Here's a drawing of Churchy and Edward Anderson O'Connell by OblivionsGate

They were both great people to work with, and mygod their styles are probably a nice change to see on here!  Lol

Edward, in his head: "She is melting on my designer clothes. My BUCCI clothes. I payed like 52k credits for these pants. And she's melting all over it."

Hehe, I hope to get more dark themed art like that soon...

    Anyhow, here's more art!

So, some miscommunication with the artist led to Santa Medic tending to an injured Rsik. Originally it was meant to be a medibot, and the joke was that there's Rsik, pumped full of bullet holes and a little medibot comes along and injects him, which does feck all for him...

But santa medic works as well, if not better!

"Ho ho ho, I'm actually injecting you with an extremely lethal toxin!"

    "What the fuck, Santa?"

"Nobody will hear the screams of a dying man. Ho ho ho!"

Now that's a panic attack if I've ever seen one.

    Especially to a rookie.

Seriously, if I had that many alarms going off, I would just jump into the singulo

They're only 5 alarms. You could have the situation remedied with the cost of a few dozen crewmembers' lives. No biggie. No sweat. No problem. Don't worry about it.

  4. From what I see and from what I can understand, simple mobs' attacks do a lot of damage. I've heard off of the discord server that you could have one bust open a locker just from the sheer amount of damage that they can do. Now, this is fine for mining beasts and space carp, but various humanoid like mobs are classified as simple mobs (you can't stun, they don't process chems) like the Russians from the overtaken NT station gateway or the syndicate agents and operatives from the wild west. I wanted to know if it was possible to make it so that simple mobs that, realistically should not be able to break your bones within a few punches. If it is possible, why hasn't it been done yet?

Nothing will stop Zeke from being flirty.

For some clarification, the slime girl is Churchy, she's like 24(?) And she's Zeke's housemate. The dog is Sax, and is Zeke's floofy baby.

grumbles angrily about all slimes looking the same. Tell your baby to step off of churchy's game, or there will be

problem with that is then it makes the already pretty hard task of killing the AI even harder. realistically yes the AI would be more protected, but on the flipside the antags are players too and if you make it too hard then it isn't fun anymore.

Can't really stick in my two cents here but I believe he's saying there's a meta around invading the AI's sat that makes it easy - if it was already hard enough I doubt he would be making this post.

  10. Just an idea, suits and blazers/coats/suit jackets should not be both in the jumpsuit/internal clothing area, the Blazer should be in the armour/external clothing area. Similar to how the detective's suit is just a shirt, his trench coat going in the external clothing area. IAA has a similar getup if memory serves.

  11. Hello? Is this thing working?

    Test test.

Oh, hi, didn't see you there. Partially because this is a recording from a tape, but ignore that. My name is Seku Retee, or otherwise known as officer Retee. Now, usually the Head of Security or Warden would fill you in but at the moment they're on some research stations filling in as substitutes for the missing head of security & warden on the aforementioned research station. So, I'm going to go over some of the basics to make sure your ass doesn't get put in a wheelchair, you understand?

    Your Equipment

Right now, head to an equipment locker. Take your armour vest, helmet, security belt, taser and baton. Adjust your armour vest onto your torso, security jumpsuits should have a almost belt-like contraption to hold the armour vest securely onto you. Strap on your security belt and slot in your baton, and put your helmet on. There should be a little holster for your taser in your best, shove it in. A lot of the other equipment are only needed if the crew is really unruly or some serious shit is going down, like coporate espionage or demons sent from demonland.

    Coworkers

HoS is your main man, supposed to coordinate your team. Also, supposedly skilled in combat, although half the ones they ship are braindead and don't know how a trigger works. Work with your fellow officers - they are your comrades, your brothers, etc etc dumb shit. Detective is an asshole half the time, but do YOU have a degree in forensics? Thought so. Occasionally disable him with your disabler for fun if he's acting like an asshole. Brig phys.. don't get on their bad side. I told one that their jacket smelled and the fucker bended both my arms and paralyzed me in under 5 seconds. Don't fuck with people who have medical expertise in general. Warden is... Unstable to say the least. You could have one fascinated with shotguns, fascinated with cigerattes, etc etc. Also, a scary mofo. Stole their beret one time, ended up taking a trip to the medbay because he somehow fucking sent my lungs to a Syndicate Outpost by slamming his hand down on my chest.

    Shitters

Yell, ask them to stop, arrest, take to processing, throw in cell. Only deviate from this if your life is in danger by doing any of these steps. Or, like I do, hack your gasmask and tase! Always works.

And.. That's it, I guess. Hail the syndicate. Or something.

Fursamie, I don't think you understand how different in scope the examples I listed are compared to what you are suggesting.

Ever read the code? Ever tried to understand how different they are?

And yes, IPC drinks and processable chem is a terrible idea.

Why don't you try removing it and see what's the reaction around here?

Like I have said, I do not code nor understand it. This is from my perspective, as someone who does not code.

You are not comparing apple to orange.

Cyborg is frequently used and making an upgrade system is relatively modular. a bunch of item that only pertains to Cyborg.
Plasmaman hardsuit is literally just setting a species flag and adding in sprite
Same goes for Vox breathing mask.
IPC drinks is absolutely horrible because it add in a snowflake check for everyone else checking whether a species can process a reagent..then add in another check on those specific reagent checking whether you are an IPC to process them.
Golem only abilities is literally just initializing the golem and giving them spells. Literally that's it.

    While IPC genetics?

That's copying an entire system and applying it to a singular race and then making sure all the relevant systems in the game check for this specific case of IPC-unique mecvhanics.

Do you understand how different in scope IPC genetics and all those five (or four) examples are?

    • Cyborg being often used does not matter due to the fact it has an entire system dedicated to cyborg - since I do not code nor understand it I will put it in my terms - if making cyborg-only items is easy, how about making IPC genetics based more on a sort of randomized RnD, stick tech in and you'll get an upgrade or something of the like that will only be able to be used when inserted into the body (via robotic surgery I suppose), similar to how VoG and other items work in various other servers.
    • My point was the plasmamen hardsuit had features a plain hardsuit simply did not, and then the abilities of a normal hardsuit. Able to withstand freezing temperatures, self extinguishing (5x tho only), withstand space etc etc. Haven't tested, but pretty sure a normal hardsuit would not be able to extinguish a player on fire.
    • Vox mask, like above, should be a normal breathmask. Vulps, drask, and kidan have extremely different mouths (Judging by sprite and wiki more), yet all use the same. So if a guy is dying and sees a vox mask, can't use it because "vox only".
    • It's already a feature, so saying it's bad doesn't really refute my point seeing as it's in the game.
    • Correct me if I'm wrong, but there ARE golem ONLY abilities, is there not? So coding that in would essentially be coding in an entire system for one rarely activated species. The entire problem you have with my post.

Again, I don't code, take this with a grain of salt.

IPC genetics wont happen because too snowflaky to make a system just for one race to use.

IPC genetics is in no way "snowflakey". If you think that's snowflakey, what about the

    • Cyborg upgrade system
    • Plasmaman hardsuit
    • Vox only breathing mask
    • IPC drinks
    • Golem only abilities?

However, this will probably never happen because the players/coders whine "wtf such a huge buff I just got ass blasted by an ipc that has guns for hands what the shit!!!" It'd be nice if there were IPC disabilities like arms malfunctioning every so often (like 5 minutes) or faulty optical sensors, outdated monitors, illegal chassis (literally just makes you arrest worthy for security). Like the humans, can't have too many buffs or else your head will explode!!!!
