  1. How about adding an item/implant that could be used to add a camera to a crewmember. So that the AI and anyone near a camera console can see what the people wearing them are up to. They should be limited to security personell otherwise it would give the AI and security a too big advantage over the antags because everyone and their mother would just have a camera on them while in maint. They could work exactly like the cyborg cams work but i'm unsure how they work code-like and wether or not it is easy or hard to augment that.

The main goal of these bodycams in my opinion would be to serve sort of as tracking implants so that the HoS/warden/captain can easily see what's happening to their security force.

To make sure these items aren't OP as hell there needs to be a way to disable them both stealthy and non-stealthy, so sort of like the suit sensor toggle on jumpsuits this might also be toggled off by someone in close proximity, or they could be busted by EMP charges.

Please tell me what you think of this idea.

  2. I play journalist a lot and always do crime news. I'm always able to get great pictures by roleplaying my way into certain rooms and putting myself on the front line of crime fighting. I see no need for changing anything, other than other players' view of the newscaster channels and the work some people put into it.

I just found this monkey meeting in maintenance.

When i asked the person that was standing next to this ordeal what was going on he said, "It's sad how nobody is helping the wounded monkey in the middle and they're all just watching him die, isn't it?"

Here we see how fast someone can change.

This VIP lounge was build for the commanders and VIPs to safely enter the shuttle without a hassle. At the doors of this gathered quite a crowd, the security officer seen on the screenshot was one of them. He screamed that we were all equal and that this was a hatecrime and such, i let him in because he angered the crowd around him. The moment he entered, he screamed "That's enough folks we've reached the limit in here" and i closed the door behind him. He then started to talk to the crowd saying how he was priviliged to be with the VIPs and that he was better than they were for it.

Isn't it great how quickly someone corrupts when they get more rights, wealth or status than the average person?

I think people should be able to name their characters whatever they want as long as it isn't some profanity [spoiler2]Did i write that correctly?[/spoiler2] so video game, fantasy and tv-show names are fine.

But i do think however that creating your own character is one of the best aspects of the game, i have a bartender character named Bart Ender for example and it's always funny to see how long it takes people to get the joke. So things like that are awesome, but i see no problem in using the name of fictional characters.

  6. Hey awesome story again, and i was actually the captain on the shift where the HoS shot at you, yeah he was a wacky guy. I even saw him pull his laser gun on you and said "If you shoot with lethals once you'll be demoted" After wich he began shooting you. Yeah keep making these they're awesome.

  7.

Love the story, and since i play a lot of rep myself i'dd love to see what else you'll encounter in your SoP filled adventures.

And i just want to say that i once got ALL of command demoted and was put in charge of EVERYTHING as the NT rep, yeah beat that. Actually, don't beat that, command was actually horrible and i'm guessing many people had bad experienced due to them. Luckily i was there the save the day as always!

This is a story of a succesfull Xenomorph invasion...

    Chapter 1: Crazyness overload

Once upon a time there was a science station called the NSS Cyberiad. It was the most fucked up place in the known universe, with the AI ( Being played by me ) made announcements like these often and they were all 100% True.

    A.I. Announcement

CE set himself on fire, HoS is killing civilians, mime is stabbing dead bodies and xenobiology is releasing xenomorphs around the station.

Welcome to cyberiad, please come again.

    -H.U.N.K.

So most of these xenomorphs tought being passive was fine, untill one found himself to be the little xeno queen that could and made themselves an nice little nest in virology. Soon after this a monkey was impregnated and some hunters were bred. The hunteres quickly got more people into the nest, one after another. The CE bravely said "I'm good at setting things on fire [spoiler2](see announcement)[/spoiler2], so i'll just set the whole of virology on fire" Just after the brave CE added a canister of highly flamable gasses to the virology air circulation a small electric lifeform called A.M.A. tought himself robust enough to just go in there and flamethrower them all, he did this by cutting some walls away and the CE's plan had to be scrapped for the safety of the crew and station. A.M.A. ofcourse got wrecked by all the xenos who were all gathering in virology instead of spreading like most xenomorph groups do.

