  1. I dont do in depth searches (like PDA and all) on random searches. Only people in processing who have evidence that would likely result in them being permad or otherwise anyways
  2. I check PDAs I also check for sleepy pens I even check the notes section of the PDA. I got someone with it once too they put their objectives in there for some reason
  3. Taking damage waking you up seems fine to me (anesthetic/chem or crit induced sleep excluded obviously)
  4. In addition to the whole load of other disadvantages, the vast majority of species just die while vent crawling due to the pressure being too high (distro) or too low (waste) making this item pratcially useless to almost everyone except vox and even if you're a vox you can only use the waste and the waste pipe net is segmented (for some reason) and a nightmare to navigate due to what seems to me to be an issue with pipe vision although I can't really confirm this as I haven't gotten a good chance to test it out. Pretty much all other forms of vent crawling in this game survive in at least the standard distro system (and I know distro was not modified because I was an atmos tech.) Even mice can vent crawl in distro just fine but someone with contortionist suit dies to pressure for some reason. It's inconsistent and it makes an already clunky item nearly unusable. Edit: Its usable for dinoa too but the point still stands. Plasmaman probably literally cant use it since they have to take their suit off
  5. How about simplify dethrall surgery to scalpel > hemostat > Retractor > Light > Cautery Or even simpler Scalpel > Light > Cautery The biggest problem is that dethralling is so tedious while thralling is super easy. Just make dethralling less tedious.
  6. Yeah making carp not work for vampire's seems fine but all of these complaints about having it nerfed seem unwarranted to me as pretty much every suggested nerf would do pretty much the same thing that happened to the missionary staff, it will go from a good item to something you only used because it came in your crate. Maybe nerf some of the other stuff but the ranged immunity is why you buy carp scroll, not the melee combos or melee damage. Without ranged immunity all that stuff is pretty much just worse than desword except for the really good grabs.
  7. On the clothes I think it could be shortened to TSF for short and be revealed as Trans-Solar Federation on examine (for those that don't know) for the sake of length of the clothing names.
  8. Its not that indifferent from slaughter, slaughter demons are practically invulnverable. and kill almost anyone
  9. I don't really see the problem with ascension, it's like saying cult summoning their god which just kills every who gets near it isn't fun. The slings have already won and the round is going to be over in roughly 5 minutes anyways
  10. Literally any department can make it self completely self sufficient by getting some tools and a few machines (almost no scientists ever denies requests that aren't completely ridiculous) and sec is the only exception to that because no sec officers have time to do all the preparation required. It's not that uncommon that you see private RnDs built in engineering, and that's something cargo could do even easier than engineering if anyone there was bothered enough to pester science. The Technician gives sec an equal chance for the brig to have self sufficiency as the other departments currently have and that self sufficiency isn't something leaving the other departments any time soon. To leave sec as the least self sufficient department when they're the most important department doesn't make any sense
  11. Combat is already stun based as it is, any stun you get off that leaves you long enough to get a neck grab you are dead anyways.
  12. Turning pod pilot into an engineer isn't really what I had in mind and I think a lot of pod pilot players play pod pilot to be an officer with emphasis on space stuff. Changing them into an engineer would turn off many players who like the way the role currently is, myself included
  13. When I thought of this Idea in my head I thought you could also tie in some of the other suggestions that people suggest for new security roles but always get shot down because there is not enough for them to do. Like someone suggested in the security a thread a person who's job is to go out and get more stuff for security (from cargo or science). Maybe this roll can tie into that as well. The brig technician could go order a bunch of AeGs or worth the brig phys to have a bunch of implants delivered to sec to be put in officers. I think it would be a positive thing to move that stuff out of the warden's jurisdiction because I think a lack of leadership makes sec stressful to play. If we were to phase this kind of thing out of the Warden's duties instead and give the warden more emphasis on dispatching / keeping track of everything that's happening and letting the Head of Security know whats important and helping give the HoS who can have a hard time leading on his own a helping hand could improve leadership in security Also another reason I liked this idea was that often times people like to do projects to build and expand new stuff in their departments, but security isn't one that can really do that and this would make it to where it is. They could build high security airlocks, reinforce the armory from space and make it harder to raid. Build various machines that would make sec's life easier. Help expand the operations of brigbay. More competent technicians could possibly end up with brig bay being a mini med bay, with cloning and chemistry and all. None of this stuff is stuff that players can't do. It's just stuff no one has time for since currently security has their hands tied doing other things most of the time and don't have the time to commit and finish projects like these. Sometimes an over achieving brig phys might accomplish this type of thing, but that is very rare and I thought pretty much every other department gets upgrades throughout the shift, so why not make sec consistently get upgrades too. The brig tech would make that consistency. They would bring in new stuff from science, make sure brig bay is up to snuff, build new machines that would assist sec, they could reinforce areas of the brig should it be deemed necessarily, and they would be taking burden away from the warden allowing him to spend more time doing things more important
  14. Kind of like brig physician but a mind shielded engineer who's job is to maintain and improve security. Same karma cost as brig phys
  15. Right now an alien literally cant devour you if you macro resist because you can spam it while you're on the floor and the hunter will grab you to devour you and your grasp will just be broken and you wont be able to devour them. Grabs also might have some combat application besides throwing people and grabs that start upgraded if this were the case too.
  16. More the most part this change would be a nerf to a department that really does not need a nerf, security
  17. Don't know if I like this. Seems like it would just get annoying and most players would see through it. It would also breed more distrust over comms and I dont think thats a good thing. The sec thing also seems annoying. 4 civs in the bar and one of them is disguised, better tase everyone and search them becaues its code red and I can do that.
  18. I was looking around to try and find this damage weakness but I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist. I see no such damage modifiers in https://github.com/ParadiseSS13/Paradise/blob/master/code/modules/mob/living/carbon/human/species/plasmaman.dm Also I think if a non plasma man tries to put a plasma man suit on they just get "your species cannot wear this." If this is not the case, this should be made the case then the suits made printable in R&D. Also the delay on setting on fire sounds good.
  19. How about that vox leap Eldritch Sigma's slime changes and grey changes are cool too
  20. Yes please. Replace current code Red with a Code Amber and make a more serious code red that actually impacts the round in some way but make it only temporary.
  21. He wants to make it where if a Borg disables their camera (blinding themselves) they are immune to flashes as long as it stays disabled
  22. Definitely needs to be according to danger for sake of balance.Wicker Doll is a perfect example. 14 TC that hardly gets anything done and gets you thrown in perma.
  23. One time a miner gave me a wicker doll as a chaplain (non-antag) and I just used it to play with people and make them say stuff to convince them my god was real. I even managed to convince some dude who talked (typed?) with a weird accent. He ended up going to some dinoa that came from botany with a shield and a spear and challenging him to dual and saying "crabby is my armor" (my god was crab'sie) and because of that I used the wicker doll to help him. Just a bit of a story on how it can be harmless even when linked and its definately not a good tator item. Any chaplain who buys this is either doing a very weird gimmic, memeing, or has no clue how bad of an item it is.
