I have never seen it being a problem really, even if all medic jobs are taken at join menu, you can go to HoP.
HoP would be the guy to ask about intern roles anyways, they have access to command channel and can coordinate with the relevant department head to get someone to help you out on your "first day on the job".
If that fails, take the job and mentorhelp away, the nerds will fight to death over the privilidge of telling their assorted medbay tip'n'tricks to anyone willing to listen.
-
Take a typical greytider, make his job be literally useless asshat in a deadly mech.
There is no reason for this guy to be a thing either, miners need their RIPLEYs to themselves, Odysseus is for paramedic, combat mechs belongs into armory, and HONK mechs belong in hell. Nothing for this guy to drive.
Nurse is just that, medic with less access and less responsibility. Great for those who want to learn.
-
I don't like the idea and I don't like the pain in the ass it would be to get going and keep operational.
Too much admin babysitting for a role we don't need.
-
Mech pilot sounds like a bad idea, super bad.
Medical has nurses and I would count Maint. tech as engineering equivalent. Rest sound like more pain in the ass than any use for anyone.

Lings can become a person with access to lockboxes if they feel they have a real need for the firepower.
Both lings and vampires have innate powers to make guns less needed.
Shadowlings can convert the people they need in additon to the innate power.
Borers are not antags.
The statement that all antags should have RnD way to access guns in ridiculous, even taters have to buy emag for the sweet sweet boxcracking.
All this would do is to allow science to become the shitfest it was before the boxes.
EDIT:
About the lockboxes being a hassle, people that should have those items can open the lockboxes.
You can use the lockbox itself for research levels, no need to open it.
-
It just adds unnecessary hassle compared to the working lockboxes.
I really do not see the reason why lockboxed stuff should be avaliable to regular scientists, that's what these systems are all about after all.
-
Like it has been stated multiple times, if there is a way to open lockboxes illegitimately as non antag, it will become the new meta.
The protolathe lock also disallows using the items for research.
Literally shittier and more annoying version of lockboxes.

I missed the split from BestRP but I was around before it happened and few months after.
I've been honking for way too long.
-
I have no idea why but I'm laughing my ass off.
Art. True art.
-
FoS can make even vox and nymphs look cute, strange and impressive talent.
-
You are seriously saying that RD should stand in front of the protolathe all round every round?
Instead of lockboxing the stuff scientists shouldn't have?
Who would want to play that?
Lockboxes allow antags to still get their antaggy hands on the goods but prevents the scientists from printing a small armory "just in case".
-
Competent RD has nothing to do with rampant shitters printing out literal armories into their backpacks just to validhunt and to be dicks.
RD is not supposed to guard the printer.
-
If it causes anal anguish in such magnitude that you can see on the PR, it must be great.
Top kek, top snek.
But seriously, who gives a shit?
-
You can just slap limbs back on now, broken bones actually need some surgery to fix.
Big buff on a race that does not need a buff at all.
Nope.
-
What monster would think of such a thing?!
What kind of twisted and tormented soul would code it in?!
Is it bad that I have no idea the hell half of those -deres even mean but I'm horrified!?!?!?

33. Something I've never seen someone do but I know it can be done: Inject a power cell with plasma and stick it on a stunprod or in a stun baton and then leave it laying around, ideally in a place where your maim/kill target will find it. The next time they zap someone the power cell will explode. If you just have to maim them, congratulations, your job is probably done. If you have to kill them, well, they'll be softened up and much easier to finish off, so make sure you're nearby with a toolbox or some other inconspicuous item to robust them with. Bonus: it'll look like you're just there to protect the person they zapped!
Just throw it at them and scream, they think you fucked up your epic attack and in 90% of the cases try to murder your ass with the prod.
Even if they just run away, you can get away with the good old "It was just a prank, mr. officer sir."

16. If you are a medical traitor, fill one of those labeled syringes (Charcoal, spaceasillin) with liquid deathmix. Your target is more willing to let you inject if they think they know what's in it.
17. Insulated gloves are overrated, multitools are gold. Just go to the toilets or some other meaningless spot and start testing wires from top to bottom or visa versa. You have 50% chance to find the all-access light before you hit the zappy-owie wire.
18. Always have table parts in your backpack. They can be assembled instantly into some maint tunnel while you run from the law, slows them down tremendously even if they have a wrench.
19. Space lube is great but can be confiscated. Steal the plant'b'gone spray from garden and fill it with water. With 10 unit spray it can make one tile next to you slippery.
20. Break a bone objective? Throw floor tiles at your target until you hear a crack. When the officers arrest you, go all "It was a prank bro! I didn't know they hurt!" Usually you get off with a slap on the wrist while normally doing that objective you get charged with attempted murder.
21. Science traitor? Get a laserpointer and slap the best micro laser you can get into it, blind your target with the guise of being an asshole and offer to get them to medbay. "I'm sorry bro, didn't mean to cause any real harm!" Morgue IS technically in medbay...
22. Are you a slime? Good for you. Carry a glass shard with you and furiously self harm while running from the law, you bleed slippery water everywhere. Fucking slimes...

It would also be nice to know that it worked, not just crack the vial and hope to hear paniced screaming in radio chatter soon.

Never again.

Reworking the health system in a way that resemble's DF's, doing away with health points and instead making it more realistic. All in all, make it more realistic and much less forgiving.
Strange moods and tantrum spirals when?
Every day. Only explanation I have for most of the shenanigans.

Free karma for doing your job is not going to happen.
Just saying.

Oh good, someone is already going to torture you with salmiakki.
Also, salmiakki is the best shit ever.

Simple answer to most of the questions here:
