4. Without the stun there is no way possible for even a group of civilians to take on a borg. Even with 4 people you can't toolbox a borg down before it kills or arrests you all because you can't disarm his weapons. Maybe if borgs were weaker to certain physical attacks it would work but I doubt borg players would like that.
  5. So, we got this fancy N2O gas but the only thing it gets used for is anesthesia for medical which shouldn't ever run out. And 99.7% of rounds the N2O in atmos can't even really be utilized because it would be grief. So I propose some upgrades. First of all, N2O is an excellent mono-propellant and could be used to either make jetpacks faster or just make them last longer. Secondly, N2O, while inflammable at room temperature and pressure, is actually an excellent oxidizer once it gets heated up because it will decompose exothermically once it gets to around 600C, not only feeding its own reaction with the heat but also adding a ton of free oxygen to feed any secondary fires. I propose that N2O is made to decompose like this around 600C (or more for balance) into oxygen and nitrogen and release a small bit of heat in the process. Thirdly, N2O is often used recreationally. However in-game this has some difficulties. Mainly due to the threshold between laughing all the time and passing out 95% of the time is less than 1%(at least according to previous tests) difference and mixing tanks to 0.1% tolerances is pretty damn hard. I propose that the threshold for passing out from N2O is raised very slightly to allow people to wear N2O/O2 mixed tanks to run around and be high. This may also require an adjustment for the visibility thresholds for N2O in the air and it wouldn't be bad to increase some of the effects of being on laughing gas like lesser hallucinations. Fourth, N2O is often used for food sprays. If there was a way for the Chef to utilize cans of N2O to make like whipped cream cans, canned cheese, or cooking spray that would be cool. Possibly utilize small hand airtanks with a different color sprite to power the canned cheese which can be removed and recharged by atmos. Lastly, is chemical use, I don't know how this would be done, I would assume it would require a new device that allows canisters to be attached and utilized in the production of a chemical, most specifically ROCKET FUEL! From rocket fueled space pods to rocket fuel bombs, rocket fuel bottle rockets, ROCKET SKATES! Rocket jetpacks! Rocket fuel campfires! Actual Rockets and Missiles! The possibilities are endless! Feedback appreciated.
  6. FIne with me, they can always get botany to grow them anew.
  7. Personally I think energy bolas by themselves are OP and shouldn't exist but since they do they should only be allowed at high alert levels. Security already has such simple and easy ways to capture people. It doesn't make sense as it is that someone with a taser can beat someone with a fucking assault rifle in a fight and you are argueing that you need more options so that nobody can ever escape whatsoever.
  8. I would go for this. Maybe we can do this along with disarm having a chance to throw the item a few tiles.
  9. Honestly if engineering had just a large reinforced walled area with air (but not covered in vents) you wouldn't need extra built in engine sor changing engines. Currently if you want to build a supermatter engine or TEG you either have to build a large area that isn't going to be radiation or intruder safe due to lack of plasteel which still takes half the shift to build, you have to empty out some place like secure storage and modify a micro engine design to fit which takes twice as long to cram in such a tiny place, or you can take over an empty maintenance area and get arrested when your creation gets fucked by greytide and starts killing people. Im talking about atleast a 10x10 area with reinforced walls, likely a bit bigger. It should have power and start with air but have little to no vents (otherwise you gotta rip up the pressurized pipes anyways), and it wouldn't hurt to start with either extra plasteel or even just a small bit of plasma glass. This would give engineers space to build things safely and not immediately irradiate the crew or burn them to their deaths (hopefully since reinforced walls no longer are fireproof).
  10. This looks awesome, im all for it. It would be really cool if these could randomize on shift start of existing or not.
  11. Yeah, depending on how I was murdered and how it was setup I will use CMD. If he did really well like Rumi said then Ill 'forget' important details. If someone snuck up on me and garrotted me in a mask but they forgot to stash their PDA im not going to remember their exact name unless I broke free at one point or they fucked up and revealed themselves first. Usually I give security or the detective enough evidence to get on the trail but they are usually too lazy and it is their own loss. Like the other day I had a run in with a traitor and I told them it was a vox scientist, there was only one vox scientist on board so I knew who it was from the start but if security can't spend the 5 seconds to open their PDA and check the crew manifest than that is their problem. On the other hand if someone is a complete retard or asshole that tried to gib me or threw my body into space for absolutely no reason like changlings like to do then yeah, im going to remember a whole lot.
  12. I don't think it will be that safe considering a larger platform for engineers means more crazy engines that will horribly murder everyone. Or somewhere for atmosians to make plasma fire moats and shit. All they need is room to work which the current outpost doesn't provide. No one wants to spend 45 minutes building a floor and walls and filling it with air and power only for the round to end soon after without them ever starting their project. But a larger station area they can just start building? That shit is going to turn into either an engineering deathtrap or a haven for antagonists to hide in and a place for cyberaid to send all the toxins bombs and opened supermatter crystals to flush them out.
  13. I would support it. Part of the reason many engineers don't like to build on the outpost and instead do dangerous stuff on the station is because nobody will get to see their creations on the current outpost since it is engineer access only. People can build dangerous shit, make their special cliche bar, do whatever on klap island without issues. It might turn into a breeding ground for cultists or something but they could easily be shut down. Even without special BSA or whatever they could send a mech from robotics to fuck their shit up if they won't come peacefully. It might be interesting to see an assault on the second station from armed station members, possibly with a small ERT lead team.
  14. There certainly are some improvements to be had but a big part of the problem is atmospherics code is fucking weird and most people aren't that comfortable messing with it and doing any real changes. I do think atmospherics should be a much higher priority though. It doesn't feel much different now than when LINDA was first implemented and most of the early complaints about switch to LINDA where countered with the promise of future tweaks and upgrades to get a better balance between the efficacy of the system against the performance costs.
  15. It would be fun I think however it has a problem, engineers and such who would normally get the most gamesplay worth out of this round aren't going to start large mega projects and such without knowing its double extended. At the same time, many other people would quit if they knew it was double extended thus reducing population and spontaneous rp. I think it could work IF we knew it was a non-standard round AND had random admin spawned events that aren't super destructive. If they are spawning wizards and shit and xenomorphs the station would get fucked up even faster. Obviously this would take more admin planning, it might be helpful to consider making an admin eyes only list of scenarios and ideas, perhaps fed by community input, to feed such a series of scenarios so it isn't so difficult to always come up with multiple original ideas.
