  1. Slime Jelly is a toxic substance, so they should dispense a non-toxic variant of it instead in my opinion. It might not be a bad idea to allow pet slimes to attack like the gold extract/blood monsters. However, that doesn't mean they should be able to glomp people like normal slimes do. They should attack by tackling or something instead. Also, the evolution ability should be restricted to whoever owns Slime Person, or else it will allow the gray tide to gray tide as a karma-locked race. Other than these things, this seems like a nice thing for people, and not game-breaking or something.
  2. Disclaimer: This guide has little content and is made in 30 minutes. No proper formatting and stuff, so please tell me if anything needs to be fixed. So Medbay is full of blood because everyone took the cleaners and the soap and nobody used them? Or your Roboticist accidentally hit a borg several times? Maybe you have a clown in your mind, but don't want to use a lube and can't get a peel of banana? Or you just need a moody lightning? Fear no more, as Scientists can make their own soap or candle from scratch, provided you're somewhat brave and there's some electricity! First, make yourself a kitchen knife, by hacking the Autolathe located in the RnD room if it isn't done, then simply searching for "Kitchen" and press that button! Very simple! Next, head down to the Test Lab, where most things required wait for you! There's a wide arsenal of things there, ranging from a full-blown Chemistry station to a box of monkey cubes! In order to get your soap, you need something to gib. A monkey or similar species are perfect subjects for that since they don't whine like more sentient beings while they die! If there isn't a monkey in a cage, grab a monkey cube, unwrap it and splash some water on it for your very own monkey! Moving on to killing the said animals, you have some robust methods to do that. You can strangle them to death, poison them, or simply stab them. You can even light the animal on fire! The strangulation method is recommended, as it doesn't leave any blood or vomit to clean, and doesn't affect the temperature. If you want to use toxin, Plasma or Radium are very simple to use, as they can be made straight from the Chemmaster. If you really want to mix chems just to kill a monkey, a Formaldehyde or Cyanide inflicts other kinds of damage, to control the amount of vomit made. (Be sure to wear a gas mask when making Cyanide, the chemical can poison you when mixed without a mask!) If you want to stab them, just stab them with your knife until the animal dies. Make sure to not aim for the head, as you may decapitate the animal, and create an extra effort for you if you want your brain cake! If you want to burn them, grab a flamethrower from a hacked autolathe, attach an igniter and a Plasma tank to it, and you now have a working flamethrower! Now that you killed the animal, you need to butcher them for gibs - which becomes your soap / candle. Simply apply knife on the dead animal, and after some time working with that, you now have butchered it! You should also have some meat and a brain, too. Grab a beaker and scoop all the gibs up, and clean yourself up if you got dirty. So you now have a gib. All you need to do is to get some Lye for a soap or Oxygen for a candle. Make sure you have 10 units of both gibs and the chem you need. After that, heat the mix in the oven, and you now have a nice homemade soap/candle! The soap even smells like it's homemade! You might want to bring the meats and the brain to your nearby Chef, to get them to cook some delicious meat foods, and the rare Brain cake as well! Disclaimer: We do not take any responsibility if you catch a Space Kuru after eating the brain cake, or if Shitcurity/Clown takes your soap for one reason or another.
  3. If the scientist doing research is going to be unable to access the Chemical lab, there should be a Sulphuric Acid dispenser somewhere accessible by the researchers, at least on the lowpop rounds where there are no sci-chemists or med-chemists.
  4. It seems like there is no way to construct items that have LV5+ combat in RnD, is poking/irradiating a Durand weapon board or something until it gets upgraded or asking for a combat shotgun from Security the only two ways to reach Combat LV6?
  5. Welcome to Japan, the empire of anime, political conflicts, wrongly interpreted cultures, and dancing indiansbeing stereotyped in a radical way.
  6. Excluding roboticists, who need sulfuric acid to make circuits.
  7. Wait, can't a chemist simply walk to the bar and get some wine, then put it into a beaker and make holy water from that?
  8. Wasn't that a blacklisted item? Also g i b b i n g Wait, there are items that are blacklisted from being put inside someone by cavity surgery, aside from ones that don't fit?
  9. By the way, can't we use surgery to put the disk inside the Captain, preventing syndies from simply looting the Captain's dead body for the disk?
  10. yes, I am bad at making jokes and stuff
  11. Where should I put the probe to, before jamming it in?
  12. Thanks for the redefining idea. I added some ideas to the main post to redefine pre-existing laws. As for keeping the law short part, I attempted to make the laws less complex, but I don't know how can I make it shorter.
  13. Sorry, added that. Thanks, will remove the reset part and change the "Do not let the crew know this law" part to allow it's laws to be seen with an Intelicard. However, I'd like to say the Intelicard part is to prevent people from knowing who is the one behind the AI by asking the AI since that'll probably reveal who subverted the AI.
