  1. Everybody knows dinosaurs came before chickens. And yeah mutualism is never gonna work in a online game because it's more of an arms race than a collaboration no mater how wonderful it might be so long as everone knows what an emag is and it's exact practical applications. What you describe yourself as is most certainly not the norm from the point of view of a person who gets searched a lot and has tried all sorts of tricks, result is always the same unless blatant incompetence is involved.
  2. Yeah this is exactly what I'm talking about, sec always doing the full monty for everything. That's player behaviour though and is only getting more common alongside other edge giving tactics like having the AI disable the airlock timing at roundstart because it makes it slightly more difficult for someone to break in. Kinda kills the fun IMO and needs coding around. Because lets face it if I've got something even slightly dodgy I'm always going to run because I know for a fact I won't get any slack when it comes to those cavity searches. I for one would do a lot more brig RP if it didn't mean always having my round ended.
  3. Naturally, unless of course there's a bad AI but that's a whole other scenario. That and TC items are no good for poor Vampires and shadowlings either. It'd be better IMO if flashes were more widespread and weren't considered "weapons", for something so easily mass producible and not really all that useful or even dangerous outside a few specific uses they're locked down rather tightly.
  4. i eoc'd for millionth time this week for having syndie radio key on "random" search pls nerf I'm talking about stuff like the no slip shoes and the agent ID, should need to have it scientifilyc analysed (ie: destructively) to actually tell a non-syndie what it is IMO. Really takes the piss that it's now common practise to search all those crevices since everyone powergames with the stealth items now, at least make it not so obvious that I'm carrying grade A contraband or something. In a similar vein can we get emags disguised as ID cards? No point in trying to be stealthy at all when it takes all of one shift click to ID everything you've got.
  5. Yeah and all those places require access, or hacking into somewhere where somebody will see you do it or just straight up mugging someone. All of which is a whole lot of effort and risk, especially when the thing you're trying to counter can lol baton you on sight and reel you in with ease.
  6. Have them consume plasma gas rapidly when hungry, might actually see them need to refill every now and again as opposed to the current state of FULL FOREVER.
  7. Total rework? yes please. But for the love of space jesus, they need a way to silently abduct people, ATM the only way to not get rekt as vamp is to play it as a traitor without any TC while you power up and that's just boring.
  8. Achilles heel isn't any good when the only place to get flashes are gone, new meta is to empty tech storage at round start, the disabler spam is ridiculous too but manageable. Bets thing to do is just avoid them. Anyway you want to bash the borgs? TACTICAL. TABLES. Works everytime.
  9. But muh bragging rights, then again the salt around people wondering if they were legit murder victims could be worthwhile.
  10. No it's not an AoE stun, but a hand-item that plays carefully selected "ZOMG ANTAG" sounds. Could also work as a vuvuzela or be disguised as a loudspeaker. How often does everybody lose their minds because somebody thought they heard a gun go off or a xeno hiss? just imagine the practical applications of having said sounds on demand! Maybe have it need recharging to limit the spam or only be able to play one preselected list of noises, it'd be ideal for fucking with metasenses. No idea what TC would be suitable as any usefulness would depend entirely on crew paranoia.

    Leg Cuffs

If you do this you're a bad person. You've got a taser a baton peperspray flashbangs etc... If anyone needed anything more than one or two out of those I'd be a bit worried. It's pretty easy to permanently lockdown someone forever anyway, just embed a couple of glass shards in their feet and leave them cuffed to a bed, trapped FOREVER, or you know just use a meat spike.
  12. As Sothangel said if someone's not actively making a nuisance of themselves it's an internal matter, ought to be dealt with internally. There's usually much more important things to be worried about regardless. That said though I'm not opposed to giving heads disablers or soemthing similar in their lockers at roundstart, only to be used in an emergency of course. This is exactly what has happened to me on more than one occasion except in my case I was on syndie donk pockets, telebaton should not beat chainsaws eswords and machine guns.
  13. This isn't something a head of staff should be doing anyway, unless they're the HoS/back-up captain of course and certainly not on their own at least. Often I've noticed if someone is deserving of demotion the rest of the department is typically pretty enthusiastic about getting rid of them, rounding up a posse isn't always too out of the question if sec can't/won't fulfil their function.
