  1. I find it interesting that the AI upload is off by itself, instead of being accessible from the bridge. That might make it easier to acess, though placing the terminals in the middle of the room instead of next to a wall should make that considerably harder. Still feel as if it's probably easier to do stealthily, though.

Also, I agree on more maint. There don't seem to be any really deep maint areas, like sci maint on the Cyberiad. This feels like it might hinder some antags.

  2. Admin names: Blessedtuna, Rb303 and Normalyman were online, probably them.

    my ckey: Splgrk

    My ingame name: SINA-, Warden

Date of incident: 16.09.2018, aroudn midnight GMT. (Time of this post)

Complaint : abuse of power, misconduct, general murderboning.

So, three people calling themselves NT officers aarrived on station with no announcement. AT this point, we were suspicious. Then, the AI called in saying that one of those officers had tried to kill it. We searched them, everything seemed fine, but we were suspicious. At this point, the Captain faxed NT and got a fax back saying "These are not NT officers".

That was enough then. We armed up, I walked up to them. A few taser rounds were exchanged. At which point the NT officers startted pulling pulse rifles and dual-eswords and indiscriminantly murdering crew. Well over a dozen dead including most of sec, no explanation. At that point, we pretty much considered it confirmed that those were nukies or something, using stealth tactics.

THEN they started sending in statements over the announcement system that they were real NT.

  3. I mean, as an  event idea, it's not the worst. Star Trek did similar things (ooh, let's make a holodeck event round! Instead of holocarp, it spawns a dozen famous fictional villains). If we make it an event, I'd suggest taking someone other than Adolf Hitler, though, that's a bit less problematic. either someone much further back in history, or someone fictional, i.e. Kommandant Karlov, the captain of KC13, or some other fictional tyrant from our timeline.

    Genetics superpower Bob feeling.

Will write big red texts messages in chat notifying you if there is a Bob on station. Will not work for Roberts and B0Bs.

Oh and please, add used ticked to anyones inventory who arrives late, there must be logic behind thia arrival.

    Bob, the level 8 biohazard?

Edit: event idea: shuttle delayed because of hyperspace bypass construction site. Everyone arrives 15 minutes into the shift, crammed into the same shuttle.

  5. Well, now we're just making things that are annoying, or used by traitors to trick people into killing themselves...

BRAWNDO - It has what plants crave! Nanotrasen's new experiment in using sodas as fertilizer. Comes in a fertilizer bottle, instantly kills plants. Works on Dionae like weedkiller.

Fluffy toolbox. Looks like a toolbox, can be found in maint, as well as arrivals and escape tool storage. Has several layers of cotton wool and felt on the outside, so when someone is hit, feels cuddly instead of causing damage.

    Mime fax

As above, but saying anything on it gets you demoted from being a mime.

What if you send a picture of yourself making a gesture?

Edit: possibly traitor item, but: instead of mime Megaphone, the mime Miniphone. All speech on the same screen is whispered instead of said, so can only be heard by people directly adjacent.

  7. Nonsense.

Also, these are all completely true facts.

Syndicate uplink PDAs always have *boom* as their ringtone.

People with dual e-swords take 30% more damage from fists, for balance.

Closets keep you safe from syndicate bombs and other explosives.

IPCs can't be traitors, because they are loyalty implanted at production.

Since there's no garlic in the game, vampires are instead weak to watermelons.

Vox can't see you if you don't move.

In conclusion - majority of people agrees that trying to arrest antag alone will most likely get you killed, since, even if you ignore sop at all silently tazing a person on green, vampire or cling will stun you back with screach, get up and kill you. If you try to follow sop by stating arrest reason and asking to come to brig (which is almost always impossible since a person you are trying to arrest will run away nonstop), you will be dead officer 8 out of 10 times. Which is far from fun. 10% goes for good people who will at least listen to you and only then killing, and last 10% you will be stripped by bored greytider.

