  1.

Maybe add other synthetics, aka AI and Cyborgs.

    Just a suggestion.

Also add clown as a race, cause those monsters are not human.

The survey is for crew personnel, AI and Cyborgs don't really fit in here.

I was thinking about adding Clownsexual, but decided against it. I might have to do this survey again at a later date.

  2.

I'll keep the survey up until I either hit 200 responses, which should be an adequate sampling, or until Thursday next week. Because of the way I organized the survey, it's going to be a little tricky to analyze the data, but I'll release the results here in the same thread.

The results so far are pretty interesting, but I don't think I have an accurate representation of Paradise station just yet. There's more attack helicopters than that.

Sounds like a genuine, honest to god alien. But, even with the advanced hearing ability, unless the silhouette has a name on hover or a text box when they talk, it's going to be hard to follow conversations.

Some jobs might be pretty damn hard for them too.

Why not take it a step further? Organ drive for NT, donate your ass to an assless child somewhere out in space.

Or, maybe the blood drive is just a front to test the crew for some kind of genetic instability, so they can kidnap them and bring them back to NT for genetic experiments? Bonus points if the organization doing the blood drive is some third-party medical organization.

  5. I like this idea, no communications already set up. I feel like people take the radio for granted, and removing radio communications would change up a round in interesting ways. RD and CE would have a reason to set up a new telecomms, people wouldn't wander maint so willy-nilly, and the more unused means of communication (PDA, requests consoles, newscasters) would see more use.

This is the easiest comparison point between Cogmap2 and Paradise Station: How bombing hallways effects them.

On Cogmap2, if I plant a bomb anywhere in any part of the main hallway, I break the loop and create all sorts of problems for people trying to get from one side to the next. Cogmap2 does has it's shortcuts and secret passages to avoid breaches, but if I were to bomb the major hallway in two places, I have effectively fractured the station. And I can place these bombs literally anywhere in the main hallway; not everyone has maint access, so going through maint isn't always an option, and depressurization on Goonstation is so much more punishing than Paradise Station.

Meanwhile, there is only one place on Paradise station that will cause that much trouble, and even then it's not that painful. The hallway between medbay, the bar, and the bridge, is the most used stretch of hallway on the station. If you hang around that hallway, you will eventually see everyone on the station at one point or another. Bombing that three-way intersection dramatically impairs traffic, cuts the station in half, and... isn't really all that much of a problem. Everyone has maint access, so everyone can bypass it. Cargo, the Bridge, Engineering, and Security all have shortcuts they can take to bypass the breach. At most, it's just a minor annoyance. Granted, on Paradise there aren't as many bombings, but shouldn't that mean bombs should have more impact?

    Just my two, unedited bits.

I'm not new to the server, but I am fairly new to the forums. I used to be a huge forum dweller, but after enough salt to season a couple billion eggs, I gave that up. Now, I think I've mellowed out, and I'm willing to get a little salt in exchange for contributing to the community.

I'm Faceplant-kun, I've played for maybe a year or so now. I usually play John J.J.H. Schmitz, a former drug activist turned to a slightly demented chemist, or Maya Stewart, that one warden/IAA/officer that hopefully got you out of jail while still following Space Law and SOP. I also sometimes play Derth Guri, but he's just usually a greytiding asshole.

I love the server, I sorta love the community, and I hope we can all get along juuuust fine.

  8. I like this, it would definitely be better than giving people 30 minutes in the brig. There's just no reason for me to send people to the gulag right now, unless they're causing too much trouble in the brig cells.
