  1. The guide is missing information on fingerprints, scanning for evidence, evidence bags, comparing evidence, and basically the entire section about the analyzer. Also, you could go a little into autopsy reports, though it should be a MD performing these, and not yourself (even if the autopsy scanner and tools are in the morgue).
  2. As an advocate of the current space law, I would not like a change. The current space law allows for meaningful IC punishment for people being detrimental to the gamemode, and allows antagonists to serve a penalising time in security for a minor crime by "playing" space law. If you go this route, it's not even worth brigging for most crimes, because processing takes up so long you'd need more security officers, for less punishment, and less result, making security even less efficient than it already is, whilst encouraging non gamemode crime which will contribute towards breaking rules (not playing the role you've chosen, self-antagging). Please stick with the current system.
  3. I have no problem with the notification that you've tabbed, but the loss of map focus upon activating hotkey mode is very frustrating. Edit: I have found the cause and fixed it. This was definitely not intentional. PR going up right now.
  4. No, it hasn't. You can only access verbs, which fits fine for something like looc which is always there for you to use. Click the ss13 icon in the top left, options & messages, client dropdown, macros, new macro... assign a key (whatever you want, in your case maybe f9) command is looc id not required press ok and apply onto current game
  5. Depends on your preference, I personally use hotkey mode and my left hand is over wasd, i can reach shift and f2 without having to move my left hand. Do you know you can configure the hotkeys yourself through the client?
  6. So I double checked the interface file, F9-F11 is free. However, wouldn't shift + F2 or ctrl + F2 make more sense than F9, F10 or F11? Seeming as ooc is on F2 already.
  7. f9-f12 are currently used for admin commands I believe, so they do have a current use just not for players.
  8. My belief about maintenance is that it should be specifically access only (engineering, paramedic, heads of departments) except in emergencies (radstorm, red alert, etc). However, I also believe firelocks should be only operable by engineers and heads of departments, through id swiping them.
  9. lmao, best definition ever. I prefer Pen & Paper, as that's roleplay, rather than just a game.
  10. Play a computer game, pick up a book, browse a wiki, play the tabletop, or play the (excellent) pen and paper rpg from fantasy flight games (which I've been doing for the last two years) 40k is full of references to characters from specific events, or items, or groups. So it's basically a lore fest for neckbeards, so it helps to have someone fluent in 40k lore to explain your missed references.
  11. Coming back after two months and seeing you posting the same things Wintermote I have to ask - why are you still here? There are other servers out there, perhaps you'd find what you want on one of those?
  12. I wasn't aware this was reverted, as I had removed knockdown from disarm (excluding handcuffed), unless you're implying a different source.
  13. inb4 the Captain job title should be renamed because the Cyberiad is a station, not a ship.
  14. The idea behind the xenos though is to capture people alive for breeding. Arguably only Praetorians should be lethally minded. I'd love to see a change where being on help intent as a xeno will stop you causing fatal damage, but enough to crit/ko them, so you can drag them to a nest for breeding.
  15. I guess it was removed to limit ghetto surgery?
  16. That's my personal opinion, I had no say in the changes to the clothing supply, so it's not a reason for it being removed. Just to clear that up
  17. I find the worst one is dragging something through a maintenance corridor which is only one cell wide, and you need to turn around but can't get the item around the corner. I know when you're pulling, you should be able to click to move it to an adjacent tile, but it doesn't seem to work reliably, especially on corners.
  18. Exactly this. If you're tight on space it makes the most sense to use the baton instead of pepper spray / flash.
  19. I don't see why you're carrying flash and/or pepperspray over handcuffs. Masks counter peppersprays. Sunglasses or rig helmets counter flashes. Neither counters stun baton or taser. If you're metagame your inventory, then metagame your inventory properly. Leave the flash and pepperspray in the locker.
  20. I'm not saying it's going to happen, I just thought I'd share my opinion. I'm not taking away anything here...
  21. I prefer roleplay over "silliness", and that's my personal opinion, so yes. You don't agree with my opinion that's fine. My name is not humorous, it's actually named after the original citadel paint colour, and is not a reference for humor. Quite how you'd see it as such is beyond me. We don't get to choose our own perfect game, we just get to play the closest thing to it. We all make compromises in this way.
  22. Of course it's my opinion, that's why this is a poll. If I had my way, there'd be no costumes other than alternate but official clothing for all jobs, such as the nurse uniform in medical. This thread is about the vending machines that have gone, not any others.
  23. The clothing machines only served to support players who ignored their job and just wanted to play dress up / vigilante / slacker. I'm happy with them staying gone.
  24. IIrc in relation to this, the security pod's weapons (and buildable pod weaponry) are disabled, because the pods are currently indestructable. Weapons were disabled (but may now be broken instead) because there was a lot of grief/abuse regarding this.