  14. I'm of the opinion that command players would do such things anyway yes, however I'd feel a lot less salty if they didn't have access to such might at roundstart. Then at least it'd be easier to identity and expunge bad behaviour, explaining away why you're tazing half of medbya for insubordination is a lot harder when you're not supposed to have it in the first place, as opposed to baton'ing them which is almost expected sometimes. I've also noticed as a general rule of thumb people don't get in trouble for abusing items they have access to so much, I'm pretty sure people would be a lot less eager to extrajudicially detain their minions if they had to break space law to do so effectively seeing as stun prods are often considered borderline contraband now and "illegal weapons" in the least.
  15. Stuncuffing as a whole is a product of instatsun, something a lot of people have been complaining and requesting the reworking of for a very long time and also something that's going to be around forever because the decision has already been made or something. It's something everybody who has a stunning item does anyway and will always do regardless of how effective the stun itself is because it's just the better option in a combat system where stun trumps all. So long as heads of staff continue to get away with things they shouldn't (full powers SE 4noraison/half the amroury's worth in the backpack 4noarison/memchems in their hypospray just in case etc) it's futile to change things against such behaviour, next best thing is to reduce it's effectiveness by cutting the crap IMO (ie: the goddamn BSbatons). Of course this would probably mean a lot more heads would start seeking out additional "protection" but hey at least it wouldn't be theirs at roundstart.
  16. A while ago they were much more robust yes, dealt 10 damage and stunned, they used to be a lot more restricted however and were only held by people you'd expect to need such a weapon. The problem I have with TBs in their current state is that they give a lot of robustness potential to people who really shouldn't have it, how many times do we see comdom heads "arresting" subordinates for real or imagined petty offences dragging them all the way to the brig without effort thanks to their winsticks? Their assumed purpose is "self defence" while in reality at current they're almost always used offensively to rush antags and never to actually escape. If they can't be outright removed as the horribly unbalanced memestick they are then at least they should be nerfed into the ground. Either have the admins come down hard on heads who misuse it (not going to happen), or severely reduce its effectiveness as an offensive tool. I'd propose a reduction of the stun a mere couple of seconds (slightly less than as long as it takes to rest and get back up) with a requiremnt to actually aim for a leg, and for it to be ineffective against already downed persons, as well as necaladun's 1-3 damage. That ought to be more than sufficient for the "running away" factor that the baton is ostensibly supposed to be for whilst removing entirely it's potential for comdomish abuse and outright combat superiority, as well as requiring responsible use (so no more "he just stunned u lol not a crime).
  17. I'd be perfectly happy with them if they dealt stamina damage/had to aim for the legs to take work/weren't 100% guaranteed, ideally they'd be replaced with disablers though. As of right now and for a while now they've been the objectively superior combat option to pretty much everything unless ballistics/memchems are involved and that doesn't sit well with muh balance.
  18. i ded pls nerf No really this is the THIRD time I, a chainsaw wielding maniac high on god knows what, have been stopped in my tracks by a teeny plastic baton wielded by a goddamn weedy command member. At least let me block it or something. Share thoughts, most of mine revolve around how it came to be that permanent instatsunning winsticks became so omnipresent amongst command, at least the bloody stun batons can be emp'd and you can dodge the golden bolt.
  19. Sdemons rely entirely on hit-run blood crawling, they're very easy to shotgun to death otherwise and are they're easily stopped in their tracks with some space cleaner or an airlock anyway The blood under computers though that could do with going, nothing more annoying than an entire room being off limits because of uncleanable gibs.
  20. In a similar vein, it''d be great if cause of death took a little bit of effort to accurately determine. Afterall, everybody knows exactly what an "organic needle" is and to get that line you need exactly one click.
  21. All command have to do is not be anal about paperwork/vetting for basic jobs, always a long line at the office, and BOOM no more job shortages. It's an entirely IC issue with entirely IC solutions, if only people would apply themselves.
  22. You can actually fix said roundstart broken cameras with a multitool, you just have to find the right wire first and be careful not to break the lights/view range.
  23. The labour camp has been slated for removal for a while now it's just nobody has gotten around to purging/redesigning it, no real surprise it's got a legal blackhole too.