    Chapter 2: Infections for all

Not long after the events mentioned prior the xenos spread over the medbay knowing they could out-robust most crew if they worked together. Dragging in one after another crewmember into their nest they grew their force exponentially and covered more terrain on the station with a speed only previously observed in Meth addicts. The not so competent security force was not able to handle this and the captain decided to call an ERT, only minutes after the ERT arrived most of them died and they were screaming for self destruct codes so no more harm could be done.

The following announcements followed eachother within the timespan of 15 minutes.

Current situation in virology, three fully grown xenomorphs and atleast three larvea.

Welcome to Cyberiad, please come again.

    -H.U.N.K.

Current known xeno infested places, Medbay, Virology, Surgery, medbay maintenance, Sciene maintance. I'dd crawl into my fallout bunker if i were you.

Welcome to cyberiad, please come again.

    -H.U.N.K.

Since it's easier to name the not infected places on the stations than the places where there are xenos, i will do just that. Current safe havens: mining station, tech storage, engineering outpost. yeah mostly those three.

Welcome to Cyberiad, please come again.

    -H.U.N.K.

At this point in the shift CC had authorised basicly all means to take care of the xenomorphs, the CE released the tesla with little to no effect and two shells of bluespace artillery were shot into the heart of the xenomorph nest. The crew was losing.....

    Chapter 3: Uriel the grey

It was at this point CC sent over their finest. They sent Uriel the grey, a special operations officer with a feared mech named seraph, to have a look at the station and soon after he arrived a Deathsquad was also sent to the station. A small part of the crew managed to escape to the mining outpost and cleared out most of cargo, all while the deathsquad was getting their asses kicked by xenomorphs around the central part of the station. Uriel was scouting the station for possible aproach tactics to the xenomorph nest when suddenly he hears this echoing trough the dark, empty and fouls smelling halls of the floating hunk of metal previously known as the NSS Cyberiad.

Nuclear fission device active and set to one minute from now, have a nice trip home crew.......

    Ai saying goodbye....

Goodbye Cyberiad, Please visit our remains....

    -H.U.N.K.

It is said that the nearest station to the cyberiad has heard the following coming from seemingly nowhere. "WHAT!?" was blasted trough the entire station as Uriel the grey screamed in dismay and ignorance. To this day scientists are trying to figure out how Uriel screamed so loudly it was heard the next station over, but that is a story for another day. Uriel had mostly ignored his deathsquad up to this point but was furious, scared and energized at the same time. Uriel hadn't ordered his deathsquad to fire up the nuke but they said to him "We were losing, it seemed like our only option". Uriel ran around the station in his mech looking for the nuke that his deathsquad had placed in the previously cleared cargo area. Once Uriel had located the nuclear device he ran over to it only to see the following on the device, "4 seconds remaining until detonation". Uriel then ignored all protocols and safety procedures surrounding the nuclear device and pulled out the nuclear authentication disk as fast as possible. The moment Uriel grabbed the nuclear authentication disk the nuclear fission device clicked over from 1 to 0 and fission had started to ensue inside the bomb. A faint cry was heard on the black box of the station before nuclear detonation only milliseconds later.

This was the story of uriel and the bomb.... The black box from this shift is still used today to teach the very non-existant death squad about tactics and to not overestimate the enemy.

And with that out of the way i'dd like to adress what i feel like is an issue, healing people and playing a doctor in general has become too easy. It might just be the fact that i've been playing doctor more than now than that i've played in in the past but i've seen people on other threads say the same thing. There's no more thrill in being a medical doctor, a tad competent chemist will have made all the chems you'll need the whole shift around the hour mark, with this out of the way it's just so easy to get everyone treated within moments of them coming in.

But what about people in critical condition?

Good thing you'dd ask, but you'll just throw them into cryo and with the all new auto-eject function you don't even have to be close the the things anymore and they can show themselves out. It's your one-chop shop for all extreme medical emergencies.

But isn't there a thrill in giving people just the correct amount of drugs?

