  1. Wouldn't keeping the Yin controller as a structure with a Yin stored inside be easier if you intend for them to be able to leave again? I don't see a purpose for having to create and destroy objects and mess with minds and all that.
  2. I really like it, I like how it gives the Chaplain some utility in rounds other than cult rounds, but keeps their utility rather niche so that they can still do some RP. My favorite spell on there is 'Oath of Peace'. I can see the chaplain using it during a shootout between Security and nuke ops.
  3. I like the look of our current vests, the red uniform looks snazzy with the current armor. Your armor vest is a little too dark. Personally I don't like either the /tg/ helmets or our helmets, but I like our helmets better. I wouldn't mind some sort of armor with extra storage in exchange for less protection. On baycode security gets webbing anyways to go under the armor.
  4. Very nice, although I hate to play devil's advocate here (since I love the spriting), I would hate to see this suffer the same fate as heist and be doomed to fail as another nuke clone. Nuke involves destroying the station. Heist involved stealing but generally devolved into a shoot em up anyways. This gamemode mimics the other two but seems to be a "seize control" type, while not technically the same objective as heist or nuke, heist or nuke sometimes try to accomplish their objective by seizing control leading to a bloody but fun gunfight. My suggestion is to strongly suggest against violence and limit the "overt" form to very powerful stun weapons. The idea is that they would want very little collateral damage to the crew or station. You can give them very overpowered lethal weapons if you like, but they should require something like admin approval to be able to be used. Also I might be able to help you with this codewise if you need help on that end.
  5. Woah, I need to read through this thread, but, why does the HoP not have the authority to overrule the QM? I always figured the HoP was in charge of supply and service.
  6. I think atmos techs should only be allowed to create "species rooms" for Vox and Plasmamen and such only with express permission from CE/Captain before hand. Also rooms full of plasma can only end badly.
  7. Ah okay, looks really good then.
  8. Why does the article randomly talk about Skrell larva? Apart from that I absolutely love the descriptive part of the article, reminds me of the Wikipedia article on Humans. Also, The detail put into the descriptions of humans is hilarious, but I'm pretty sure every species in SS13 would know what an arm is. I mean, every species in game has pretty much the same anthropomorphic structure.
  9. I really don't like CT3. The QM is responsible for the supply budget and should not lose his ability to regulate orders because points exceed 100. I can see a cargo tech going 'hurr durr we have 100 points fuck you qm i do what i want'. Also what constitutes an "approved" order? Also I didn't see anything in there about blowing crates with emitters. I once had a run in with a shitty Vox QM who claimed breaking open crates with emitters is totally fine. Which it shouldn't.
  10. Sorry if this may seem a bit insensitive, but does anyone actually play the psychiatrist? I ask that because on HRP servers like Bay I played psychiatrist once or twice and enjoyed it, and saw the office being used semi-regularly. It's an off-topic question, but on paradise I always see the psych office empty, and when I do see a psychiatrist they always disappear 5 minutes into the round and usually end up in cryogenics.
  11. Slap an IPC ass, be greeted by brute damage on your hand and the sound of an empty metal drum being hit. +1 suicide by ass slapping!
  12. It sounds cool but it would be incredibly unbalanced. Cue it being vampire or cult and chemistry makes a holy water grenade, and then sec puts it in their magic printer and rapes all the antags. It is also somewhat exploitable, as you can just mass produce chemicals this way. The only way I can see this being feasible is it requiring bluespace technology, and uses telecrystals or something to print grenades, so as to limit how many they can make.
  13. Maybe add a little bit in there about updating medical records as long as shit isn't hitting the fan?
  14. Except that it is common sense IC wise that surgeons would be expected to follow basic sanitary rules in the 28th century medical world. It's like keeping the OR clean, like masks, they may not have practical effect but IC wise it's unprofessional for your doctor to operate on you without a mask on.
  15. -1 I rarely ever hear "lel" or "lol" used in everyday speech. On the rare occasion that I do it's also rather awkward, as such conventions developed as a way to shorten communications over the internet which is not really useful at all in real life, that is, if you want to at all sound professional.
  16. Whether or not blood everywhere causes infections or not, this isn't /tg/ there's a very small roleplay standard. Again this seems to cross the meta-line. NT would expect their surgeons to keep everything clean and sterile. Unless, of course, there's a flood of patients because shit is hitting the fan and medbay is in overloaded triage mode; but as stated earlier SOP is malleable. No command player worth their rank would roast the surgeon for not keeping everything tidy when all the doctors in medbay are currently up to their arms in gore because a black hole, a transdimensional demon, crazed space freaks, alien monstrosities, batshit insane greyshirts, and a deranged comdom are all releasing hell on the station all at once.
