I would like to suggest an improvement to the Brig doctors office.

could it be enlarged a little and please could it be fitted with a full working body scanner and a operating table. i find it takes along time for me to get it setup and feels its not much help if not fully working .

Thanks for looking

Chris

I believe the brig doctor room was only to treat minor treatments. They are to be cuffed in all treatments and rolled to medbay if require more serious treatment with security escort. That is how I play it anyway

That may have been the original intention but it's generally not how Brig Physican is played.  For good reason, in my opinion.  If the Brig Physican's job is to just treat minor injures then he is completely and utterly pointless. Any officer can apply a trauma kit to someone. There's absolutely no reason to have anyone dedicated to doing something so immensely trivial.  Surgery and full on treatment is a much more involved process so it makes sense to have someone dedicated to it.

It's natural for things to evolve and grow beyond the designer's original intention. That's usually a good thing and the evolution of Brig Physican is no exception.

That said, I don't think the Brig Medical bay should get any more equipment.  Having to scavenge and scourge is half the fun, and it rewards mastery.

But thats why brig phys is a karma locked job. Yes, anyone can apply trauma kit. Brig phys job is to bring more RP to brig, not to outrobust malfunctionbay.

Yet, it is good idea to have surgery table and sleeper in there, but making them there by default is wrong since while playing said doc, you need something to do first 20-30 minutes before prisoners arrive and officers get hurt.

Oh so doctor is really a first aider. I was playing the other day to get a prisoner to medbay is hard work, dodging all the tables people have made in the corridors then having everyone running into you pushing the medical trolley away. If your in a hurry the prisoners will die takes so long.

I'm abit funny when it comes to building my own medbay as I feel it takes away the RP when a doctor starts building advanced construction items what's why the station has engineering (maybe its just me) but getting one that's not busy can be real hard and most CE don't answer you when you ask. Maybe I'm too heavy in to the role play and maybe it's the wrong server for it.

Sure if antags start to murderbone with double esword-meth memes, you are more than welcome to build cloner, get shitton of biomass, prescan officers and just crush antag with bodies. But during quiet moments, it is better to make life of worthy prisoners better.

As a warden, i usually give the Briggie (thats what i like to call them) a few more Security do-daads and duties, such as a taser, camera access and usually cleaning duties.

Most of them like actually having something to do while security is still trying to arrest the clown for slipping the mime.
