  1. This is the designated place right? I did make a report a while ago but it doesn't seem to have been looked at. The wizard page is a bit outdated, curse of the cluwne isn't mentioned nor are laughter demons, the descriptions for a few spells (rathen's secret/repulse) aren't too descriptive either (unclear if they stun people or stamina damage them). There's a lack of any sort of actual guide like what every other antag page has, just thought I'd say in case anybody fancied doing it.
  2. E-bow is now the single most used tator item. I mean if it had a chance to break bones or if it stuck some shrapnel in them or something it'd make sense, over half your TC for a very obvious instatunner though? ech, no wonder it's never used. Stuffs inferior yo.
  3. If you're having a problem with surgery break-ins have the CMO use their door wand to bolt the maint access, this is something AIs do a lot on their own as well whenever there's a alert raise. It's not really supposed to be a secure area though, it's important alright but nothing in their is irreplaceable, arguably the most critical bits are the surgery tables themselves and even they're easily mass producible.
  4. As one of the few who on occasion actually use the e-bow this is something I'd be more than happy with, 12 TC for what is really just a self charging taser always seemed a bit expensive IMO, a couple of extra TC to snag some c4 would be far more useful. The 10 tox is entirely negligible anyway, in the time it takes to recharge the e-bow they're already back up and either running away or already charging you, maybe replace it with some stamina damage so they're slowed down?
  5. I think it'd be better for everyone if there was a time limitation to being held in processing in space law in the modifiers bit. Few things are more frustrating, for you and the guy who arrested you, than sitting in processing for 30 minutes because the detective is incompetent and the HoS is too busy maint crawling to authorise your release.
  6. I was the guy who did the bombing and I just wanted to say.... The source of the explosioning were a couple of fuels tanks, should probably be a bit harder to annihilate the place, that said the courtroom is ostensibly a public place (public access and all) which makes it especially jarring when sec treat it as a full part of the brig. R-walls would be fine but if we put in blast shields I can pretty much guarantee the place will just be used as another command circlejerk den.
  7. It's a bit iffy raising the blob win %, by the time they get near to that big most of the crew will have died trying to stop it/ran away to the mining outpost, they've pretty much achieved critical mass as well it'd only prolong the round needlessly. Which would be the opposite of what having the nuke again would do, I distinctly remember very few actual blob victories thanks to nuke-happy command staffs.
  8. What's annoying is that as soon as the nuke codes became available the nuke was invariably detonated immediately just to deny the blob/xenos greentext out of spite. Meanwhile People were getting salty over metablobs single lining to critical areas and metaxenos melting important consoles.
  9. No Nooo NOOOOO! I was around at the time to witness slime people in their OP glory, even with instantaneousness aside vent crawling is way up there with vox leap in terms of "shit non antags should never ever have". Bring this in and I guarantee you we will see a plague of slime players lolcrawling into every secure location there is grabbing all the good stuff and disposaling themselves, just like in the bad old days.
  10. Officers who did that would have Internal affairs come down on them like a tonne of bricks, HoS and command too. "death in custody" should probably be added as mitigating factor to space law.
  11. Problem with it is that comdomand always beelined for it when the gamemode was found out and were always in a position to auto-asplode it when gamma hit. Unilaterally ending the round should be something kept for the admins to do not people who want to switch the mode (ie: anyone who plays command ever).
  12. My thoughts exactly. 1-5 brute damage when tazed would be nice too, ever seen someone get dropped like that IRL? They never fall gently. Ideally for me, tasers would stay instastunning with a slight range reduction, officers would spawn in with disablers and more hybrid tasers (4-8?) would be added to the armoury (the one with the barriers not the secure armoury, they aren't lasers) to mark them as more "high risk" and be dished out at blue alert. Little features like that are what make the game so !!fun!!.
  13. I still want tasers to have a small chance to induce heart attacks/deal a tiny bit of brute damage to simulate hitting the floor. Might see it being used a bit more situationally, IRL in the UK they're kept in special little lockboxes and everything for those very reasons, though I imagine 25XX edition tasers are a bit more refined it'd be great for them to be more robust without being shitty stun inducers.