Yeah i'm real scared of giving them too much, because it certainly isn't possible to get people that are addicted to things un-addicted with one simple machine....

Oh wait just pop 'em in a sleeper and it will automatically get rid of that nasty addiction without any interference from you.

But surgery is where you really get the experience the thrill of medical! Who would even be stupid enough to select regular doctor anymore?

Well the thing is, person, you're completely right. Surgery is cool and the system we are currently using is an awesome for everything except for autopsies and that is the reason you mostly see a surgeon to MD ratio of 4:1 and all those surgeons will just dick around in the medbay all shift because except for extreme cases like a xeno invasion, they'll have nothing to do at all.

Then why don't you play more exotic medical jobs like Virology or Psychiatrist?

Again, these are only actually used in extremely rare cases and i particularly dislike the changes in the virology system where if you're sick you should just drink some orange juice, soda or eat some table salt. I'dd prefer to go back to the old system where every disease needs a special cure, but i haven't played a lot of virologist after the chance happened so i might be completely wrong on how the current system works. But being the stubborn human that i am i'll always prefer the old over the new untill the new has proven better.

But how would you go about fixing all this?

To be honest... i have no idea. The current chemistry system works great for science and to be honest is an awesome system. And we don't want people to be stuck in the medbay for hours because they stubbed their toe, but there has to be a golden middle path.

I'dd love to hear all your opinions about this and maybe possible ways to fix it, because i feel like we've got a problem but there is no real solution without compromises.

In the few rounds i've played since the re-listing i've not experienced any negative effects at all on the server, and yes i was there when this guy was banned but that's what made this listing so good, due to the new recruitments there always seem to be admins online to deal with problems like that. Let's put it this way, lets say you have a room with one window every once in a while the air coming from outside smells of shit but mostly it brings fresh air into the room. The room is Paradise and the window has been closed for far too long and it began to stink in here [spoiler2](Sorry regular players, you're still all awesome)[/spoiler2] so the new faces and stories they have to tell are a nice fresh breeze of air on Paradise.

The fact that the "new" players have less experience has both pros and cons.

Con- you have to teach them the correct ways

Pro- YOU get to teach them the correct ways

Other than that all new guys seem to get adjusted to our way of playing quite fast and it's a nice sight to see that on the low hours we still have 40+ people online while it used to be in the range of 15-25.

All with all, relisting is a great idea.

  11. i'm in favour of making organ transplants the way to go for heavy infection stuff. it will add a bit of depth to search for an organ donor or ofcourse you could just get the organ from the shifty looking coronor who always seems to have some to spare... weird....

  12.

I'm loving the idea of an economy and i have supported all previous attempts at doing this as well, but it seems this time you've really got it figured out.

I really like the persistence element with the OOC account slowly building up, but i'm not too sure about the whole trader thing that could/should maybe just be a random event that could happen just like mice or electrical overloads so some people don't just observe from the start or commit suicide instantly to become a trader. So i'dd say make this trader idea either an event or karma locked role that people can pick from round start.

All other elements of your suggestion are great and i'dd love to see a system like this on our server.

My own suggestions to add to this

It seems that the station has barely any ways to MAKE money, as far as i've seen only cargo sending things back to CC and CC giving more money to the station. I'dd like to suggest to add more ways to make money, like a bonus for the station when RnD is completed. We are the nanotrasen science station cyberiad after all. Or security sending confirmed traitors to CC instead of executing them [spoiler2]Spoiler alert: They will be executed when arriving at CC[/spoiler2] to recieve a sum of money for the station.

Make an easy way to transfer money to another crewmember via PDA, this could be needed for when Richman McCaptain walks trough his station only to see all the greyshirts begging for money and he starts to feel a bit guilty for Beggar Greyshirt The Third.

A marketplace in the room that is currently the station garden. As far as i've seen i've never seen ANYONE use the station garden apart from disassembling the machines there for easy resources, so i suggest we make this into a marketplace where civilians can set up shop to make some extra money from selling all those toolboxes they've stolen. Kind of like the vacant office, but different in some way, if you catch my drift.
