  1. Hello and thank you for the complaint, I must admit that I did not see it coming.

I am sorry that you feel that this was personally aimed at you which I can assure you it was not. This was sent out to everyone just shortly after the shift began(I must admit, I should have done it while game was being set up).

As for the conversation I perceived your messages as said in a jokingly manner to which I replied accordingly. However I fail to see how you could be offended by me saying “just ignore it.”

as for misusing my powers to make me be above everyone else, I fail to see the point as this didn’t provide me with any sort of advantage at all. It was also made clear by my fellow admins that this was just a joke in OOC, along with a lot of other players. Out of the 100 players online it seems to be that you were the only one who failed to realise that this was a meme.

This global narrate thing has also been done in the past multiple times.

if you feel personally harassed, my bad.. Id also like say sorry to @Spartan, @Spacemanspark and @Normalyman to which I made it hard for them to do their admin business.

  2. Hello and thank you for the complaint.

While I won't be handling the complaint I'd like to address a few things.

I didn't get the feeling that anyone felt offended over the incident, actually more like the other way around. If someone was indeed offended over this all they should've done was to let me know and I would've taken it down right away and provided them with an apology. As this didn't happen, and as people kept respawning in to take part in the "camp" I proceeded. Looking at the logs I see even you decided to join in.

After the round was over I proceeded to discord and posted this message.

In regards to the history aspect I'd just like to say that It completely slipped by mind that it was liberation day (5), and that this "event" wasn't done in relation to the nazi aspect.

  3. Map change: A holding room, where prisoners can be held, that is easily connectable to the processing area. This is intended for security officers to throw crewmembers into, while they wait for processing and thus should be secured with reinforced glass and walls.

Map change: A security record computer in processing.

SOP: Up the time security is allowed to hold a prisoner without brigging them.

  4. Hello and thank you for the complaint. I will not be handling it, but I will explain my actions briefly.

First of all I was contacted by a fellow administrator PurpleGenie, who informed me that he was occupied and involved IC'ly in the above stated affairs, and if I had time to handle it too which I replied yes. At the time I was playing as a Security Officer and occupied in the round myself, but was able to aghost out of my character for the duration of the conversation. Myself and PurpleGenie were the administrators online at the time.

I bwoinked you asking for you to explain your actions, where your replies indicated that you weren't aware what you were doing was wrong. The station at the time was dealing with traitors and syndicates and was in no state to deal with 10 clowns / mimes. As you've said yourself you replied with "Where is that forbidden" which to means, that you haven't read our rules thoroughly enough. Normally players with high amount of hours are the players who are most aware of our rules(as expected) because they have played so many shifts and a majority of them know well enough, that opening such a high amount of clown slots will lead to a jobban / termination.

The reason for your jobban was a violation of rule #5. "Choosing a Head of Staff role (such as Chief Medical Officer) means you will be expected to play to a higher standard of roleplay, seriousness and competence. You may be Jobbaned from Command if you fail to meet these standards, or if you ignore your duties;"

Which means we expect command staff to play their character serious and with competence, which you were doing great until that point. My guess is that you eventually got bored and decided to "meme" a bit. (This is my own interpretation and I may be very wrong) however, this doesn't have any influence in this ban whatsover.

Looking back this could've been solved IC'ly with a Central Command announcement terminating your employment, however due to being one of the two administrators online, and occupied with other things I concluded that a ban was a better punishment.

    regards.

  5. Disclaimer: This is a list of events that I intend to run in the near future or I have run. Each event will be listed with a default template making it easier for admins to use these events as ideas in the future. The list may contain events  I have come up with but will also contain events run by other admins on our server, other servers or events that are already in the suggestion forum which I have deemed good enough to put here. You are also free to suggest events via. discord, in game or just a post below. Disclaimer end.

I will provide download links to map templates, post screenshots etc. as they become available.

    Template:

    • Event name:
    • Summary of event:
    • Attached file(s)

    __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Inspection Day:

NanoTrasen sends X amount of inspectors to inspect the station. They will report back to Central Command on their findings and depending on the report certain measures may be taken. This can be termination of funds or termination of employments. Additionally to spice this up, throw in traitors to sabotage the inspection, or traitor the captain with the objective to make sure the inspection fails!

    Training Day:

Central Command are hiring cadets for Special Operation Officers. Volounteers from NSS Cyberaid are brought in via. the ferry to the testing outpost(custom template see below) here they will conduct training sessions(shooting range, boxing, team building area, interogation techniques etc.) after failing or passing they are send back to the station with objectives to kidnap, steal or set up a fake murder etc. You can have the base function be run by the syndicate as well.

