  1. Aka get shadey a home >:V
  2. Yes, they're separate. We'd just need to find a suitable webhost and get the heads inn on it
  3. Just move the forums/wiki to a dedicated hosting service. Database doesn't need to move since it's largely irrelevant if the server is down, anyways. I say hosting service, because having two physical hosts is just bound to generate friction/problems. Also, because Melbutts is supreme overlord and we can't have competition. Except the fact that the forum uses a database as well.. If Mel goes down so will the DB the forum is connected to, and we're back at square 1
  4. I've been debating this for a long time Hopefully we can get it done
  5. Hmmm..... Yeah, totally different things, most definitely. I think they meant they want it to be different, referring to real life equivalents
  6. No We're not adding anything to the loadout menu that could have an effect of gameplay in terms of balance, no matter how minor some people claim it to be
  7. Regen

    More Hyposprays

No, this is why players balancing things is horrible, you think it's a good idea, but its not
  8. addictions in themselves are stupid They shouldn't be RNG based
  9. These look really good! Love the sling one
  10. Getting teleported isn't something that should be seen as a privilege To be honest it's happening way too often already
  11. But that is exactly what you ARE doing, there are already restrictions on what your character can do to prevent "marry sues" everywhere, and how do you begin to explain the captain who was a janitor last shift, or vice versa. It does not add up. Characters retaining knowledge over rounds has massive flaws in them, and we have NEVER said that its "canon"
  12. First off, that's not part of the issue, having an "ic excuse" isn't a problem Secondly, shifts being after one another has never been confirmed in lore.
  13. In the admin team we are constantly discussing what to do to improve and make paradise a better place. For some time now, we've been talking about the issue of security and how antags are always branded an antag the second any "antag" item is found on them, for instance the thermal glasses, which are disguised as a pair of mesons. What do you think, as the community, is a fitting line to draw here? Should literally any and all items be known to security, or should only the obvious handgun and pipebomb be? This would change how antags gets processed by security, if we make a clear definition that "stealthy items" such as the sleepy pen and the AI detectors are "not known" to security, they won't instantly get fucked over for the possession of a pen in their backpack. On the other hand, this goes to the whole discussion of "security having to play dumb", while I am not big on forced RP, I see it necessary, and a part of RP itself to not always know about everything.
  14. I agree with some of these points, i'll go over them First off, the game is definitely too easy, changes like the Tesla engine and LINDA make most of engineering and atmos a very boring job, you basically wait 40 minutes and hope that some bomb goes off so you can work on restoring the area. The chemistry change to goonchem made it so that there's no "one chem heals one type of damage" anymore, but it also severely buffed all medkits on station. Everyone is so goddamn entitled, people complain over LOOC if they don't have their way, people will have week-long grudges about that one guy that didn't clone them. There are so many observers that just fly around and complain about the slighest mistake people does, engineer didn't set up the tesla? Wow what a fucking idiot. Everything is oriented around the "balance" bullshit, everything has to be "balanced", and by balanced, it means that a selected few thinks it's balanced. See: Tasers. Nothing is made hard anymore, "complexity for the sake of complexity" is a sin.
  15. Pets got watered down about the time Robotics got a carbon-copy Ian that has a red visor and shoots sparks, the Captain got an annoying little fox and Security got a murder spider that will attack crew if it gets bashed once by a space carp. By that argument we should just remove any pet that isn't Ian. Except removing already added pets is much harder, which is why it's much better to just never add them
  16. But.. The Chapel isn't private property, it's all owned by Nanotrasen. If anything the chaplain can kick him out and security can arrest him for minor trespassing and creating a workplace hazard, he did abuse genetics to kill dogs
  17. Yes, but they should be at the bottom of the priority list. First on the list is always HoP, after that it's a vote
  18. This thread again? Just, no Adding a pet for every department and their sub-departmen just waters out the whole charm of having a pet. Heads having a pet is plenty
  19. I gave the admins on discord the ability to change their nickname Never again
  20. Please don't take it personal, too many people take their suggestion getting shot down like it's everyone fucking hates them It's a logical suggestion, but it doesn't fit Paradise and our "model" so to say
  21. Not happening, one thing about a player complaint is that I want the poster to feel that they can post without them getting metagrudged or what have you by the player in question, another important reason as to why I made them private in the first place is that, you as players really have no business with what goes behind the curtains, if you have "input" about a player complain then make one yourself, we can add one to one
  22. Wow your post is a mess :V Yes, weapons permit is an access thing you can give to ID's which will make Beepsky not beat you over the head if you're having a weapon out close to him. This would allow security to see who actually has a permit to wield that RnD printed laser cannon and who doesn't
  23. Give some form of indication that the person has a weapons permit, like how the locality implant works.
  24. We forgot to meet our bi-monthly quota of mentor sacrifices and the internet gods got mad
