  1. People getting Perma'd for possession of military belt or dufflebag is stupid, but when the bag was still contraband committng a major crime while using it is grounds for perma or even EOC status. What I'm leery of is crew like civilians possessing equipment such as military belts which can hide any small item, which includes things such as stetchkins.
  2. Let me guess, this was the same round where Goobina broke SOP over her Knee to let you walk around with contraband? It' odd you forgot to mention people were looking to perma you as you used said contraband to commit a major crime, specifically breaking into Teleporter then Caps office. On the topic of changing contraband status, the stetchkin should be treated the same as any other weapon, it' availabiity in maint and in the Gateway makes it so having one isnt a instant sign of syndicate activity.
  3. FTL13 has a interesting little item in crews Emergency box which is a disposable Space suit. It acts like a normal EVA suit but breaks down after 10-15 minutes.
  4. Because last night on the Discord Tully mentioned that members of sec giving people permission to use contraband is breaking Space Law and thus is a Ahelpable matter. Basically Sec is required by Space Law to confiscate contraband and giving people permission to use contraband is a massive breach of Space Law.
  5. The Surgery dufflebag, should be removed from contraband but hell no to removing the belt. It can store any small item and should be counted as contraband. If any HOS clears you for using a military belt, Ahelp that, because they are breaking Space Law hard letting you use contraband. Also, if you use any Class C item while committing a Major crime, such as using a military belt with tools in it and use said tools to break into a secure area, that automatically makes you a EOC and can get thrown in perma for it.
  6. Unless your Sec, making any attempt to deconvert a conversion antag counts as validhunting so even that's a no go.
  7. Saul, Silicon hate is a real thing, anyone who plays Silicons can tell you that. Silicons are as sapient as organics but people treat them and the AI the same as they would treat station equipment. Crew telling Borgs to go kill themselves because they are causing 'harm' happens on occasion but they are allowed to and the Staff don't care. If I repeatedly told another player to go kill themselves then I would get Boinked pretty soon but if someone does it to me when I'm a Borg, the staff don't care. Silicon hate is real but denying it exists is not just a dick move, it's sticking your hands over your ears and going Là Là Là while ignoring the problem.
  8. It's less them being disconnected and more having a bias against Silicons. Hell just look at the Remove Sec Borgs suggeston thread and you'll get all the info you need about people's opinions on Borgs.
  9. It's already a thing on TG, the HOP can flag jobs as high priority and has been a thing for a long while. It's a useful idea.
  10. It seems to be a disturbing trend on this server that anything that seems to buff Borgs, no matter how minor gets instantly shot down. I've had Doctors threaten to have me blown simply because I was doing their job when they were too incompetent to do it themselves. You don't decide to design a Borg to have advanced tools and arms then decide to remove any sort of manipulator device. Quite a few of the Borg sprites including Black Knight, Advanced Droid and all of Travelling Merchant's Borg sprites have hands or at least manipulation devices but do not possess any capability to pick up objects. You can magically buckle people to furniture, pull objects and similar actions despite having no hands. It's pretty clear Borgs as a role are designed to be crippled and sub par compared to organics. Each side has distinct advantages and disadvantages but Borgs having no or limited ability to pick up objects is a decision that seems to be rooted in the 'Borgs ah stealin ma job' opinion.
  11. Aye, bad Ai's are bloody annoying. Though from what I remember, both Vamps and Slings have abilities that allow them to deal with Borgs. Agreed, as it stands the only regulated version of the flash I think should be considered a weapon is the Flash bulbs for the Mobile flasher. A Flash is mostly used in Robotics to be honest, they always need more for Borg heads.
  12. If anyone is that desperate about getting Flashes they probally aren't a Antag. EMP flashlights have multiple uses, are indistinguishable from regular ones and cripple Borgs for longer. Hell, it even drains their disabler. If as a non antag your running about flashing Borgs, your just being a shitler. As a Antag, you have multiple tools to deal with Borgs, as a non Antag you shouldn't be breaking into places to steal Flashes.
  13. I was HOS that round, the banter between the HOP and NT rep was hilarious. Someone had the gall to suggest that Sec would brig you for having the Balloons, though having the HOP run about with two of them was fun to see.
  14. You do know that both Science, Sec and Robotics have flashes, right? Hell, Flashes are dirt cheap to produce anyway, it's not like getting a flash is difficult or anything. About the Disablers people seem to think are OP... Run away rather than staying to fight, it's that simple. Without the Rapid Disabler Cooling mod from Robotics and the Vtech mod, it's simple to run away from something slower than you, if you don't stay to pick a fight then the 'Disabler spam' won't get you. As a Sec Borg the only reason I use Disablers so much is that the Stun baton is such a damn power hog. Hell, it sucks up more power each stun than max lights for a minute and without power cell upgrades that's a bad thing.
  15. As someone who mostly plays Mediborg and handles Surgery I can safely say there are some situations where Cloning is necessary. SR/Defibbed is nice and all but in some cases it's just not enough. I've had cases where someone had destroyed organs and every bone in their body was shattered. In that sort of situation its either 1: Desperately scramble to patch up their failing organs while fixing every damn broken bone which would take 30 minutes easily or 2: Just clone them. When I'm running surgery, if someone can be returned to full health without Cloning I will do everything I can to fix them. Any removal of Cloning just makes Medbay's job far harder, incompetent Doctors non withstanding.