    Files:

    Transport Shuttle(Prisoners/Xenomorphs/Biological Weapons etc.):

This is a general event that can be run in many ways. A shuttle docks to the Cyberaid(with or without their acceptance) on the shuttle can be anything from xenomorphs, biological weapons or prisoners. Cyberaid must then complete objectives given by the contents on the shuttle or face consequences. The shuttle can be a loose unorigined shuttle that contains xenomorphs which escapes upon opening the airlocks. It can also contain prisoners that NSS Cyberaid will have to protect, and other traitors will be assigned to conduct a jail break. Additionally the shuttle could also contain biological hazards such as beakers filled with blood/diseases that the crew has to protect and traitors can be assigned to make sure a virus is spread etc. It's up to the admin.¨

    Files:

    • MAP FILE:

    Devil's visit:

A unknown man appears on the station who set's up in one of the most public areas of the station. Here he will host and compete in games with crew members with dares such as, organs, hands or your life. If you win a game you can also be rewarded. Basicly, sit down make an request and the devil will state the offer. Then win or loose!

    Stanford Prison Experiment:

Have the admin testing area designed into a prison. Then transport(or spawn) volounteers from NSS Cyberaid. Have a certain amount of security guards and a certain amount of prisoners. They must know work with each other as per the real experiment. The prisoners must be told when to eat, shower, go to their cells etc. The security guards will be informed of a set of rules but will be free to act how they pleases.

    Files:

    • MAP FILE:

    NT Loyalists:

NSS Cyberaid is sold to the Syndicate and everyone are now traitors. However there will be X amount of players who are not willing to work for the syndicate and are classified as loyalists. These loyalists must identify each other and find a way to contact Central Command. From there Central Command can choose to stage a rescue mission or use these loyalists as assets to conduct sabotage or be spies.

    Cyborgification:

NanoTrasen's budget is running tight. A Central Command official arrives to brief the Command Department and Command begins enacting out these orders. At first, the cyborgification is of own free will, afterwards it's everyone but command and lastly everyone must be turned into a cyborg. As this can be quite resource intensive consider sending extra mechanical engineers from Central Command and/or provide extra materials for more cyborgs. To counter this there will be crewmembers(traitors) who are prevent themselves from being turned into cyborgs.

    Mafia Exchange:

Two sets of syndicate teams are going to set up an exchange of items(documents, weapons, items etc.) at a given time on the station. However all they know is the location and the time but not the other team. To spice this up there will be a third team tasked with interfering with this meeting and with an objective to steal both sets of items. In the meantime Security(NSS Cyberaid) will be faxed/informed of such a meeting going down on their station within a time frame but not where.

    Firing Range:

The crew will be able to take a ferry to the admin testing area, which has been transformed into a firing range. The range has been staffed with a few players who are responsible for handing out arms and making sure no one are bringing weapons back to the station. Players will be able to shot all the guns the admins decide to spawn for them. This event does take time to set up so it's best done by pre-designing this and spawning it via the template tools. Additionally you can also have station security staff instead of players. You can also decide to run this event during traitor so traitors can go and attempt to bring weapons back on the station.

    Files:

    • MAP FILE:

    The Maze:(maze runner)

An unknown signal is pinging from inside a secret area(maze). After going trough the gateway, players will be taken to a teleporter which leads to the admin testing area. This is a one way access and players should be informed of this prior to going. When they take the teleporter they will arrive at the access point to the maze. To beat the maze they will have to find tools hidden behind hidden walls and behind airlocks which they will need to hack open. Eventually they will have all the requirements(perhaps some plasma to power the exit teleporter or a curcuit) so they can exit the maze. However during their campaign there will be things hunting the players. This can be anything from mechs, a tunnel clown or some creepy giant creature.(maybe a dragon)

    Files:

    • MAP FILE:

    Capture the flag:(Station War)

Start off by blocking off the arrivals shuttle with unsimulated walls. Have two teleporters in the shuttle leading to each side of the station. Then have a conveyer belt force players trough the spawner machines which will first strip them and then equip them with a an outfit. In this case you would have one teleporter leading to spawner machines equipping as SolGov Marines and Pirates(f.x) Each team will then have to fight their way to the enemy teams base(where the spawner is located) and steal the flag. Make sure to enable respawn so we can have a good old capture the flag. Spice the round up with mechs, extra weapons etc. Just make sure not to break the geneva convention.