Solution is - always walk in pairs, there is a reason detectives in movies work in pairs. I do that myself. Pulling a buddy behind will make you both 10 times more productive and strong. And you will have all the time in the world to talk, state reason for arrest and so on.I do that, and majority of other experienced players do that. But those, who do, experienced players, often also follow sop as much as possible. And experienced players pair up with... who do you think? Other experienced players. Which leaves newbies to die alone. I try to help other officers, but i cant help all of them, and i sometimes also want to be part of robust setup.

And OP wants to enforce IC stuff like SOP OOCly by admins, making more new players abandon already underpopulated department. Please no. If there is a solution to unpleasant arrests going on everyday, that is not it. Actually, officer dont have to do anything you want him to do, in my opinion. This is expensive research facility owned by private space megacorporation, not a "goverment" of some sort. If i think you hurt my station, slow down research or something like that, i will permalock you down. Sure, we also has OOC thing about others fun an such, so i am always reasonable. Sop is guidelines, not "law". Want officers to follow sop? Why do they have to follow arrest sop if you broke it yourself thus getting you arrested?

I'm fine with being killed by an antag as an officer, really. I mean, in the end, an antag has to take on all of sec, not just one officer. The first one to meet them gets killed, but either they get a warning out or eventually someone wonders where they went, and then the hunt is on. No, the annoying part is not getting killed by an antag. But what made me ragequit before was when other officers ignore your cries for help, or just walk past your corpse without caring. Or if no one ever wonders where three out of their eight officers went. (Actually, could we put regular coms checks in the SOP? Nothing is worse than officers who are mute on coms.)

Walking in pairs, for me, is a red alarm procedure, like lethals.

In a shadowling or cultist round, and often with changelings too, the first officer running into them is boned. That's part of the round expectation for me.  Your goal is to go down so messily that someone else notices.

It took about half an hour to go into crit. Once into crit I died fairly quickly.  There was a toxins refactor fairly recently, that might have changed it. I don't remember vomitting healing you before. Regardless though, the point is that it's really not a big deal for a Vox to removed from their tank for 30 seconds.

Definitely new then. I do remember putting the odd vox in crit in processing. Or being put into crit in processing.

I had lots of problems with secs, but given the mechanics I think there's a strong incentive to not give warning, as people already said, and can understand why they do it. But I think is reasonable to try and make them follow SOP at least on code green, agaist people who are not suspected antags, who probably will just run away and not kill them. Even thou greytides are the worse and don't deserve it.

I also would very much like to get anouncements for arrest status. Once beepsky got me while fixing a breach, I was uncuffed by my engies friends, went to the brig, HoS was there for some reason, talked to him and got everything cleared. But i pretty much could have gone there before, when there was no critical issue to fix in the station. I get the sec won't do it because most people won't present themselfs thou.

Yeah. I occasionally PM people as warden if they could come in to talk about a misdemeanour or similar. The problem is that for a lot of crimes, that just means people will just stash all their loot in a locker in maint somewhere before turning up and denying everything.

  11. It's not approaching a suspected armed cultist. It's more "there's a masked dude in maint, I saw them previously collect some cable and rods". Yes, on the OOC-level, the assumption is "ling or cultist", but ingame, I'd rather go "Morning, Sir", and walk by. Or just walking up to two people standing in the same corner in maint. Sometimes it's nothign, sometimes they stuff a paper in your face because they are  cultists, sometimes not. OOC, they all make me suspicious.

  12. That's not been my experience, really. I mean, maybe you don't die, but you do go into crit, which is bad enough.

Anyway, I try to warn people not to do it again, with small crimes, unless they are an ass about it. "Stop that!" *keeps doing it* "Sir, can you hear me, stop that¨" *keeps doing it* "Right, you're getting tazed and brigged". If someone looks a lot like an antag, well, that's part of the challenge. To stand next to a cultist, ask them nicely to show their bags and then have a quick draw contest when they pull some paper.
