    -snip-

Quite a funny round, in my opinion, with an admin blunder leading to the AI blaming borers for a hyper-killing virus, a single borer ruining half of the station's rep, and several people being very suspicious of the two identical people claiming to be a couple of Blueshields.

I was wondering why there were two of you walking around, I was the surgeon cyborg (P.A.R.A.G.O.N. if memory serves), and I ended up having to do a lot of cloning as the virus went around, because we either had too few doctors, or they all died of the virus too. There was a pretty funny incident after cloning Daniel Me as well, since he roleplayed out the brain damage, and me an the geneticist tried to assure him that he was fine. After the brain damage was gone, he was happy because he had apparently gained hair after cloning, being bald beforehand.

Haha, my character was one that was yelling at you that round. He went full anti-xenomorph after seeing somebody get huggered and gib.

Definitely one of the strangest rounds was when I got geneticist antag. My objective is to steal the captain's jumpsuit, and escape alive. I think to myself "Alright, easy enough, I am the geneticist, let's see if I can't find any powers that might help." First three blocks end up being polymorph, x-ray vision, and chameleon. At that point, I am stunned at how lucky I was at that, and start formulating a plan. Alright, so I'll find the captain alone using the crew monitoring computer, parapen him, polymorph into him, steal his stuff, give him some random UE, and leave him to have fun trying to convince people he is the captain, when both my character and the captain go missing.

When I finally have everything I need, I check the computer, the captain is in the cryodorms, SSD. I sigh and adminhelp asking for new objectives. Steal the CE's hardsuit. There is no CE, I'm just going to see if the HoP will agree to reassign me and— I.G.O.R. (AI): "THE SINGULARITY IS LOOSE." Aaaaand nope. At that point I just head over to escape and board the shuttle like a normal crew member.

That antag round was probably one of the worst I've had as far as having my objectives ruined by unforeseen circumstances.

Methods of combating atmos problems without using air alarms may be a good idea to cover, given that air alarms are currently broken. Currently, the only way to fight plasma fires consists of scrubbers and supercooled N2.

From my experience, it does seem that the best way to learn to "read" the pipes and determine how gas flows is to actually try atmos in-game. Learning to do so makes it much easier to work with the atmos system, and be able to fix it should it be sabotaged.

  4.

Don't be scared of the pipes, they will not pump dangerous gases everywhere. It is actually really difficult to flood the station with harmful gases unless you're very specifically trying to or you drag a canister somewhere and open it. By default, there is only one pump that will dump gas from the yellow loop into the distribution (blue) loop, and it is in the enclosed area in atmos, and you should never really accidentally trigger it.

Edit: Image with the pump highlighted.

    Fuck asshole prisoners

Yeah, I was sec that round as well. Had to do something similar to the guy who wanted the book that the detective was investigating, minus the harm baton. After playing a few rounds as sec without a HUD ( the one downside of being Kidan :( ) I realize how many horrible prisoners sec officers have to put up with.

    • Bad atmos techs that just run off with the fireaxe without saying anything, and don't bother to help with atmos problems or set up the pipes.

    • Bad engineers and CE's who fail to set up either engine.

Bad command staff that fail to realize how everything is falling apart around them.

Civilians who run into the medbay and don't say anything.

Any medbay where there is nobody at the crew monitoring computer for an extended period of time unless there is a virus loose or other emergency.

Civilians who climb over tables to get into the kitchen or behind the bar counter.

Just about any clown that isn't Button Jim.

Security that brigs people with no good reason, and just lets the station fall into chaos.

Any head or a captain who defends said bad security.

    Roboticists who illegally borg people.

Pretty comprehensive list for me, they especially bother me when I'm observing games and I know I can't yell at people for being bad at their jobs.

  7. Yeah, I saw the wish granter one. Somebody wished for laser eyes, and got them, however whenever he used them it caused him horrible pain. A civilian wished for power to destroy everyone in his way and got turned into a wraith. I believe my wish was for security to stop chasing a ninja, who actually seemed to have non-harmful objectives, instead the ERT started chasing him around.

So I had the traitor objective to prevent any humans from escaping on the shuttle, naturally, everything went horribly wrong.

You were that guy? I turn off my internals for 5 seconds, then N2O floods the room, and I get caught in a fire.

If you want to learn atmos (rather hard to kill everyone as long as you don't try to and use yer brain) We could organise a time to meet so I can teach you.

There is also my (massively incomplete) guide here: http://nanotrasen.se/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1285

That would be great, I have only just started learning engineering and would like to learn atmos as well. The only experience I've had with it so far was getting randomly tossed into it, and I pretty much just used a carbon copy of the setup in your guide.

  10. That round was pretty insane, I was one of the roboticists, and had a drunk chemist throw a bottle of hallucinogen at me when I asked for sulphuric acid, and the other roboticist stole a mech and DNA locked it. The Science wing was fairly stable besides that, and it was surprising neither side really tried to get us to help them considering R&D researched everything, and we were running around with a Durand at the end.

Hello Paradise, you might know me from the past few weeks in game, where I go by TheDZD in OOC and usually play as Gunner Hughes IC. I'm fairly new to Space Station 13, and this is pretty much the first server I started playing on, and I have to say it has been great. I'm still learning the different jobs on the station, although I've strayed away from anything that could possibly end up in me accidentally killing a bunch of people, such as Atmospheric Technician, Station Engineer, and all of the Head jobs.

I'm also still learning the ins and outs of the game, so I haven't really created much of a character bio for my character yet, since I'm not entirely sure what jobs I really like to play as. The community has been great so far, and the admins have been really helpful whenever I ask questions in Adminhelp, which sometimes ends up being 5-10 questions within one round.

So thanks, and see you all around the station.
