  1. I was here when we had the supermatter. The explosion was roughly the same as a maxcap tank transfer valve bomb, with the addition of causing mass hallucinations among the crew - nowhere near as round-ending as a singularity release. Supermatter sabotage is kind of a moot point when you have to order it - you can bet that the engineers bothered enough to order a supermatter crystal and also invest the ~hour it takes to construct an engine room will know how it works and also look after it. It also announces when it's about to explode through chat - giving people time to get off-station or fix it.
  2. You can build a supermatter engine in a relatively small area. The problem is it needs to be constructed in an area near to space for a mass driver. +1 to the large crystal. It'd be fun to be able to set up a crystal as a viable power source. Would also be nice for a stack of plasma glass to be added to engineering.
  3. Have it attach to your jumpsuit to work (and be invisible upon examination). Literally have it be up your sleeve.
  4. yes I did mean that, we just need something more interesting in the library... A librarian would be nice
  5. I find that it's better to kill the first crewmember one or two stops in to the game, as you're trading 2 fuel per stop to have insurance against viruses and to possibly sell them for resources instead of losing them.
  6. Yes, they should. The RD should also be put under some scrutiny.
  7. The problem isn't RDs being antags so much as nobody ever checking what science and genetics is up to.
  8. While not the same, the scramble suits from A Scanner Darkly would be a cool syndicate item for obfuscating your identity (though it's immediately obvious you're a syndicate if you were wearing one, unless it was done in such a way that you could choose when to morph)
  9. Atmosia could have a pet. Maybe a space carp?
  10. Cid Squishings spaced me, but I survived by heading into the airlock. Then the HoS also got spaced and we played a nice game
  11. Plastic flaps - 4 plastic to create, wrench to disassemble? Virtual gameboard - should probably be a machine or something Wall-mounted camera consoles should be a thing too. No idea how that'd be coded though
  12. God damn it BYOND Though I do hear that atmos code runs on wizardry
  13. Difficulty: Easy Why?: Because it's slow as hell having to dispense one pipe at a time when you want to redo atmospherics or fix large breaches. Having the option to create 5 or 10 at a time would really speed things up. Additionally, removing the delay associated with dispensers would be nice too.
  14. Yes, but the box people would be required to have a box at all times, which would put them under a lot less scrutiny (as they get harmed whenever they are in the light). Additionally, dragging a closet is suspicious, whereas being in a box that is vital to your functioning is not immediately so. True, but opening the box requires you to be in melee range of the box, which allows you to be easily stunprodded or whatever. You do raise a good point that the box does need to be opened in order to open doors, so I guess that would cut down on some of the stuff they can get away with. Things like being able to carry guns or wielded chainsaws freely without anybody knowing, being nearly impossible to stun at range as the box blocks tasers, being nearly impossible to detain by security (unless tape guns were added), and being quite difficult to track by the AI are a few of the things that I thought of. As I said above, yes you can also gain these abilities when you're in a movable box (something I'm still not that okay with), but with box people there is literally no way to tell anything is amiss, whereas other boxes are mildly suspicious. If examining the box would also display its occupants, then that would probably fix most of the problems I've listed here.
  15. I'd rather not have a race of sentient boxes aboard the station, thanks. Having a race that would be required to be inside a box would lead to all kinds of abusable situations and would add a tonne of difficulty to the game for the non-box-people players.
  16. Because, unfortunately, people like to make Security's time as hard and as terrible as possible. The moment someone dies in the brig it turns into a cacophony of "SHITCURITY LYNCH SEC!" with some people outright lying that Sec killed the guy instead of suicide. And if you think that's me exaggerating, it honestly and truly is not, I had personal experience with that when I used to play Warden. I see people punch themselves into crit in their cell and scream the warden or HoS is beating them all the time. It's not just them killing themselves an leaving the round, it's heaping a giant mess onto someone ELSE an giving the Greytide the riot excuse they look for. The problem you outlined has nothing to do with the suicide verb. As necaladun stated earlier, the suicide verb leaves a lovely note telling the observer that it was self-inflicted. However, if someone is willing to greytide based on hearing that security was beating some guy up and not seeing any evidence for it, ahelp them or brig their ass.
  17. Why take suicide so seriously? If they suicide over a brig sentence / some other trivial thing, let them kill themself, laugh it off, and send them to the morgue or crematorium.
  18. And what about any of antags coming from outside? Wizards, shkrek raiders, nuke ops. NT sends those guys on a covert false flag operation.
  19. Other things that would be pretty amazing to have in atmospherics are industrial welders and welding goggles.
  20. You can make surgery tables, but you can't deconstruct them once they're built.
  21. Actually, I remember this. I didn't know there was a thing you could print at R&D though - I was never informed this was even a thing. I've used multitools on the atmos tank monitors to connect them up with sensors and input/output vents in the turbine before. Makes it so much easier to track things.
  22. Looks good to me. I don't know if monitoring the gravity generator needs to be added to SOP? It's almost never ever touched. Should also add the flash to this, given the CE's locker contains one. I feel that telecomms should be added to the CE's responsibilities in SOP. Something like the following - Similarly to TComms, should the AI also be added to the CE's SOP? Can the word 'immediately' in point 7 of Atmos and Engineering be changed to 'promptly'? I might legitimately need to get some stuff e.g. a hardsuit / more metal before responding to the call. Should be reworded to 'engineering hardsuit' and 'available on the station for use at all times', given that there's one in the outpost. Bold parts should be changed to something like 'if there is an operational X engine', cause you could say "hey this supermatter engine's not our chosen power source, we have a singularity for that". Should be 'anywhere except the turbine'. Should the Mechanic SOP also apply to anyone who flies a pod created for them? If so, that would need to be added in as a new point.
