  1. Perhaps reducing the stun time to that of a stun prod or leg sweep?
  2. If Tazers get nerfed. Sec players will turn to more extreme measures to avoid being knocked out of the round.
  3. I think the auto-aim balances things quite nicely. As someone who's played on servers where Security is basically vindicated for even trying to have a little sense of self preservation or duty. I've experienced tazers that are stupidly weak, and take almost an entire charge to down people who are usually armed or have the intent to drop you on the floor and kill you. It would usually mean after every chase, you had to go back to Sec for a recharge which was a major ball ache given the size of the station and the amount of ungrateful crewmembers screaming 'HALP' without disclosing their situation. With Paradise and it's lack of respawning, Security are doubly at risk because they don't have the 'muh arpee' protection you might find on servers with super weak tazers. So you could easily find yourself in a narrow tunnel with antag who's toting a flamer and a stunprod. Your flash is shit and you need to take him down before you're a husked corpse in space? The tazer works for that. I mean, if we get the tazer nerfed then a lot of things will need to be nerfed to balance things out. Or change Security's SoP to allow them to hit harder without getting into trouble.
  4. Damn you guys were SSTRP players? What were your names so I can see if you've died under my command or not.
  5. I guess that's fair, might get a bit out of hand otherwise.
  6. Being an expensive role with the responsibility of keeping Condoms alive. I think it would be worth it for them to have their martial arts to perform. It'd be handy for them to restrain or tackle any greytider that decides to lunge at the Captain. I mean perhaps this is making things too easy for the Blueshield, but you know, he's got to be scary to some degree.
  7. 2000 isn't really that much cash seeing as a bar of chocolate is twenty credits. We'd need to make a fake exchange rate between IRL cash and in game cash to get an idea of what makes sense when it comes to the cost living. I believe Aurora has something we can pluck from their wiki for that. I mean, the lower class having 200 credits? That's 20 candy bars, and that's kind of madness in regards to it being their work place. If this was a city server, maybe it'd make sense.
  8. Secborgs aren't that powerful. They have no hands, they can be buckled to a chair or bed then beaten. You can shut them down with a flash, hell if you're a resourceful antag you can either convince someone to blow the borgs or emag them yourselves. There are a variety of ways to deal with a securiborg, to say they're overpowered wouldn't be correct. I would rather fight a Securiborg over say, a minerborg or a mediborg who have the ability to shred the fuck out of you.
  9. Natalia, the friend Rissa doesn't need or deserve.
  10. I kind of skimmed over the post, so pardon me. But I think it's in an awkward place on this server due to the fact that fun is a subjective thing, and that server is built around the idea of having fun. So with being mediumRP or whatever, finding the balance between a naked assistant dryhumping a beepsky and having two hours of chairRP seems pretty hard. My first server was BestRP, but it was kind of a shitshow most of the time. Security was awful (you guys are spoiled here, albeit the vicious valid hunts,) Medbay was deemed redbay as you'd get put into a cryotube without it being turned on and the Captain would have a quilt draped his head so he looked like a ghost. Seriously, I just ended up doing barfights and hospitalizing people so I could play the round without being harassed by balds. Eventually I got bored, the departments slowly got more dysfunctional with small pockets of people trying to roleplay. I then went to a server by the name of Aurora, played an Engineer on my first round there, and people actually acted like Engineers (for a while anyway) and it was pretty nice. I think I stuck with that server for a year or so before roleplay became too... choking. If you were Security, looking for an armed and dangerous individual in the tunnels? God forbid tazing them on sight, despite clearly seeing they have a gun and you being in a bottle neck. You'd get ahelped or bitched about for doing what you're character would do on instinct, rather than listen to a villainous monologue or whatever. The whole concept of telling a story became more of some people having the mindset of 'how does this benefit my roleplay' which was either whispering to eachother in the corner, or expecting a back and forth between antag and crew. I'm not shitting on those servers by any means, they're just different ways of running things and that I'm just not a fan. But goes back to my original point, it's very hard finding a balance between the two. Thankfully there are a good amount of people here, who care about their characters and do play out their roles. Sure you get some... questionable people now and then, while the greytide is real. As you've already said, the biggest hindrance to roleplay is the massive valid boners that some people get. People really like to win, but that's what they find fun. So to TLDR; embrace the chaos, get to know the other characters that roleplay and also! Use the mentortab for doing things. And when it comes to having to do multiple things at once so that station runs? Don't, hindering your own enjoyment for the sake of others is silly.
  11. I was the Warden Natalia. I put that note up after a domestic dispute with the HoS, who threw the weapons everywhere. No hard feels though.
  12. I would like some more roleplay involved into the game. I don't want to impact anyone's fun with super serious chairRP but I do find the greentext hunters and powerplayers to be somewhat detrimental to an otherwise interesting round.
  13. I'll say no, they're kind of two completely different things. Just give the Psychiatrist more authority. Perhaps a fleshed out psych wing with nurses or whatever. Nothing like an asylum to shake things up.
  14. It would be nice not to have Security gunning for x-ray vision at round start along with a fervent desire for green text. I mean the challenge is great and I do believe there should be a consequence to screw ups, but I feel Security should tone it down a bit.