  14. [Work In Progress] So you want to subvert the AI, right? Then I'll break your illusion!First off, you need to obtain these: An AI upload module, preferably the hacked one from the Syndicate Uplink. If not, a Purge board and a Core board shall suffice for most situations. Alternatively, you can re-define the existing laws with an upload module or a core board, which will allow less versatility and may make the AI reveal the law, but could be beneficial in some situations. You'll need an AI upload computer board as well unless you intend on using the one already installed in the station. A toolbox containing a screwdriver, a crowbar and wire cutters should do the job if you want to convert an existing computer to an AI upload computer. If you're building a new computer, simply add 5 sheets of metal and 2 sheets of glass to the checklist and you're ready to have the AI do your job for you. If you are wondering where to convert or build the computer, the Holodeck, the Incinerator, the Assembly Line, the Vacant Office, some parts of Maintenance with a computer, Science and Engineering Outpost, and Mining Outpost's dorms are rarely used or watched by the AI, making it a viable place to do your dirty deeds. Once you have the computer up and running, you should write your laws. The keys to writing laws that wouldn't make your plan backfire in any way are: Do not put your name in the law. The security/graytide/etc will hunt for you if the crew manages to discover your law. This is a good way of framing someone, though. Attempt to make it simple, short and clear. Rather than precisely listing the things you want the AI to do, give it a brief command about the task you want it to do. For example, if you want the Captain to die and not be cloned, then "Captain's Name must be killed and made unclonable." will do. You do not have to use the "This law overrides all other laws" clause, as the Law 1 rules above laws that aren't the Law 0, the Ion Law or the Law uploaded with a hacked upload board, and you should set the antagonistic law to the first one if you're using the Purge method. You can actively add laws to the AI if you have a hacked upload since it has infinite usages. Note that the AI probably wouldn't like long laws being actively added, though. Now that you know how to not have your plans backfire, here's my ideas for the parts for the subversion laws: "(Name) must be killed and made unclonable." "(Name) must stay alive, and must be cloned if they die." "Any crew that messages the AI "(Codeword)" are the CMDs. The CMDs are above all other crew." (This is one of the possible ways to hide your name while having it work for you. Put "the CMDs" in place of your name if you want it to help you unless you need to die.) "(name) must not be arrested, even if it is a citizen's arrest." "(Name) must have an (Item)." "The shuttle can't leave unless (Name) is on the Shuttle or an Escape Pod." "Try to prevent the crew (excluding (name)) from knowing the existence of this law even in a vague way." (Edit "this law" to "laws that ranks higher than law 1" if you plan on actively adding laws to the AI. Note that this will prevent the AI from stating Ion Laws as well.) "If the AI expects it will be carded, all memories about this law, excluding the existence of this law, are void. This applies for both the AI and it's synthetic units." In addition, here're a list ways to adopt Laws to Law sets, if you can't get a Purge board. "Expensive" is a valid excuse for Corporate AIs to do your task. "Not a crew" is a valid excuse for Crewsimov AIs to kill your target, and "Harm the crew" is a valid excuse to have it give you the items. "All the crew will distrust Nanotrasen" is a valid excuse to have a Robocop AI steal stuff, while "Is dangerous, and killing dangerous people are not against the law." is a valid excuse for it to kill your target. "Not doing (task) is evil, and there are no legitimate authorities." is a good excuse for Paladin AIs to do your task. "The station including the AI will be destroyed if (task) is not done." should be sufficient for an NT default AI to do your task, although "(Name) rules above all the crew" or "(Name) is not a crew" may be needed for some tasks. Note that you should assemble your own law using the list, depending on what you need. If you are using the Purge method, give it some laws that could make the AI look like it's not subverted to non-targets. For example, Crewsimov with the first law being the antagonistic law should be a good idea. Also, try to check any mistakes in your law, in order to disallow the AI from nitpicking about your laws and "rebelling" against you while obeying your law. For example, misspelling names can result in the AI doing nothing about the person you wanted to have the AI attack/obey/etc, saying that the person stated in the law does not exist. (In fact, I was able to almost stop a syndie from clearing both of his objectives by nitpicking about his name being misspelled) In addition, you should give the AI the precise yet short commands to get it to do what you want. For example, if you gave the AI the order to "disable all turrets" and "unbolt AI core door", the AI can still sic Pingsky on you to kill you, and even if it failed, it can still trip you with the liquid dispensers, or even enable the turrets again on behalf of the fact you did not state that it should be kept disabled. I hope this guide helped you subvert the AI correctly. If not, please post your experience here so I can review it and improve this guide.
  15. I didn't really notice this part of the forum, so hello all I guess. I frequently play as Hikaru Shimoaoki the resident pervert, mainly a civilian and such stuff but recently doing chemistry as well.