  6. (Please ignore the code issues on the pictures they will/are already solved)

    The Idea.

My end goal is to add a new method of punishment which securiy officers can use when dealing with criminals who may have comitted a minor crime and thus not really worth dragging them to the brig for 5 minutes. As well as adding a new tool that can be used for roleplay purposes between perpetrator and offficer. Often as a security officer when the tide is high or there's just so much going on that it is not effecient for you or the perpetrator that you drag their ass to the gulag. This project is a tool which will allow users to punish these criminals without brigging them? How

    By giving them a fine.

    How does it work?

The tool itself is a handheld ticketing platform which can be carried in your pocket or in your backpack. Opon activation security officers can either choose to issue a new ticket or view existing ones.

    e6e743668e316e626251c1edc671c2f8.png

In order to prevent the good old fashioned stun, cuff and drag security officers will need to interact with the suspect as they have to swipe the suspects ID in order to load their details into the device. Security Officers can then select the violation from a pre-existing list which will display the reason, description of the article violated and the ticket amount. Officers will after selecting the reason be prompted to input an amount between a maximum amount and a minimum amount allowing for some variation in the ticket itself.

After everything is filled out, they can then hit "Issue Ticket" which will print a ticket at the mobile ticketing platform. Deduct money from the registered account and transfer it to the station account(will be changed to securiy department account) and also add the ticket to the list of issued tickets.

This list can be viewed on the terminal itself or by hitting the "Browse" Issued Tickets on the security record computer.

So let me hear your toughts and ideas. Is this something that should be aborted? Or should I continue working on it? Do you have any ideas features to add to it etc.

    Questions I need answered.

First of all there are still a few things I would like to discuss.

    • Should there be a refund option on the security record computer?
    • Is this worth it?
    • What should the fine amounts be?(currently you can only ticket for minor crimes)
    • Should it be able to deduct money from people who doesn't have any?
    • New sprite?

  7. Yes without a doubt this is going to be a nerf to traitors however remember that security will also recieve a nerf at the same time. I think if this is to be added there are a few things I'd like to propose that would solve some of the problems already mentioned.

    That is:

    • Have rollerbeds move faster.
    • Allow empty crates to be moved faster, and full crates slower.
    • Same for lockers.
    • Add a type of crate mover. (e.g. engi cart)

Most importantly, I would like to see that people who are standing up(not resting) will be dragged faster than people who are resting/incapitated. This will be very interesting to see how it will affect antags and security especially.

  8. 18 hours ago, Romana T. Colgate said:

You know what I think was something that occurs ( not so often anymore, used to ) but wasn't brought up?  Suicidal greytide, going into medical and constantly harming themselves in an attempt to bait medical to waste a lot of time, energy, and resources in healing and containing them, screaming about their right to die, and being generally shitty.  Usually the solution was to buckle them to a bed in a straightjacket until they either stopped being shit, SSD'd because they got bored, or suicided proper.

I can't imagine the straightjacket PR will have terribly much to do with it, but I'm curious if it will bite me in the ass one day when I lack a proper way to restrain a paitent.

This is stuff I'd like to crack down on. Please a-help next time.

  9. I have been attempting to crack down on LOW RP elements. But for me those things may be different from you. I'd like to hear some input on what you would like admins to crack down on more.

Examples of what I have been hammering, is the spam of items (looking at you hydroponics), the stabbing yourself with a glass shard in a prison cell and self murdering out of context, hitting random people with items(crowbars, toolboxes etc.) and the random screaming over the radio.

  10. One of my favorite things as an admin is when people take contact and asks us to do things.

Anything from mentioned above to proposing ideas for custom events. Full round, mid or small events. We are creative(some of us) and sometime we just need a small idea to come up with something.

  11. Introduction:

In an effort to allow for more management of the station resources amd for opening up for the possibility of increasing power usage / generation aswell as introducing new strategic methods for traitors to use in completing their goals, I would like to gain some oponions and suggestion before beginning on this project.

The project is an inspiration and idea from Twinmold that he is using on his new station which I feel we should expand onto our station design. And would not be too difficult.

    The suggestion:

The project is to add small power control rooms about 6 tiles in total in each of the major departments. Science, Security, Medbay, Enngineering and bridge. (for now)

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQgm-Y42szsVeRN3lX1xph

Power from the engine and solars will feed into the main loop around the station. This loop would also run into the more public areas such as dorms, tool storage, arrivals and all public areas in general.

