I wouldn't want the librarian role replaced/removed. There just needs to be more incentive for people to visit the library. Currently, the library is often only visited by a select few players who like to RP and chill and renovate the library. But it IS an important part of the game imo, for some people. Also there are some really good books there.

ERT has always had this as far as I know. They have militaristic hardsuits, colouring reflecting their department. Perhaps the only ones that do not have it are the AMBER ert units ... I'm not entirely sure, my brain is fuzzy right now.

The crew was bored. Initially there were only electrified grilles, on the left. One admin (not me actually) had the brilliant idea of providing emagged recyclers :D

This is great. We should remodel brig to have one big genpop. It COULD make for good prisoner RP.

Welcome! We all have been where you are now. In the beginning, the struggle is real! But if you persist and do not give up, you will find that this game is amazing, ridiculous and challenging at times at the same time. The mechanics are something to get used to, and there are a lot of possibilities, but as Trololiver above me here said, F1 in-game > select mentorhelp for any questions you may have about the game. Also do not be afraid to ask *too* many questions, because there is no such thing.
I remember my first janitor shift a couple of years ago. It was very, very daunting.
Fast forward time, and now I'm part of the server's administration.
It's always nice to see new people come in, and it's even better if they stay! :) Don't worry about your character yet, that's also not something you develop overnight (for some people at least).
Above all: Have fun!

Personally I only ever go undercover as detective. It works so well officers forget I am on their team and taze me when I walk into the brig.

If we were to make Gamma able to be called by station command, what would stop command from instantly calling gamma instead of red?
Perhaps we could make it so that gamma can be called only (insert time here) after red is called first. I dunno. -

I will always miss nations. I was actually looking forward to managing a nations round when I became admin. Then nations got axed. I just traitor everyone instead. Though not very often as it's hell

I would not mind personally going through books and wiping shitty ones. You know which ones are serious and which authors put effort in it, and who do not.
I also agree with spark. Forcing an overhaul like that, and the late fees thing .. it would be best to actually stick with the librarian role, I just want people to actually use and visit the library more often. It's really a good place to hang out, roleplay, read actual books people put effort into. It's just that a large group of players do not have the same values as a select few who utilize the library now. I think the play2win mentality, the focus on greentext, etc, eats away on RP, which is, quite frankly, disappointing.
Fun isn't just muh greentext. In my opinion, roleplay is more valuable than anything else. But that's just me.
