I will mask if I'm the first cultist caught, and there's no existing mask - both to warn other cultists, give them a hand, better coordinate the culties, and deprive sec of hard evidence that there's a cult.

Mass-masking - as shown in this case - doesn't really make sense though. After more than two masks they start to become hilariously pointless.

THere can be more than one mask? Doesn't the verb go away or something after there is one? I seem to remember something like that.

I'd be quite upset as a traitor to go through the hassle of breaking into Perma to spring my colleague just to find that they cryoslept... but I guess that isn't -too- much different than if they committed suicide.

Yeah, happened to me once. Organized two mining hardsuits, flew up to perma, broke in, found two SSD prisoners. It sucks, but it will happen, if people think they can't get out, the round is basically over for them anyway.

  3. Maybe not. I did direct a rather lengthy tirade full of four letter words at the admins at the time. Not sure I'd want to make an appeal apologizing for that, especially since I know that I meant it at the time.

It happened, I think she played Security Officer for way to long, play bartender or chaplain instead, for relaxation and pleasant chat. Also I like IA job when there is full of bad security to give some hope to poor prisoners, with my lawyer acting conversations.

Don't think I could do that. I've found the only thing I hate more than cleaning up other people's problems is feeling useless in a crisis and letting other people handle it.

I'm gone. Thought I'd write a message here. Told the admins to ban me so I'm not tempted to come back again. This entire game is just not enjoyable anymore. It's full of validhunting, griefing, comdoms, shitsec and general incompetence all the way around. Not even innocent incompetence. Lazy incompetence of the "eh, I don't want to do my job, I'll just leave this corpse out to rot/not set up the engine/go to the bar and get drunk instead of arresting criminals" kind. Playing an even halfway sensible character means one get either griefed or spends an entire shift running behind twenty other characters and cleaning up for both one's superiors and colleagues. It's too fucking tiring and infuriating and there's just no upside anymore. I can't even remember when I just last had, I don't know, a pleasant chat with another character. It's all shouting and firing people for malicious incompetence and arresting greytide or being killed.

I'd say it was nice while it lasted, but I honestly can't remember when that was.

    SINA- out.

In the general sense, it's (often newer) players pointlessly griefing. Attacking people, killing people, vandalism.

More specifically, it's bald, black eyed thirty year old male humans in grey suits (default appearance on the server for people who don't set a character), who run around without talking, hitting things with a toolbox.

SINA- has two hobbies. Collecting weapons and tinkering with her chassis. NT makes her use a standard issue IPC chassis, but at home, she has a few modified ones with cool extra features. And guns. Since her dream is to be one day get her own combat mech and put her brain into that (after she has added some normal arms to it to hold things) she lives in what is basically a storage unit with no water or windows, to save money. Not that she needs any, she just needs an industrial power supply.

She's also being old and grumpy about how IPC today are not properly grateful for their elders who almost had to go through a full blown civil war for basic rights. Oh, and she free IPC chassis repair in her off time whenever she's not too grumpy.

Let's see who I can think of spontaneously. Maybe more later.

HOS: Tristen Edwards. I mean, Cecilia is good too, but everyone else is just a placeholder for Tristen. I can't even say if he's the best HOS, but he's the HOS.

    CMO: Heather Somna.

    Rep: Loves-to-Hug

    Sec officers: Sergey Kurilyochov

    Blueshield: Rynnt Oenthe

    Detective: Jonah Bright

The problem is, there are two wildly different views on what "bad" and "good" Sec is.

    Security definitions:

Well a bad security player is an unrobust person who can't take down and arrest criminals and antags. A bad sec player will bow to SoP even if they KNOW they got a perp. A good sec player doesn't let SoP and spacelaw get in the way of busting a criminal. They keep those horrible shitters locked up for the longest time possible, and make sure the person behind the keyboard is punished. Goodsec plays to win.

    Non-sec definitions:

A bad sec player doesn't give a fuck about SoP and spacelaw. A bad sec player finds reasons to arrest people, and will keep digging till they get a reason. A good sec player talks to people, mediates disputes, and avoids dragging people to the brig unless they have to.

From department head perspective, I can just give an example. HoS is of equal rank to all other department heads. I roll CE, I see HoS wandering around engineering, I tell him to GTFO. I get "I got access I can be here". Flipside, watch how fast I, as CE, get tased if I decide to go wandering around security to "inspect". "Well, I have access I can be here". "Nuh uh sec is a secure area 15 minutes trespassing also telling cap to fire you."

Yeah, no. As Warden, I have stunbatoned officers who tried punching antags. I've gone to IAA to demote officers who repeatedly ignore brigging procedure despite warnings. I've stood between heads of security with lasguns and prisoners to be wrongfully executed.

Some of us do care more about SOP than robustness. But yes, the reason why I quit security is because so many don't.

  10.

SINA- as warden, they're good at it and, unlike 70-80% of wardens they aren't a pain to interact with.

Thanks. I do try. I mean, I know how much prison sucks from experience. Being a bit nice to prisoners goes a long way to probably making someone's shift more bearable.
