  1. To be honest, I've been called Churchy a few times, but you were definitely the first, Tigercat. I liked it, so when people are having difficulties saying HereticChurch or typing it, I just tell them to call me Churchy.
  2. Oh man! I have a feeling Skrell will become a lot more common with that addition. Perhaps becoming almost as popular as humans... maybe.
  3. Oh man, I really love the look of that HoS dress~
  4. Now now, everyone. Vox are to be respected just as much as any Human or Tajaran aboard this station. Sure, it can be said that the Shoal have assaulted the station and stolen from us many times, but that does not mean every Vox is to be treated unfairly. A Vox working in medical saved my life once. In regards to the suggestions, a lot of them seem quite reasonable. I doubt NT would drastically change it's ways aboard stations just to allow a species to feel more at home, but the ones involving the lives of the Vox would make sense to fix up.
  5. I actually really like this idea. I donno if damage thresholds for the limbs coming off would trigger for some weapons, like stun batons. Perhaps for blunt weapons, the limb can be permanently crippled, and it would need surgery for it to be repaired, or even simply removed and replaced. The damage thresholds for limb removal could stay for the sharp weapons, like butcher's knives and eswords. However great an idea this is, it does sound like it could be difficult to impliment, but then, I don't do coding, so I wouldn't know.
  6. I haven't ever really tried it, to be honest, so I don't know what to ask. Perhaps I'll get into it after reading the guide. It might be fun... if it really is as simple as you put it.
  7. Hey everyone. I'm HereticChurch, if you didn't already read my username. I've been putting off this introduction because I couldn't really think of anything to put in it, but after reading a few (All of them) I feel I might have an idea what to put. Anyway, yeah, I'm HereticChurch, and thats what I usually go by online, though most of the time people call me Church, Churchy, or Heretic. Its just a happy coincidence the name is a bit of an oxymoron, as I just was putting Heretic before a character from a show I like's name, Church. I live in Ontario, Canada, in a pretty small town, and am 19 years old. I first got into Space Station 13 after my friends told me about it after a session of D&D. I just sorta peeked over his shoulder and asked what he was playing, and he explained to me all he knew, with a story of a cannibalistic chef stealing corpses from the morgue being apprehended by him and a security cyborg particularly piquing my interest. I got my other friend to send me a link to the Byond downloader, and soon after, I was crying silently as I tried to learn the controls without anyone helping. This was all about 8 or 9 months ago, give or take a few more months because I'm terrible at telling time. The first few times I played, I was just spawning in as a mouse, to get a feel for the movement, and finding my way around the place with the vents. Soon after, I felt I was ready to actually take on a job, and became a security Cyborg. I got a feel for space law, took advantage of my inability to be knocked down, and saved a few people on a few different stations. Eventually I created a real character, Gloria Church, and she's been my main character ever since. Her first job was being a roboticist, which I really enjoyed. From there, she branched out into almost every position (Except Atmos Tech and Virologist, that shit looks complicated), and eventually, I made her settle on being mostly security. I have a few other characters I use (Kia Avandeyev, Katherine DeVries, Kazak Rezzaka), but they aren't as developed as her. I came to Paradise Station because it advertised being a good mix of action and RP, which is what I loved. I stayed for a while, then explored some of the other stations which were, at the time, more popular. I'd always find myself coming back here, though, because it's the best freaking server, ever. Plus, I'm familiar with quite a few of the people and admins. I still like to try out other stations from time to time, like a sandbox or goon station, but I pretty much consider Paradise my main station. I like to think of myself as rather well-versed in a lot of the mechanics in this game, but that could just be my ego... So yeah, I think I said all I needed to say for a proper introduction. I hope this is sufficient... Feel free to comment or ask questions here, I guess.
  8. I don't believe the DNA gives you an "absorption" if you use the quick DNA stealing power. I believe it was something like getting the ability to transform into the person, but they stay alive and unknowing. A proper absorption would get you a genome, which get you the powers. I could be wrong though, because I've never played that kind of ling.
  9. Holy shit. This sounds amazing! The job would pretty much be the most fun job on the station if implemented.
  10. Sounds very... interesting. I can see security going apeshit and raiding all other nations early on though.
  11. So I recently bought myself the karma job Customs Officer. While it was quite fun pissing off people fresh off the shuttle, there are a few things that would make the job more functional. Firstly, the officer can lock the doors, but has no way to close them barring getting out of the office and shutting them himself. He might need a few more buttons. When dealing with large groups of people, the group either has to wait for everyone to be checked out, or the door gets opened and the lot of them run through without being checked. I'm not sure how to remedy this. The officer also needs some cuffs in his office! He doesn't have access to the brig, so right now he either has to ask another sec officer to get some for him, or make cable restraints. There should be something to actually check out ID details, like adding a med records program to the Nanotrasen OS. A printer in the office would be nice, for when you want to make mass copies of some long and annoying-ass paper for people to sign on their way in. A folder for said papers would be nice as well. I believe the maintenance access to the right of the room is sec-access instead of just customs officer, so that should be fixed. I also believe there is a way around customs through maintenance. That should also be dealt with. Or at least make a less obvious way around. Perhaps they should get job based objectives, like confiscating items being smuggled from Clown Planet, or any other places the Gateway will eventually go. And thats the extent of what I can offer for suggestions. I believe I heard the admins were eventually going to add traitor objectives to smuggle things on station, so that will make this job much more fun.
  12. This actually sounds amazing. I'd love to see this implemented.