The current wiring in the departments mentioned above will be isolated and directed into the power control room. Control rooms will contain an SMES/APC which will have 1 wire (or 2) connecting from the main power wire. This will make it possible to shut off power to that department or control the flow of power.

Access to these rooms will be restricted and they will be placed along maintanence allowing for sneaky sneaky traitor buisness.

    Building the project:

At the moment there are two ways to achieve this project.

First of all the map edits have to be done no matter what, making space and adding these control rooms.

Secondly, restricting power access to departments based on the current wire layout is the matter of editing a few tiles here and there and then rewiring it to the control rooms. This method would be quite undifficult.

However it can also be done by completely remowing all wires, running a new wire loop around the station. This will allow us to either choose to have it run along hallways or perhaps maintanence. In the end rewiring everything, which will take longer.

Suggestions and toughts please.  Should we merge some more public areas to run on the same power lines. Eg. Botany, kitchen and bar. Or what will work and what will not?

  12. So I have said this before, but in my opinion there are many things we can do, but before be are able to do these things we need to lay the foundation for expanding and further developing our server.

The foundation I am refering to here is map expansions. At the moment we have introduced the auto listing system which is forcing us to have lower player numbers. The reasons for this system was that we have too many players for what we have to offer. AFAIK.

Several people are working on multiple map projects which will open up for bigger stations, more jobs and more diversity in our gameplay. Among these I would like to mention, Metastation, Ragnarok and rumors are Deltastation. I think this is very healthy for us and the best solution in regards for getting us on the right track.

Now the issue I have is that, there does not seem to be an official policy in regards to this. What is the community stance on this?

Will we choose to keep our station as the only one. Will we introduce other stations once they are done, or will these contributers waste their time.

What are we going to do once these maps are finished? Should we consider this an official solution to help solve our problems. What is the plan in regards to map expansions?

  13. Aid @Twinmold, finish his station.

    Finish Metastation.

Port map change system(depending on player numbers)

    New jobs

    More Security

Increase brig times by 5 minutes pr. Standard

Minor map edits, add more trashed areas like old bar or old cafe for people to work with

  14. It is of my belief that you/we should focus on finishing monsters RNG maintenance code as it will as you say in the end provide bigger and more diverse maintenance areas than the other method you have designed.

This does not mean scrap the first method however the impact of it will be more of the same as the other mentioned RNGs lightsabers e.g. minorly spread around here and there, while monsters will have a bigger impact.

What I am trying to say is that in the end I suggest you/we(other contributers) designate specific not too big rooms in the maintenance and allow these rooms to be randomized while we keep the connecting maintenance as it is. Polish/finish monsters code and apply it to these designated rooms.

This will be a good starting compromise as it will be significantly easier to come up with many small rooms to pool from than pooling from entire new overhauls. It will also allow us to see how the code plays out and it will reduce the amount of work to get a phase 1 PR merged.

All in all, this is a good project.

  15. I do not have an opinion on this revert because of the fact that I never got to try it out. However with that said Norgads PR was merged in the end after long discussions. Now in this case it has been decided to revert because of reasons mentioned.

The point is it never hurt anyone merging this and trying it out. Does not work, revert. Works? Keep it.

I would like to see this method expanded onto other more controversial PRs

  16. The point of this suggestion is to implement more job titles. This will be a tool for players to come up with new characters and to allow for more diversity in our typical shifts. This could be anything from Civilians being able to designate themselves as actors, musicians or clerks. Or an Engineer whose job title is Exterior Engineer (or something) like that, whose job will be to conduct space repairs etc. But while still being a standard Engineer, which is the point. This is only going to serve as a tool for people to decide on how they wanna use this, do they wanna pretend they don’t know anything about wiring or do they not. Up to them.

Now the major focus of this suggestion are the civilians and assistants because they are the ones who would benefit the most from being able to modify their job title. As we will not run into them refusing to chase the criminal, because they set their title to Corrections officer. And while this is very easy tool is just a small attempt to aid our situation.

    CIVS:

    Clerk

    Artist

    Musician

    Actor

    Dorms Remap(Closed PR reopen it)

    Courier/Delivery boy

    Teacher

    Activities Director

    Stripper

    Wrestler/Boxer

    Comedian/Entertainer

    Head of service

    Entertainer

    Builder

    Contractor

    Designer

    Fashion Designer

    MISC:

    Barista

    Bouncer

    Journalist/freelancer

    Regional Director

    Priest/nun

There are still room for more suggestions and any comments to narrow down the field, aswell as what their default loadout should consist off
