if im right, what you want is the disposal unit sprite in 512x512 size in pixels? since you cant find it yourself?
theres also multiple states of the Disposal unit so it isnt really one sprite...

Err, without water, what's the purpose of the potassium?
they asplode even more when they try to use water to put it out?

found a typo

I mean I'd also just settle for species turning up on health scanner identification and the like. I just don't know how hard that would be to code.
yes

Then don't allow it to be ghetto'd.
Should be as easy as checking which tool is being used to finish the surgery.
Not allowing it to be ghetto'd wouldnt stop people with access to a autolathe.
and if we did that, you just need ONE legit surgical tool while everything else can be ghetto'd
-
This would be a good surgery for antags to hide their identity if they were discovered.
Antag HoP + CMO would be OP.
+1 (is that how this forum works?) for days!
It would also allow for people to steal identities in a very basic fashion without being completely op, as things such as bloodtype, DNA and fingerprints would not change (and could easily be verified).
dont want it to be too basic, we dont want random people with the right ghetto tools forcibly renaming other people into inappropriate names and voices.
i want to stick with the ID with the desired name on it to be required, it still lets traitors do it since they can have a renameable ID.
or just use the spare captains ID and literally be named the captain

as of now, there is no way to fix the identities of people who have been gibbed and then put into a humanized monkey
unless i missed something and the facial reconstruction actually works for stuff other than a terribly burnt off face...
a easy and somewhat difficult to abuse way to go about this is to make the face/voice of the patient match their ID name by the end of the surgery.
thoughts?

I'm personally a huge fan of Goon's system.
Instead of "spam button, hopef or luck, receive powers".
Each person's DNA strands are unique; not every mob will have every single power/disability.
As for activating powers, it's like a game of mastermind; you engage in a process of elimination to pint down what strands should be what, then activate them.
You don't have access to injectors until about halfway through the round--they have to be researched via the research budget---you can get more points if you actually clone people (or just bide your time).
As for power stacking? Well, every gene has positive or negative stability; disabilities have negative, powers have positive; if your stability is too high (too many powers), you'll start taking tox+brute+burn damage; the higher it is, the more frequently (and more) damage you take; if you go over the ultimate limit, you roll for a chance to out and out gib the next life cycle.
The gist is you have to take disabilities with powers to balance it out---though some are neutral (speech modifiers, for instance).
it's...interesting.
i never figured out the goonstation genetics system before i left for paradise, but the memories of the geneticist bugging the AI or HoP to transfer the monies into their budget is fun.
i also recall the HoP draining the QM budget many times to buy drugs in the diner...or buying some other thing.

to avoid assassinations via too many powers AND disabilities in one needle, can we limit the amount of powers/disabilities you can get from one needle to 1-3?
i know full well that this could be a coding nightmare.

some hype was around it and i think we ported it from somewhere and tested the trams in the science department, i like to call them movable tiles 1x1 with buttons on them.
remember the clown that was constantly slipping on the tram with a peel on it?
or the fact that the tram picked up everything it moved over since it was a moving tile with buttons on it?
and suddenly, it was never seen again and had some potential since 3x3 sizes were doable.

im not really asking...oh wait, the thread title is doing that.
i just put a probably undoable alternative on this thread!
edit: isnt 1u = 10ml?

im no coder, but could we adjust the amount of ethanol each drink gives you? similar to how hot chocolate slowly turns into 3x the sugar when processed.
have some weaker drinks turn into 0.5x the ethanol and gargle blaster 4x into the ethanol when processed.

Let me just say one thing, to squash an idea right here and now, regardless of whether or not anything is done for Grey.
Karma cost and abilities mean absolutely nothing. We do not nor will we have a "pay to win" structure or a structure were in a higher karma cost species necessarily has more powers or abilities or is stronger/more unique than those that cost less karma. The cost of karma, in spirit, is meant to do two things: (1) Act as a barrier due to difficulty in RPing and (2) A different gate to limit the amount of that species on station.
As a third aside, before someone happens to mention it: We also don't karma lock species that are free, to begin with (Tajaran, human, Diona, Vulp, Skrell, etc).
Doesnt mean we shouldnt revisit them...right?

Too harsh...
WELL, the only thing most geneticists do all shifts is to sit there and collect powers, besides, when did you NEED more than three powers at once?
having the leaper ability on its own is a pretty amazing thing to have.
only having the matter eater makes you immune to handcuffs.
only bad thing i can see is that geneticists can literally insert every disability and superpower into one person with one syringe for a quick death...
they dont even have to inject them, just convince them to use the needle.
-
what about boosting the radiation you take from genetic needles?
-
Yeah, and both the HoP and NT Rep already have access to the service channel.
that was pretty much my point
-
when i play genetics, i make sure the cloner has biomass and ignore the superpowers, if the other geneticists is working on powers, i shall tell them to NOT GIVE THEM TO ANYONE.
somebody thats usually unclonable needs cloning? i can at least give you the stuff needed for the patient to retain their identities
then i use my genetics access to do other fun shenanigans that at least adds something to the RP...
But i dont play genetics that often, but if we managed to force them to help out medbay more, things might get better.
Why did they have to change it so i cant use mask + ID to fix voices and identities...
-
-
No one uses the service channel much these days.
Because there is little that requires radio communication amongst the service-department staff.
Kitchen and bar might want to co-operate, but they're next to each other.
Kitchen and botany need to co-operate, but they're next to each other too.
HoP and NT rep might use the service channel to yell at them or organize events...
-
Dont you need their ID's to even get a chance to input the numbers?

"NAS Trurl here" - A Guide to Faxes

imagine a string thats not loose tied to something, pulling the string would pull the something instantly.
now, imagine the same, except its quantum electronic stuff that reaches infinitely...so, pen pals on two ends of the galaxy is possible as long as both the fax machines have been hooked up to each other during production or something, and you cant intercept the message while inbetween either.
i imagine it cant be THAT expensive.
