  1. Some kind of emergency nano-salve for ipcs would be neat. Having O2 lockers more useful would be neat as well. Maybe remove internals from boxes all together and give crew emergency aid kits? Tiny red sealed plastic bags filled with very small amount of medicine. They would contain: 1 charcoal pill, 1 emergency injector, 1 vial bactericyde salve(prevents wounds from getting infection), 1 emergency bandage(stops bleeding, 1 use) and 1 emergency flare. The bag itself cannot be refilled with anything but you can keep it in your pocket. ipc would have emergency repair kit. Orange sealed bag with liquid soldier, 1 flare and emergency nanopaste tube. Drask would have blue kit similar to human one, but with something which coold cool the body down for short time. Vox would probably have no injector but more charcoal pills.
  2. That would not be LED but just makeshift flash. But flashes are easy to come by already. You already can steal one from security checkpoint lying in unsecure locker and there are plenty in robotics.
  3. Wow. Did not know that. Always thought the chance is absolute randomness. Maybe other builds just work the other way. Well, LED flash could just not burn out permamently then but the chance of cooldown is twice when used frequently bigger.
  4. Normal flash have random chance to burn out for good. It can burn out after a long row of uses or just at the first use. LED flashes trade off random chance of permanent burning out for guarenteed but temporarily cooldown after certain amount of uses in row.
  5. I got some new ideas for green code weapons based out of flash which could be produced by RnD: 1) LED flash - flash using LED instead of bulb. It will never burn out however the device itself is not perfect - it will overheat after 4 uses in row becoming unusable for a short time until it coolsdown. So its bad for stunlocking borgs but good for people who use flash occasionaly - they have no need to replace it after it suddenly burn out or carry a spare one along. 2) FLASH-light- hybrid of seclight and flash. You can use it like flashlight or point it into someone face and press the button. can be attached to energy gun or taser just like seclight and used in AoE mode(by using button on top of the screen). It have a fair chance to burn out and become completely useless however - carry a screwdriver and ordinary flash along for that case so you can replace the bulb inside. 3) Flashpack -backpack type weapon. You carry it on your back and it blinds and deafens people around you in a decent area. Its strong enought to get throught sunglasses and bowman headsets(but they will weaken the effect however. Only welding helmets and earmuffs will offer complete protection. They user himself must wear built-in earpiece and visor to protect himself from stunnig himself(will deploy like hardsuit helmet. Visor protects from welder. Earpiece occupates both ears and have no radio, blocks all sounds from outside)
  6. Falling down should deal a bit of brute damage. Either when you stunned or dropping down with *fall prone verb. Sleep and rest would be safe for that but would have delays for both droping and getting up.
  7. They have batons and jackboot sounds already. We just need voice distortion when talking while wearing sec gasmask.
  8. Voxygen tank fits any slot oxy tank would do. So suit slot of external clothing is a valid place for it.
  9. Sounds useful, why not? At least RnD would be more likely to give blueprints for lathes.
  10. Well, sounds valid with gas tanks but I can't understand with IPCs - cable coils are already very plentful on the station. So anyone(not only IPC) can easily get one in tool storage or lying in the maints. Engineers just have vendor with them and science/cargo can produce them in lathes. Welders are less common somewhat but not a lot. And red toolboxes with emergency welders are not uncommon in O2 lockers. So balance would not be tempered with seriously.
  11. Did you ever flusher you starting box as IPC because you dont need either chems or internals? Did you do so as vox for the same reason?(Both facemask and oxygen dont fit you) I think that should be changed. Make it so: - IPC would have emergency welder and some cable inside their box instead of internals and injector. - Voxies and Plasmamen would have spare tanks of their respectful breathing gases inside their boxes for emergency uses. Voxies would have spare vox facemask in the box instead of standart one. - Security officers would have security gasmask replacing the facemask. Because why you even need mask when you have roundstart access to cool gasmask?
  12. I think we need job tied objectives but they must be for something really exceptional. They must be a challenging for players.
  13. But the problem is that: there is like you said three or four pairs of sunglasses to protect from the flash. Thats is not a lot. Plus rig helmets offer protection. But to gain protection from pepperspray one can now just take cheap sunglasses in loadout menu and become immune to spray completely from the roundstart. Regardless from the job. Even MDs need to equip their medical HUDs, they dont spawn with them on(and HUDs are limited in numbers). Thats does not look fair for me that already not very powerful weapon could be countered in so cheap way.
  14. And I fail to see how homogenizing races and extinguishing their differences makes for good RP. The IPC's that look and act perfectly human are enough as is. You can RP IPC as cyborg rather then robot if you want. Sure, you can do so know, until you are gibbed and positronic brain is dropped from you.
