Slime people have as much lore as any other race, just nobody has written them a history. Greys have their hive fleet, tarajan have their slavemasters, even kidan have their empire. All slime people have is that they're primitive aliens that NT picked up.

I use LOOC a lot to explain game mechanics to people since I hate ((OOC brackets)), never been in any trouble for that but is there an official stance?
Since guiding someone through R&D while ghosted might be a bit ambiguous.
-
Yes please, get rid of it, or at least apply it to certain weapons only (broken bottles stick a lot IRL don't they?).
Its annoying as hell when your only immediate weapon is inexplicably taken from you by the damn RNG.

The way its been explained to me is that you don't pay 45 karma points to be a super OP bird person/have a different gameplay experience entirely, you pay it because being allowed to SKREEE at everything is cool as hell.
The idea is that they're RP things (since karma points are given for RP'ing apparently) with a few differences to make them play smoother, not like different classes or anything.
The karma cost is so high possibly in part because lore-wise vox are supposed to behave in a very different way to other species, tarajan on the other hand are just Arabic catmen (IN SPAAACE!).
That said a few special vox things would be pretty cool, same way some tarajan robes would be, or unathi regenerating limbs and a whole bunch of other stuff for everything else, there's like a few dozen people coding this stuff at most, species fluff is pretty low on their list for the most part.
I really don't like the idea of having to breathe plasma though, that'd make refilling tanks very tedious.
TLDR: The impression I've got is that Races are (meant to be) RP not gameplay things.
Obligatory "Vox are not meant for normal gameplay".

This isn't too bad...
Though what would be better would be giving fat people constant regeneration.
-
You might want to add that slime people are mostly space-proof.
Since they have no organs their don't take any damage from low pressure, they just have to wear a space worthy helmet to suffer no ill effects.
I've tested this a few times, not sure if its WAD or not but its been that way for a while.

Perhaps placing xenobotany where the toxins storage room is now (just below robotics) could work?
Its not like any of the canisters are ever used anyway, and we could always stick a similarly sized storage in the empty space between toxins mixing and the shuttle dock if people really miss their N2O.

Damnit.
Probably to accommodate other changes I guess, but it was working so well, why change it?

I think they're great.
Combat not being all about who hits first can only be a good thing,. getting the drop on someone will still give you a massive advantage but not an instant win.
Prolonging combat isn't in itself a good thing IMO, but its so much better than it being all over in 10 seconds.
That, and pain crit also knocks you unconscious, making it so much more practical to kidnap people.

And some very short hair that doesn't look awful would be great.
What's so bad about Jensen hair?

9/10 Glory to Nanostotzka.

Khorne is better.
And more inevitable.
-
More access?
Bad idea, we already have blueshields looting cargo bay for speedloaders, just imagine the inevitable abuse that would result from security offices being able to get into R&D.
That, and would you really trust the equivalent of a mall cop (IN SPAAACE) with super high end explosive materials/the morphine cupboard?
"getting into places you have a decent reason to be in" is what the AI is supposed to be for anyway.
That said, we do have tempoary pass cards, I don't see any problem with giving the HoS additional access and they then dishing out pass ID's as the situation demands it.

I've tried many things to cut off a mob's head, but for some reason I can't get them to actually fall off. Give me a proper method that guarantees decapitation and I'll fix it for you (if I can, that is).
You can't go wrong with a 50 unit potassium pill followed by a 50 unit water one.
100% gibs, every time, and it leaves a head, usually.
Technically decapitation right?
-
I want to know tried to play a "friendly" ling and beat them with the blunt side of a fireaxe!
Occasionally an open minded HoS enlists a vampire/changeling as a super cop.
Having a legitimate lynching under those circumstances is always super satisfying.

If you are prone and whisper you die. That is a feature, not a bug. Unsure about the skeletonizing.
The skeletonizing is variable, either you skeletonize right away or you skip straight to being "bloated and rotting".
-
No sadly. I do wish atmos got a special gasmask that had SOME use.
Protects you from pepperspray/holy water/poly acid doesn't it?
-
There's an amusing feature that when you whisper when asleep, you instantly become a skeleton and die.
Its great for freaking co workers but its a bit immersion destroying.

I disagree, I think that the paranoia is a good thing. It provides conflict and stimulation.
...Is that what you call a complete lack of trust and total breakdown of civility?
Then again, you're not wrong.

190 max cap bombs in escape.
-
I think extended rounds should lack the "enemy communication intercepted-code blue" round start thing just so people know not to be completely paranoid, folks won't RP if they're on the edge looking out for antags.
-
Nothing is worse than taking a borg's power cell out only for it to scamper off...
They should at least move at walk speed when de-powered IMO.
-
Alternatively.. spawn two e-swords with your traitor crystals, create a double-bladed one, then lap up those delicious tears when security can't taze you.
-
I vote for Green Energy! None of this filty radiation stuff. Solar power all the way!
The best thing about the SM is that you can power it by throwing people into it...
-
I honestly prefer the SM, I think its cooler and less of a hassle, and its not even that complicated to set up (just read the damn manual Jesus).
Sure its a bit bland feature wise but that's just a minor let down.
OPTIONAL slime mechanics/alterations based off of biology

Yeah, very much so.
At the moment there's no "way" that slime people are supposed to behave, so naturally they just slip into generic/griefy roles.
I'm not one to bother much for RP, but Kidans buzzing and tarajan being asshole catmen really help make rounds sometimes.
It'd be great if slime people could have something similar that defines them, culturally or whatever, just to make them more than OP translucent baldies.
