  1. Dead space with its R.I.G. brought up an interesting idea - what if RnD could research and produce external suit sensors system which works better and offer more function then built-in ones? Basic ones offers functionality of Maxed out suits sensors but also give two more things - when you die, your suit produce loud flatline noise which everyone on the same screen with you would hear. And the second option is that when people examine you they could guess a bit how healthy you are - sensors would change colour seen in Examine text them more wounded you are. Blue for perfect health, green for slight damage, yellow for moderate damage, red for serious wounds, blinking red is critical and black is dead. Such sensors are also harder to disable then built in ones. Advanced ones have built-in emergency injectors you can fill with medicine and which will be automaticaly used after certain threehold of damage.
  2. There are two spare hardsuits in secure storage in engineering already. And one on the outpost + one spacesuit.
  3. Integrating IAAs, magistrate and NT rep into sec more would help. If IAA would be able to get into departments for investigation they could help security alot. Because shit scientists violating SOP is more like job for them and RD then for security. And NT rep is alone/rare part of the crew to effectively help security, its also not his job. NT rep reports to centcom about situation on station in general. Remote ID changes sounds briliant but that would also give ALOT of abuse potential and also potential for powergame. Antag stole high level ID? Just terminate such ID remotely.
  4. I suggest spliting Forensic technician into standalone job. Its like detective but with more aim for working in the lab. Rework detective office - add a tiny morgue with one tray here, additional autopsy scanner and scalpel. Also would be neat to add some kind of forensic database detective and forensic tech can update. Maybe detective scanner can send data here every time detective make a print and empty out internal data? Prison guard would be a good idea. Warden is alone(or mostly alone if there is brig physician) to do his job inside brig. No-slip jackboots might be good, but their downside still can be easily negated by shoe rags and they offer some foot protection. Also that would somewhat reduce value of janitor galoshes - the only crew no-slip footwear. And people also can easily get jackboots in clothes vendor. Loltaser problem might be solved by removing Hybrid taser. Instead officer will start with voucher similar to one miners have. It can be redeemed in secvend to get either disabler or ordinary taser. We might also give security firearms loaded with stun or rubber bullets. They are less-then lethals but on the other side lacks instastun capability. Also security should be a bit more free in using violence with codes increased but more restricted during green. Once there is nothing wrong happpened security dont bother crew at all. If you trouble security during red however - get ready to be shot repeatedly with rubber in your ass. Or maybe even lasers. Its understandable that security are not always the best people. It however does not justify acting like asshole towards them and preventing them from doing their jobs. UPD. If we dont have to return webbings how about adding dispatch radio to secs? Station bound radio worn as attachement for jumpsuit. Its have only Security Intercom channel access and have its own radio code like . So comms sabotage would not be so effective as before for nuke ops.
  5. There's actually I THINK 2 more Mining suits in the storage room (The room north of the Western airlock.) Iknow there's lockers in there anyway, I THOUGHT there was hardsuits too, but tbh I may be misremembering. If I'm not though, you could support up to 5 miners. There are six miner lockers in total but only three hardsuits. It would not be hard to build second mining EVA on the left side of the outpost near the outpost medbay and put three more hardsuits here. Medical equipment problem might be solved by adding more huds to medbay. Doctors rarely ever take anything from the lockers outside defibs anyway.
  6. Honestly I think it would be muсh better to get ant automatiс radio message when someone is SSD for too long just like when someone arrive at station or moved to сryostorage. Let people put their department mates in сryo and return their gear to its respeсtful plaсe. Its not hard to PM admin for permission. There was not suсh an oссasion when admin denied me permission for returning SSD things baсk to plaсes and then сryo them.
  7. Sometimes I think it would be a good idea to make small dorms like outposts have inside every department where people who need to afk for a while can take a nap in-character. Because its not always possible to AFK properly by heading to dorms and lying in sleeper so you would log-off as soon as your connection is lost for some reason during you being AFK.
  8. We also can give clothes protection values from stamina damage. Padded clothes like military jackets or winter coats could soften up stamina punches to the chest.
  9. Why you even need different sprites? Dont we all here have Really, that RP game is all about it. Lots of text everywhere and pixels are made just to make the game easier to play. SS13 would be hard with ASCII instead just like Dwarf Fortress.
  10. Thats also why you dont wear your department clothes or even use gear from it for murder. Dress in clothes from vendor or get uniform of other department. People often leave their jumpsuits in changing room carelessly. Thats a good opportunity to get a disguise to fool security and your target.
  11. Its still RP server. RP is just not enforced here. People who want RP - would RP. People who dont want RP - would not RP while its not toxic for people around. Thats also why we have karma system. Its made to encourage good roleplay and overall positive behavior on server which leads to fun for everyone. And most clowns I see are just annoying greytiders.

