I hope you don't consider the single meme PR I made in jest following the joke of patting vox on heads as some kind of proof that I would enourage disrupting a server. because I don't. I don't have the will nor want to organize brigading.

As owner of the not-to-be-named server I'd like to say some things too. Sorry for the late post, but I've heard of the thread only now.

Sarcasm is obviously very hard discern in a screenshot taken out of context, especially in text format. No-one took what I said seriously and later down the road I even recommended against disrupting or "boycotting" the server after someone who is not part of the Paradise community suggested that. The server also has members from a lot of different servers.

Again, if you want to be heard and have communication with the admins, it's best to speak to the admins - or make a forum post as has been done recently.
To this point on, only a single person is currently banned from the server. I don't like that you must specify that the person who was banned was an admin. He was not removed because he was on the staff team. He was kicked because he was largely inactive and did not get along with a lot of others members in the discord nor me. The ban came after he insulted me and the server in discord PMs.
I'll just have to say, I'm saddened whenever I hear the things that are being discussed in staff chat about members and the server itself. From what I've seen it's usually always started with a snipped screenshot being posted and then the arguments beginning. It's become a circle of people sharing information with each other from both platforms and it only breeds hostility. Most likely because it always ends in misunderstandings.
Honestly, as someone who has little time ever since he started university I never thougt I'd have to deal with matters like this. But, in the end, nothing is gonna change if screenshots ever only get sent to the parties who don't have control over the other's server, there's every only going to be fruitless arguments.

Henlo.
I took a full year break from common SS13 after I have burned out and having been on vacation and trips.
I am picking Paradise up a bit again.
Used to play Katiki, still do. Sometimes play my human Wolf Anderson and other for now skreekrit characters.

So I just only now realized that somehow all these images I posted were fucked ever since the forum update, so I re-uploaded them.
Maybe I'll pick up drawing again?
Anyway, images fixed.

I would like to see the idea of having Engineering produce what Science drafts, which basically means that science gains the technology levels and creates the blueprints needed for engineering to produce the actual items. This may result in 1. the science powercreep is (mostly) gone, 2. engineers have something to do out of emergencies that is not upgrading the station, 3. there's more inter-departmental relations going on.
EDIT 22NOV17: That's also just one suggestion out of many that could be implemented. So any other suggestions would also be welcomed.

Maybe as 4th symptom it turns you into vox before you die.
-
For my vox, this one would probably fit the best.
Then there would also be my human character I've kinda neglected recently.

Vox when told to calm down.

Once you figure out a way to remove all the powergamers from the server you can think about putting certain players at a disadvantage (for RP/Lore reasons whatsoever). Otherwise it won't work.

Name: Katiki
Age: 28 (biological)
Gender: Male
Race: Vox
Blood Type: AB-
General Occupational Role(s): Medical, Engineering, Science
Qualifications:
Medical: Master
Engineering: Expert
Science: Skilled
Command: Skilled
Employement Records: Katiki was presumably first born on the Arkship 'Sunheat Leviathan' and made to be a combination of Medical Doctor and Engineer which is usual for Vox Engineers with a specialization on Biotechnology. He was tasked with the challenge of maintaining the health of the Vox on the Arkship which underwent recent cybernetic augmentation. His quarters were reportedly cluttered with medical records of fellow Primalis and design blueprints for new cybernetics. He was unusually unenergetic for a young Vox, unlike his kin.
Due to a shortage of skipjack crew in a recent generation on the Arkship he was put into use as skipjack Engineer, given the task to treat injuries and maintain the ship itself, he's been dubbed as "Healing-Claw" during his time on the crew simply for being a outstanding Doctor. Him and the crew were usuall seen around the Tau Ceti system, which was populated by traders and merchants. Most of his time on the skipjack were spent with devising plans on how to subtetly raid the next trader ship or more uncommonly a entire station.
His career ended with a raid on a presumed civilian trade vessel which was a disguised NanoTrasen military vessel, the Vox raiders on board of the NanoTrasen vessel were immediately noticed and the skipjack subsequently boarded where Katiki has been captured. He's been forced to accept a contract to pay up for the damages he and his crew caused in the raids of NanoTrasen trader vessels, his former crew members were placed on other NanoTrasen stations to avoid conflict.
Since then he's been working at NSS Cyberiad, he stil maintained his past knowledge of Medical and Engineering and is commonly seen as a Doctor, Engineer or Roboticist and sometimes even in Command positions. He's not all to happy about his situation of forced labour and is mostly seen as 'moody' by non-kin, yet has an overwhelming attachment to his other kin, especially to another crew member called 'Kakicharakiti'.
Security Records: As almost all his kin, he's a frequent kleptomaniac, many things seem to disappear when he's around. He's been reported to simply pass through rooms, subsequently resulting in the entire room being cleared of all its equipment. As to how this happens is still a mystery.
Medical Records: He has major issues with being transplanted foreign objects not of mechanical nature and would refuse to accept such transplantations even if so would leave him crippled as to maintain 'Voxxidity'. Otherwise he's as physically and mentally healthy as a Vox can get.
Personnel Photo (Appearance text):
He's standing at pretty much the average height for a vox, but a bit taller. His blue quills shine in the light, matching the coluor of his eyes His beak has a little jag in it but looks quite pristine. Only his claws have a few visible burn marks.

Anonymous votes are the worst way to get the attention of coders and maintainers alike.

Let's turn this into a thread where admins and users fight. Users posting = +1, admins posting = -1.

We're getting more and more admins the further time advances, so the chance of breaking the previous record will get more and more slim.
One.

I don't need to read all the posts to figure out the problem. And considering Sec/Antag is unrestricted, nothing will change unless Admins force a change. Players can't change it because there will always be players whos mind wont be changed by other players.

Just wanna hop in, clinical depression isn't even really that psychological as people think, it is just the fact that the brain fails to produce enough dopamine and rather produces more cortisol due to a genetical defect that mostly comes from birth (most times its missing enzymes which control the production). The medication you take are those enzymes that are missing which control the production of cortisol and boost the production of dopamine. You usually won't get rid of that in your lifetime unless a miracle happens.
You can try to be as happy as you want, but when your brain just can't produce the hormones that are in charge of making you happy it's futile, obviously it's better than nothing which is why most times medication is given in combination with therapy.

Maybe IPCs are just not supposed to be gitting gud at combat, at all, ever.
Because how they are balanced they seem more like the race that is supposed to work the peaceful jobs, not the dangerous ones and if accidents happen to them while performing these jobs they can easily be fixed. Tough luck if you get involved in combat.

My vox chef character would like to have a word with you.
Regarding the topic, however, I do think that raising the prices on IPCs or vox would be a good idea. We use karma as a means of increasing roleplay, and those who unlock those races are generally capable of upholding it. The prices are really small for what they are, however, so it somewhat falls flat depending on your player.
I can say for sure that karma is not given to good roleplay in the majority of the times.
Theres tons of players that have vox and IPC or whatever else race unlocked and they do absolutely nothing to even uphold the RP of that species or even general RP.

There is nothing stopping you from just not following space law to the letter and let obvious new players or non-antag antags go even if they through special circumstances technically fall under EoC. Because being an enemy of the corporation is a bit more than just fullfilling a bunch of formal criteria in a law book.
But if someone higher in CoC decides to overrule you on this for some godforsaken reason and decide to perma the assistant who held an emag in his hand for 10 seconds, then he would do the same even after some space law change giving you more leeway.
