  1. Pretty simple idea: The text following your PIN and account # would contain the relevant job page link. For example: "You are the Roboticist."
  2. I just realized something. With the remap of perma and the addition of the door remote, we can secure escape-risk prisoners without isolating them entirely. As for perma being 'impregnable' without windows, it' not security's fault someone didn't invest in an uplink implant.
  3. Or just remove the windows... Isn't that the more obvious solution? Also, perma prisoners should be tracking implanted more often that not anyway.
  4. Perhaps a more thorough enforcement of resisting arrest/refusal to cooperate will have a similar effect on discouraging 'tider-like behavior while not changing the existing laws.
  5. How's this: To act in such a manner as inhibits other crew from enjoying a safe, productive environment. For example, behaving in a manner that threatens harm to other crew, such as brandishing weapons or threatening violence verbally, would be disorderly conduct. Violent altercations and destruction of equipment are separate charges. It is suggested that the whole 5 minutes not be applied on top of other crimes except for particularly disruptive incidents. Does not stack with rioting or inciting a riot.
  6. I think the one minute bit should be stricken and a 5 minute charge for disorderly conduct be added for particularly disruptive behavior (effectively ten, as such persons will undoubtedly resist arrest). That said, everything here about dealing with non-criminal disruptive behavior seems reasonable.
  7. Meant to accommodate a large amount of players, proposed changes as follows: 6-8 Security Officer slots 6-8Engineer slots* 6 Doctor slots 2 detective slots Removal of Atmos tech and re-integration of Atmosia into engineering If there's any ideas out there to help employ the greytide, I'm all ears.
  8. The reason sunglasses are hard to find is because otherwise security's flashes would be truly useless, and flash bangs and pepper spray would be far less effective. Their being difficult to obtain is intentional and justified.
  9. Antags that infiltrate Security using impersonation, job transfers, and other methods are fine because doing so requires effort. Lets take a look at what a security antag would have available to them, without any sort of force or trickery on their part, and with using their uplink: A security officer has a weapon that can fire six insta-stun bolts in quick succession, an anti-borg and instant disarm weapon (flash), flash bangs, armor, restraints, and a metal baton that does damage comparable to a sleeping-carp punch. The Brig Physician, having equipment room access, has available to them all of the above, barring the Taser, plus sleep toxins in their sleeper, medical supplies, and enjoys a far lesser degree of scrutiny than a normal security member would. The Warden obviously has all of the above, plus flashers, entire boxes of flash bangs, tear gas, hand cuffs and zip-ties. He has access to the armory, although given his position of trust he can just take a prisoner to 'process' them and they disappear."What happened?" "I dunno, I gave 'em to Officer so-and-so for interrogation" I feel like the detectives advantages are pretty self-explanatory. And all of this is without lethals being distributed, which they would once antags in other departments get moving. To recap, making security viable antags pits loyal security staff and the crew as a whole against a force who are, to borrow terminology from the Taser electrodes discussion, 'Meant to be OP against normal crew,' without even using any TCs or other methods to gain that advantage. As for 'bad-cop' objectives, traitor sec completing their objectives in such a way that undermines or inconveniences other players without any overt antag or round-developing behavior would just add more confusion and add more fire to the anti-sec mentality.
  10. I wrote this so that people coming from other, half-decent, servers could adjust to Paradise's rules and nonexistent RP. Tips as follows: 1) 'RP' is a code word for 'sitting in the bar talking for 30 minutes, while avoiding our actual jobs'. 2) When someone says 'book club,' they really mean 'metafriend clique.' 3) As an antag, 'Steal a jetpack' is syndicate jargon for 'Blow up all the space pods, decimate security, assassinate the Captain, and loot the armory." 4) When being arrested by security, spam the radio with wild, unfounded, accusations and protests. If they take away your headset, rant in LOOC until muted. Proceed to file an admin complaint on the forums with the most ridiculous username you can think of. 5) As a security officer, know your procedures by heart 6) When an admin finally PMs you regarding all of the above, they aren't really looking for answers, they want an excuse to ban you. Give them one, go out in a blaze of glory. 7) If the ban you receive is a fair, reasonable temp ban, appeal with the maximum vitriolic nonsense you can fit in a poorly written paragraph. If it's permanent, wait a few weeks and start ban evading! Note: The above is a just a joke, please do not take it seriously or follow any advice therein. Should the Administration wish to move this thread, feel free to do so.
  11. OK, I've marked the following pages for removal: Clothing and Accessories Paperwork Repository Community
  12. I have a list of pages (mostly pulled from the 'orphaned pages' list) that really either don't deserve a page of their own, or just need to be removed. 1)http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Robust A page that devotes several rambling paragraphs to say the following: 1-Don't be a nerd 2-Don't be a greyshirt. 2)http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Greytide If can see it being (edited and) kept for comedic value, perhaps under the main lore page, but as it stands it's a joke paragraph offering an IC explanation for the Greytide and an OOC note that really doesn't say anthing you won't already find in the rules. 3)http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Guide_to_avoiding_a_banhammer It's just a page consisting almost entirely of FULLCAPS SWEARING that really doesn't meet wiki criteria. 4)http://nanotrasen.se/wiki/index.php/Paperwork_Repository A relatively unused version of the 'Example Paperwork' page I intend to add more to this list in the future, but these are the best examples I have found thus far.
  13. If the trial is not supposed to be a public spectacle, for reasons of security and expediency, holding one in the holodeck is probably one of the least favorable options.
  14. Edited to have accurate age and blood type, better formatting, and hopefully more coherent backstory and records.
  15. Perhaps it could only work with auto-injectors, that would make more sense ICly and be less easily abused.
  16. What if you were to combine ideas 2 and 3 so that the refugees can either be protected by NT, or turned over by the crew to some other entity as prisoners for some reward? Examples: Exile from the SWF, splinter cell of the Cult of Nar'sie, Overthrown regime, etc.
  17. This especially applies to the SMG Why: -Fires 3 bullets at once by default -Having it in your non-active hand leaves you at a few seconds disadvantage -Some areas, such as maintenance, are very confined and require moving in single file -You are most likely working with a team, or in a crowded area. Because of all this, one mis-click can lead to disaster. The idea is that in addition to the normal burst-select options, there be a Safety mode that does not fire when clicked.
  18. Having just learned my account is 448 days old (meh) I decided to do an introduction, something I've been ignoring since I joined the forums following an engineering mishap. So, hope to be more active on the forums.
  19. 8 clowns slipping security, thanks to the type of HoP who always messes around with Job Management.
  20. Subject's contract expired and renewal was declined. On the inside of his lower right arm is a tattoo of a key and flintlock pistol crossed under a wide, singular eye Other Notes: Beret Aficionado Violinist Recognizable by distinct manner of dress and verbose language
  21. Then we might consider the above Idea. Whereas a security checkpoint on the way into the round is silly, a checkpoint on the way out will help security weed out last-minute scumbags and traitor-potaters.
  22. The main SoP page talks about 'The Last Direct Order from Central Command.' Should this be changed to Code Delta?