  14. If I'm being a nuisance the warden should have every right to swirlie me half to death and break my fingers, anything is better than being put in the naughty corner being bored for 15 minutes. I'm unsure if we have a "behave like an antag get treated like one" clause anywhere since EoC is used for everything these days (it's just like the patriot act, in spaaace!), if sec had better internal oversight instead of relying on the admins to bwoink anyone crossing the line I'd be fine with justified shitcurity. The thing that makes the current stun system not sit well with me more than anything else is that once you're in sec's hands you're probably in for good due to how prisoners are treated, it's not directly related but a different atmosphere in the sec department would go a long way towards electrodes being fine as they are IMO.
  15. It was the NCS Cyberiad not so long ago, changed it back to science from commerce because it didn't feel right or something. Would fit quite well having some sort of bazaar thing going on, SS13 is more deep space 9 than SUPER HIGH TECH SEKRIT OUTPOST anyway IMO.
  16. I think the only thing that fits into that category is the mini e-bow, unless you count revolver-groin shots. Is it long ranged though? I've never actually seen it being fired down any hallways.
  17. I appreciate sec nerfs are often born of "i ded" sentiments but they've usually got some underlying legitimate concern behind them, as you said yourself tasers in their current form just aren't fun and that's how I feel about it too. The halloss system a while back was flawed but preferable mostly because it resulted in longer combat, the golden bolt of win I despise because it kills off fights so quickly for minimum effort, with disabler beams you at least have to aim a couple more times and even flashbangs are dodgeable, electrodes are parasting level boring. I consider them borderline OP myself because the electrode/cuff/baton spam is the easy go-to thing at the moment, there's not a single way to get out of that once you're in it short of equipment that makes you EoC or some terrible incompetence on sec's part. Self-antags and shitler greytide need exterminating with extreme prejudice but I'd much rather have a sec force that relies on robustness instead than "i win" tier gear and tactics to do it, that's just my perspective though I imagine actual sec players would rather feel safer.
  18. I don't see why there shouldn't be guidelines for it, I was there to witness this and it wasn't very pretty thanks to the lack of context more than anything else.
  19. Disablers are nice and all but they're inferior outside certain situations, flahsbangs are mostly used for actual crowd control as they should be. What gets me all sodium'd up the sheer betterness of the taser compared to everything else, it doesn't matter how it's balanced a golden bolt of sheer win will always come out on top unless syndie chems are involved.
  20. People have been complaining about the taser since forever, instatsun still sucks and could do with nerfing +1 Individual stuns aren't hard to get over, everyone knows this though hence why baton/tase stun is a thing, it's downright rare not to be get contsa-baton'd while been arrested these days thanks to implant paranoia, it should really have additional drawbacks that aren't just battery size related IMO.
  21. Yeah I'd second that, the warden HoS and detective should really be trusted individuals as they fulfil very critical roles. Then again though we implemented HoP antags a while back and they've been fairly well balanced since, people have learned to properly scrutinise backup captains and non-paperwork related HoP shitttery has hit a low, such healthy second guessing (with good reason) should be the norm IMO, not something sec are uniquely exempt from.
  22. You see the problem there is there was no oversight, it was assumed since you were an officer you were justified in doing whatever.
  23. Well you're not wrong. Still though all that'd have to be done to counter any of that would be for sec to actually... watch each other, and not let their co workers do whatever, just like everyone else does. It's half the reason cops IRL have things like partners and statements and headcams.
  24. Yes please. Purely because that thoroughfare is dumb and needs to go.
  25. I refer you to my final line. There's always been a debate going on over whether sec officers are eleet watered down space marines or actual mall cops, I've always seen them as something inbetween sheriff deputies and SWAT team commandos depending on competence. Vast majority of antags get rekt and fail utterly in my experience, vast majority, you get the occasional robustee or lucky break for some but the balance of power is very much one way. I could well be wrong, maybe there's stats for it somewhere? Still though that's a whole other topic. I think cyro'ing is actually something you get bwionked for if you do it too often for certain roles, it's probably more of a rules issue. Another thing I've considered is that we could perhaps do with more people playing sec in general as well, a lot of people just don't play it because they find it unrewarding, conversely I'd say a lot of people play jobs like genetics and science because antagging as them can be very rewarding. Not that's it's not nice to have hyper-competent regulars and clueness noobs that is but IMO a higher turn around like what other departments get could be a positive influence.
