  1. I always saw pepperspray as a lesser crowd control option, you can spray it a few tiles after all, good for keeping back crowds.
  2. Yeah catching runners, specifically stopping runners, all the officer has to do is click and that's it, over. The stun setting is the lazy setting as it is regardless, having to actually use the tasers disable setting once or twice after golden bolting them or using the baton isn't that strenuous, and like I said it's give runners a bit more of a fighting chance. I hate to use the in real life fallacy and all, but 100% subduing someone shouldn't take 10 seconds when all you use is one taze. That's exactly what I'm suggesting, a few seconds off the stun time. Instastun is shit and all but if it weren't omniuseful to the extent that it currently is, 90% of the issue fades away.
  3. yeah, lotsa robust stuff if you know how to use it, still doesn't help with the taser being a situation ender 2/3 times because whoever clicked first cuffed you. no they op nerf pls Just a personal pet peeve more than anything, I honestly think we'd have funner times if sec had reason to use more than one pew pewer, as I said above the rest of their arsenal never has a reason to be used. Unless of course the warden hands out e-guns, but this is default gear we're talking about.
  4. E-shields are a nice option for nuke ops, so are adrenal implants/certain chems, this doesn't make the taser any less ridiculously over powered in comparison to every other option of engagement however. There'd be reason enough to use them in any context because of the instant floor dropping alone, ideally followed by a quick switch to disbaler mode (which I have not once seen used BTW) or a run up for a baton'ing both of which there'd be plenty of time for. Reducing the stun time so it'd be not quite enough to cuff someone would also give the rest of sec's toys a reason to exist, it's so specialized and varied but utterly useless since tasers are just so superior. I mean, when was the last time anyone used pepperspray to subdue someone? at the moment it's sole purpose is to torture the already captured.
  5. As it is tasers stun you just long enough for you to be cuffed and dragged a few feet before you stand back up. This means once you're on the ground = it's all over, such is the way of instastun, all in a few seconds. If the stun time was ever so slightly reduced, say by a couple of seconds so it wasn't quite long enough to cuff, it'd give the intended victim a bit more of a fighting chance, I'm just fed up of tasers being superior to literally everything, especially since it's one pew = you're out. Stun batons are another story... but those at least are arms length, and it serves you right for letting yourself get caught up to.
  6. They don't? I must see them get it given an awful lot. The bit about R&D still stands however.
  7. The BS having a special gun is fine and all, but it'd be nice if they didn't have immediate access to infini-lethal ammo for it. As it is, they can just wander into R&D/cargo and blow all their metal on bullets, this is done almost always without any sort of asking. #RemoveBlueShieldCargoAccess2569.
  8. E-N is so much better if you emag him. Drag him to the bar first though if you want to share the happy fun time.
  9. The Wiki is a bit of mess in places, a lot of it was originally copied from elsewhere and has been edited to reflect changing attitudes. If what you see differs from what's on the main SoP page, best assume it's outdated, the main page for it is consistent enough. Though I thought the CMO only had authority over cloning and genetic modification was the RD's half of genetics?
  10. People actually do that? I don't believe it, I won't believe it! That said if you're stuck with an asshat supervisor, it's not hard to keep it in your bag at code green though.
  11. It's just a social experiment? Oh hi Dr Mengele.
  12. I use the incinerator all the time, the access change a while ago made unwanted visitors were few and far between, it's a great place to get up to mischief, it could do with being moved perhaps though I'd rather keep it. The assembly line however... yeah it gets renovated every now and again, but the indestructible equipment is a real pain, some sort of re-map would be an improvement.
  13. It's a bit 4noraison I must say, it's not hideously implemented like virology is. What about that organ overhaul we've been hearing about?
  14. I don't see why not, but it'd give officers yet another holding slot that's just a click away. It's nothing they can't keep in their bag/armour slot anyway, might be a bit of a power creep (woe to the days of everyone carrying a half dozen flash bangs in their belt).
  15. The problem is it's too powerful for it's availability, perhaps have it require illegal tech to make? It'd still be makable once people figure out how (if you know where to look ), and it'd put pay to all these 30 minute blob rounds we've been having.
  16. That it does, it's really just a small closet that happens to have dispensers in it, the janitor gets more space!
  17. HoP's playing at being security are best dealt with by ignoring them in my experience, they usually end up getting brigged themselves. The worst damage they do is spreading bad and often downright incorrect information, stuff like "CMO IS TRAITOR/HELP CULT IN CHAPEL/AI ROGA BLOW BORGS" when said by a HoP/member of command, even a bad one, is always taken seriously and ruins a lot of people's rounds. There should probably be something in SoP IN BIGGER LETTERS about following the chain of command, the first thing you see when you join is which member of command you answer to, but people usually just defer to whoever is the loudest.
  18. On that note, the "practice area" above atmospherics/across from tech storage behind the office space is lucky if anyone even looks at it. It's pretty purposeless, and could probably do with being replaced.
  19. They've powered up enough as it is with the telebaton and such, making them flashproof as well is just gonna bring us a step closer to judge dread MD.
  20. If I get the die gloriously objective, I just try to be as gimmicky/cringey/dramatic as possible. It's pretty much a license to be !!fun!! since you don't have to worry about getting away with it afterwards.
  21. Or do you? This is space afterall, can't rely on 21st century stuff when SPESS PHYSICS and bluespace magic are at work. I'm thinking you're more peeved off by the possible damaging of the IPC karma race, which is fair enough of course, but considering how we have mechanical organs all over the place, vat-grown in-between cyborg-lites aren't that far off.
  22. I always found this odd. Sure the HoS is the hero the station deserves and all, access to the science corridor is expected, just maybe not the sub-departments too?
  23. It'd be kinda pointless, cyborgs are easy enough to subvert once you get into their innards and this'd just be exchanging a few steps for no change in gameplay.
  24. This is just like one of those 19th century national congresses! Everyone has a different option as to what "synthetic" specifically is, as far as cyborgs are concerned I'd say they're more roboty as the MMI is really just used as a wetware CPU. IMO the lore should be as vague as possible , if there's too much of it we'll end up with arrrP drama without any of the RP !!fun!!.
  25. Welp. Maybe just have the individual machines be ID-lockable/booby trappable via panel access?