    Flare guns

I have to point out that just making metal insert into barrel would not make flare gun combat worthy. It would still blow up when combat shells are used. However conversion kit to fire some more specialised shells from vendor sounds like a good idea. Maybe chance of blowing up would be reduced still. So if you want proper one-shot shotgun pistol you would still need a military full-metal flare gun.

    Flare guns

Thats sounds like a better idea. Its easier to get flare gun from miner buy buying or tradiing one. Also would make it availible not only to science who have no need in makeshift shotguns - they can just make better weapons anyway.

    Flare guns

You get one advanced miner scanner in your locker for free now. That voucher option is no longer needed. It was valid in the past when miners started out with simple scanners and had to actually buy automatical one. Also I dont think its a good idea to make flaregun upgradeable. That would make it a very very greytide weapon while military flaregun is a strictly traitor weapon. We also have makeshift shotgun already, the problem is that its reciever can be only made in protolathe.

    Flare guns

A simple idea for miners. Both loyal and traitorous. Add two flare guns and flare ammo for them. Flare gun - cheap red plastic single shot flare pistol which can fire flare round to light the area. Small enough to fit in any pocket and can fit on the belt/inside suit slot of hardsuit. You get it from mining vendor for 800 points. You can buy a box of flare shells here as well. You can also get a Flare gun kit for your mining voucher which replaces current obsolete mining scanner option. It contains flare gun itself and spare flares. Flare gun can be chambered with shotgun shells but have a high chance to blow up in your hands when fired - breaking bones in your hand at best and blowing it off at worst. Military flare gun - good old soviet military flare gun made of gun steel. Same size of flare gun but with ability to safely fire shotgun shells - its effectively a compact single shot shotgun pistol. Its availible in the uplink for traitorous miners. Flare shell - tiny but bright flare fitted inside standart shotgun shell. You can load it inside any flare gun or fire it from any shotgun. Lights a small area just like emergency flare but for shotter time. Immune to shadowlings skreech. Deals tiny amount of burn damage when it hits someone and set people soaked in flameable liquids ablaze.
  16. Why Im thinking Lifeweb now? Maybe because male and female sprites are really different here? But damn, that would make ALOT of work for spriters and coders. They would have to make sprites for every species and every piece of clothes to make it work.
  17. Antag tokens should be given only when someone's antag was spoiled by admin actions somehow. Like shuttle forcecalled/recalled etc. And instead of giving antag on request at any time that player could ask for antag when there is less antags then needed - one of the nukies gone SSD, someone asked admin to remove antag from him etc. Person with token would have an option to be a replacement antag.
  18. Greytide must suffer. And we better make it easier for IAAs to do their job. For now only magistrate and NT rep are playable. Ordinary agents are usually ignored by everyone and their boss - magistrate is a rare visitor to station.
  19. I actually like idea of unique hud and consoles. Especially of the hud would look like that unique wide sunglasses they have in their locker already. Men in black style.
  20. Time to play Sherlock Holmes! Airlock is welded shut to prevent clown from escaping. Done by Blueshield All people close to ID are mostly security and lone IAA, just look at their clothes and backpacks HoP seems to be hiding from the clown like a pussy HoS is arresting the clown captain actually have some balls unlike the HoP, but I still hope he also demoting HoP for being such a spineless coward - Stabbed woman seems to be the guy who made screenshot. Just look at the health doll))) And its look more like damage from falling on lube. That cargo tech also looks suspicious. I have strong suspicion its a blood on his hands here. Greytide never changes
  21. Thats exactly the reason why I stopped playing officer and some other skilled people too. It does not matter how hard you work. People will always hate you due to one bad apple in the team and they will make your life hell. Just because they can. And regarding "being able to shoot sec when escaping" - it would only make the thing worse for people because security will just shoot to kill everyone who present any real threat. And will be completely right.
  22. Honestly magistrate and IAAs could use both medical and security records just to check out paperwork. Its sad that they either shitters or inactive. Pro-active inspector IAA could make interesting RP.
  23. They are in limited numbers still. So you will not use them generously. Its cheaper to just use synthflesh patches.
  24. Agreed with this statement here, at least on the level being discussed in this thread. It's one of the reasons that, despite the fact I think Goon's medical vending machines are really neat, I'd rather not see them added to Para because....it invariably means that only severe injuries will ever warrant a trip to medbay---otherwise, just buy things from a vendor and be done with it. Put just one machine near surgery and restrict it with medical access so only medical personel can use it? It would be very useful to be able to replenish things like trauma kits, gause, salve etc. chemistry cant do such things.
  25. KEEP DRILLING YOU PIECE OF SHIT But yeah, a drill would be neat for that sort of thing, and add way more tension than just emagging, plus would allow you to defend yourself whilst also taking longer in the process and being louder. A fair tradeoff in my opinion. We need armoured clown mask coming in complect with drill