  17. Chemist-7 and Virologist-8 both seem a bit intense, perhaps extend them by 10 minutes each?
  18. Okay, so after I was doing some reading about lethal force and police and such, I found some interesting stuff. SWAT 4 is not a definitive legal guide but the part in the tutorial where they teach you ROE is pretty neat, and it makes sense. No shooting people unless they are an active threat, e.g., pointing a gun at you or another person. Now, I supposed actual police doctrine was something along those lines, since, after all, lethal force should be a thing reserved for the most dire of situations; a last resort. Now, I was wondering why in old TV shows cops were always like "Stop, or I'll shoot!", when someone was running from them, and I was like, "Hrm, that seems pretty illegal." So I marked it off as Hollywood being Hollywood, until reading up on it. It turns out, prior to 1985, police (in the US) were allowed to shoot fleeing suspects who were felons or suspected of being felons. "Wow.", I thought. It seemed pretty Gestapo that the police could just shoot you for running, when you weren't even a threat. Now, they changed it to where they can only shoot fleeing suspects if they pose a big threat to society, like they're a serial killer or something, not a jaywalker. So, I was thinking of how this could apply to SS13. NT isn't a police state, but they aren't exactly a bunch of "good guys" either. And so I drafted a possible addition to SOP for security on code red/gamma. I am not trying to push this, and am neutral on the subject, I am posting this to get feedback and brainstorm this idea / forsee any possible problems with it. CODE RED CLAUSE On alert levels of Code Red or higher, if a security officer observes one of the following: 1) A suspect in the process of conducting a moderate or higher level crime. OR 2) A wanted person(s) suspected of moderate or higher level crimes. Then the officer is authorized to apply lethal force as necessary to subdue the suspect if they actively resist peaceful attempts at arrest OR attempt to flee. Note that "resisting peaceful attempts at arrest" implies the officer verbally demands the suspect to cease and surrender themselves before hand. If an officer chooses to enact Code Red Clause on a suspect, lethal force should only be applied as necessary to subdue the target. under no circumstances should an officer shoot a suspect while already incapacitated (unless they are a confirmed EOC and other lethal force rules apply as necessary as well.). The officer is then required to secure the suspect and bring them to the brig for processing as well as treatment of their wounds. If a suspect dies due to the negligence of the officer enacting Code Red Clause then the officer will be FULLY RESPONSIBLE for their death, and charges of manslaughter and/or demotion may apply. So yeah, if you act like a shitter on Code Red you kinda deserve a face full of laser, security doesn't have time to deal with you otherwise. This does not allow for officers to willy-nilly gun down people comitting moderate crimes and this by no means a KOS on all criminals on code red. Officers using this can't just leave suspects lying on the floor in crit. Suggestions/thoughts are welcome. If your workplace is at code red and you're still being an asshole, I think that the security teams should be allowed to gun you down if you're posing a threat to the crew and station by impeding security, and that's really what this is about. The goal of this clause is to attempt to cut down on the amount of self-antaggery on code red by allowing officer to wave their eguns around and threaten to mean buisness if you resist or continue to be an asshole.
  19. Just to clarify the RD doesn't lose his permissions on the telebaton on red right?
  20. If security can't be trusted to protect research from all the things you mentioned, that's a whole 'nother problem. SOP is meant to be a sane IC window into the game world, security exists for a reason, sorry, but science does not need to mass produce weapons and combat mechs to 'protect' themselves from all the existential threats out there in space (and on the station), if security is not responding to summons in research that needs to be addressed seperately. Additionaly body armor is not equivalent to telearmor. Sec does not run around with riot gear on green, nor does the captain don their armor. If there is a situation where the RD would truly need their armor then the alert should not be green anyways. SOP should be built on IC presumptions, not OOC metapresumptions. I don't think NT would approve of taking their RD taking an expensive high-tech piece of hardware for a joyride when there is no threat. The RD is not a militarized warlord, his department should not be mass producing weapons, nor should be be wearing telearmor when there is no threat.
  21. I really like this set of SOP you created, the only thing wierd is the fact that RD apparently loses the ability to carry their telebaton on Red, maybe a typo.
  22. So yeah, I examine a bomb as someone is defusing it and this happens, not even any time to say something witty before I'm immolated.
