+support, seems like an interesting idea and I love how much you've fleshed it out.

Not sure if anyone's said this, but if in-range of people while you've got the social whatever thing going on it should have a chance of stuttering or, like you said, causing your character to freeze up with a message like "[M] looks like they're about to say something, but instead goes wide-eyed and remains silent."

I think kleptomania should be something that comes by default with Vox, hahaha.

Furthermore, I think there should be an option on-selection for each of these illnesses to either declare it or not declare it. If you declare the illness, it gets automatically added to your character's psych profile. If you don't declare it, it won't get added.

As for the whole clown mocking thing, it should be kept in mind that if you decide to select a mental disorder on character creation, you assume full responsibility for and accept all risk inherent to that disability and what having that disability might entail. This isn't real life, this is a game. The mechanics behind these illnesses include a conscious to have them or not, whereas in real life (I'm pretty sure) you can't make such a choice. I think it would be, in its entirety, an IC issue that wouldn't require administrative intervention. If the character feels like the clown's going way overboard, call Sec. This doesn't mean the administrative team is poking fun at people with such illnesses at all, as it's not an issue they even have to be concerned about arising as a result of this feature for the most part.

I don't get how the situation's even remotely uncomfortable, but that's because I'm thinking of it differently.

If anything, how about a 'quirks' system?

I dislike nations the most, with revolution coming in close second.

Nations has me wanting to close my client as soon as the 'liquidation' notification comes up, but I always end up grinning and bearing it regardless. I don't even really know why I bother. It is just a grind to me, something in the way of my next round. How much longer until this ends? How many more people in my department are just going to AFK because they couldn't deal with it any longer?

In Rev at least I get to kill people, hide, evade or just join in a bit of quick happy violence. I couldn't care less about the game-mode, but it's over faster than Nations rounds are.

I didn't pick Heist because despite it's faults I enjoy it and hold out far too much hope to get a sour feeling when I end up in this role but mind you, I haven't gotten it for a few months now. I don't know how much has changed. I just like playing Vox, I suppose. I don't really mind people cheesing it up by stealing or destroying my shuttle with plasma fires or max cap toxin bombs, because it livens it up a little, and ends a round that might've otherwise been less entertaining. Plus, it's always interesting getting into a death battle with someone trying to out-raid the raiders. There's so much stacked against you that the environment and situation alone is interesting enough to make it worth while. I've had too good a time for recent events to change my mind.

I didn't pick Vampire because I've seen some really sick vampire play styles from many different people, and I figure it's a role that, once you get practiced, yields more potential. I've had a decent time as a vampire myself, though I'm not any good. I try to choke my targets out as fast as possible but they always get out their location or who I am if the attack was so spur of the moment that I didn't have an opportunity to disguise myself adequately.

I didn't pick Changeling because of the crazy antics they cause even if they're no good. It's another antagonist role I'm not good at but it's great fun.

I didn't pick Nuke Ops because it's fun trying to hide, escape the station, and desperately fight against people who outgun you by such a large margin. Furthermore, even being a member of a bad ops team is pretty fun because you still get into some good fights and there's not really an end to the number of strategies you can use. I've had a pretty great time as SyndiFox as well. RPing with SyndiCat is always decent fun. There was this one time where SyndiCat was an SST leader who got punished or something and we just talked while the ops team floundered-- until the last guy clutched it and blew the station in a last ditch effort. That was a great round.

I didn't pick Blob because I just don't really care for it. Sometimes people band together and it's a good fight, but mostly it's just a losing battle so I just leave or get myself killed in battle. I've had some interesting RP as a result of blob rounds, though. I don't remember much but there was this one time a Mime saved me while I was in critical condition inside a blob wall. Good times.

Catch you at the next respawn.

I don't have any gripes, I don't feel there's any super serious problems either, outside of player behaviour. Everyone has their squabbles, opinions, w/e and that's alright.

The challenge is catering to the large demographic that plays the server. Lots of variety, so there's always someone unhappy about something, often regardless of what it is.

  4. Hah! Man, that's absolutely wicked. So cool seeing humanized renditions of these guys. Awesome work! I really dig the designs you gave them. The CE's mohawk is just the bomb. Surfer-dude Coffee and Captain Renault, too, though, haha. Excellent. Head of Security (Sergeant) Araneus looks super cool.

  5. I figure the only reasonable ways you can nerf swarmers without going overboard is to adjust the population requirement, amount of times they can reproduce, and then, lastly, git gud

  6. Alright, wicked-- thanks for the response. I had no idea it was removed until a recent round where, just as you said, someone tried to forcibly change my gender and then inquired about it afterward in OOC haha. Guess this request can be disregarded, then, since it was intentional. Sorry about that

  7.

I've always thought it's been possible to do it both via altering a person's UI and surgery-- I'm fairly certain, but I can't really back it up with a screenshot/video or anything

Was the removal of gender reassignment surgery with the intention of making it genetics-exclusive intentional?

Only time I've made a post from scratch in this thread-- but I figure it's worth talking about for this one. I would've posted it as an issue on the GIT but it just didn't feel right in the context. I think it might've been forgotten when the new system was put in as I don't recall there being a changelog notification addressing the removal of the gender reassignment procedure (if we even had changelogs back then, I can't quite recall).

We used to have the gender reassignment procedure back when we had Bay surgery, but now with our current surgical system it appears that the gender reassignment procedure no longer exists. I merely suggest the procedure is added back in, that's about it.

  9. I was wondering who played that character, haha. I thought it was pretty nice of you, making slime pets for people and all. Bubblegum and Slime Shady got a real laugh out of me at the end when I actually saw them, lmao. Excellent work on the artistic depiction as usual, the smile's contagious.

  10.

I thought it was a pretty pleasant read, haha. Well written, that's for sure. You guys are much too serious and, as usual, I've found the comments to be a bigger joke than what the actual joke was to begin with. Suggestion section's been pretty edgy lately.

I'm surprised you remembered that one comment about the Vulpkanin cybernetics thing, haha.

Great work writing this, I thought it was bloody hilarious and that it made a lot of sense in many interesting ways. If all seems lost, this should probably be moved to General so it doesn't get buried and can be enjoyed.

I found the part about the 'subspecies' especially interesting. The way you wrote this certainly incorporates many of the current Vulpkanin players' takes on the species and the way you wove all those aspects together into this one piece was astoundingly well done, lmao.

No regrets. I think it's mint, regardless of what it ends up as.

Ikelos got turned into a Vulpkanin and back earlier, I died fighting the blob after helping fight the cult and bringing back a stranded sec officer from mining, got teleported into sci by a dude who was trying to save everyone

    Randomly prayed 'thank mr skeltal'

    cookies and butterflies ensued

In the end, the scientist teleported all of us to the shuttle and we escaped, my corpse included

    Wicked stuff