  15. What is codewise that brain would act the same as ordinary MMI but unlike it cannot be disasembled? Its designed to keep the brain alive for endefinitely long time and is made with some BS tech, so you cannot decosntruct one and remove the brain without damaging the brain itself. Because its just RP feature.
  16. This. Flash is absolutely devastating against those who don't have flash protection (not many people will get it, to be honest--far less than a year ago, largely due to random maint); one quick AoE flash and that person is not only blind, but can't control their movements, making a quick baton all that much easier. People dont always wear sunglasses but when they do they could be only tased/batoned now. Because spray is blocked even easier then flash. Splash shield for butcher, medics, scientists sounds neato by the way. Nice addition to medical saw. Maybe even give to tators on set with chainsaw.
  17. I can understand when people mistake IPC or slimepeople for humans. But how can they mistake other races? All of them have rather alien names and looks unique.
  18. Thats interesting to know. Thank you. Would keep that in mind. But still its very unlikely for eyewear not designed for for protecting eyes from things coming into them to give reliable protecting from the spray. Security sunglasses(and their brig phys medical counterpart) being also ballistic googles could offer such protection(but I doubt it would be perfect) and science googles are especialy designed for that. But when medical/diagnostic HUD and any other not close fitting glasses makes you outright immune to spray thats pretty eliminate any need in it. There is nothing for now that spray can do but flash cannot even in his weakened form it is now. So only science googles and shilded HUDs should protect from spray reliably. That would by the way make science googles more use. People rarely ever use them now. Maybe add new craftable shit for greytide? . Make them look more like IRL agressive football fans.
  19. Thats not true. People always nicely remember unusual and snowflakey things. Plasmamen being extremely rare WILL take people's attention for sure unless that plasmaman take the job outside of working with people(virologist, xenobiologist, very work loving miner e.t.c). And people also tend to remember the names and look of their department mates. Any department head who worth his position is also well remembered even outside of department.
  20. But only the science googles and mesons fit the face close fitting enough to protect te eyes. The first ones are especialy made to protect eyes from chemical spills. But the rest of eyewear and especially medical/classic sec huds(which could be holograms) are not designed to protect against that. Some spray would still get into eyes. And moreover - spray is also highly painful when inhaled. Person with his eyes covered could be slightly resistant to spray but not outright immune like now. Greytider with sunglasses would be completely immune to both spray and flash. So only people with gasmasks(or both facemask and science googles) would be immune to spray completely. People with either facemask or science googles would be suffer but not as bad: either drop shit but have no vision mess or dont drop shit but dont see anything Officer with security mask and his HUD on would not be happy to get into his own spray but nothing dangerous for him. Slight vision inpairment but nothing more. Someone with sunglasses would be hurt but slightly less then without them.
  21. But plasmamen are rare. That fact already make them very distingushable. You think people would not take a note that their Head of Security is a plasmaman? They will and if they suddenly see any other plasmamen which was not there roundstart/had no arriving message they would find out who is it very quickly.
  22. Officers have gasmasks in their lockers. So removing protection from eyewear would not do any harm to them. And anyone with any glasses is effectively immune pepperspray while prisoners... well there are more then enough tools for control of prisoners already. Like wall-mounted flash, which stun long enought to get inside and handcuff. While perma have gas distribution system with sleep gas. Why pepperspray should be the designated tool for that? Making it a reliable pair for flash would be better so having sunglasses(or just any, any eyewear) would not be automatical advise to being tased/batoned. That would as well give some use for spare sprays in equipment room. IAAs and heads could ask warden for them if they want. For now spray is only used on people who are already helpless and by brig physician who is non-combatant.
  23. Well, using often flash and spray I found out that they are not as good as they could be and there is some idea. Pepperspray: work as its now but is blocked only by rig helmets, bio and radiation hoods, medical masks, any masks providing internals. All the googles but science googles(and maybe IAA large shades to make them more unique and to prevent shitsec from spraying them) would not give any protection against it or would just reduce the vision reduction. IPCs are immune to spray because they can't inhale it obviously. Flash: Works as its now but IPCs are more vulnerable to it now. They would be stunned by sensory overload just like borgs do. Some buff to its second mode could be nice however. So everyone without protection around in close proximity would drop their shit from their hands. That way both tools would be useful for security and they would also work nicely in set. If the not-so-dangerous crook wear mask - flash him. If the crook wear sunglasses - spray him. If he wear both - well, baton him hard. Welding helmet while protecting against both when pushed down would reduce vision by itself which is fair tradeoff for it.
  24. Maybe make their brains special in the way they cannot be put into human body and vice versa? Special case or something.
  25. We can replace all of IPC external parts as "prothesis". Could we just do the same with the brain? An option in internal organs to choose MMI as brain.
