  1. Well, yeah. Pretty much anything is possible code-wise. You could make attempting to teleport anything near a blob spawn psychedelic technicolor pandas who make anyone who looks at them vomit rainbows. The question isn't 'is it possible?' but 'is it a good idea?'
  2. I think the idea is mostly to teleport bombs onto the blob, not yourself.
  3. Just have them get despawned. When they log back in, they pick "Join Game" a second time and end up in a new pod.
  4. One option is to just create say, ten pods, and spawn people in the pods. The pods just have a computer that launches them in response to the code. Have people despawn if they're inside the pods for more then a minute. No SSD. No spawn camping. No bottleneck.
  5. Isn't the whole point of Toxins in the first place to have it explode every round? I thought that was what it was there for.
  6. What about rank priority by the total number of times you've been a newcop? Winning counts as double.
  7. Yeah I made the Mask. I ended up not finishing it for a variety of reasons. It's literally in debug mode on this server, none of the powers are finished, none of the abilities are balanced, I think you can only speak once every five minutes or something. I'm amazed it's on this server. I submitted it to Bay, like a year and a half ago, mainly so that the work I did on the camera networks wouldn't get lost. I have no idea how it made its way here.
  8. You do realize that the mask already does most of that stuff right? Like, it sees through runes and cultists, it can talk to cultists, that kind of thing. It's not finished by a long shot, but it already does the thing.
  9. This seems like better way of doing it without making it really easy that defend yourself before the attacker gets a chance to attack. That is kind of the idea. Blitzing a single person would still be possible though of course (byond has low priority for icon propagation). The main thing that I want this for is crowds. If I walk into the bar and there are twelve people there, a situation that happens paradise sometimes, and something is happening, it would be nice to be able to quickly understand that those three guys over there are fighting, and that guy is choking that other guy to death, but the three people by the kitchen are just spectating, without having to read the chatspam for attack messages and match names to mouse-overs.
  10. So, had a thought today. Might be terrible, thought I'd throw it out there. One of the reasons that stun powers are so amazing in SS13 is that usually you can't tell when someone is going to try to gank you. There's no way of telling. In real life, people telegraph intent through body language. A person approaching you to shake your hand walks differently then someone coming to bash your head in with a rock. We have the concept of intent in SS13. What if we had some kind of visual indicator, a tiny icon or something, when someone wasn't on help intent? It would mean that people would only switch to harm/disarm when they were actually fighting, but that's probably a good thing. This would let you sort out who is actually fighting and who isn't in a crowd. Wouldn't work perfectly out of the box, a lot of weapons will do damage when on help intent, but it might help.
  11. Ahhh, my bad. Working on old data apparently.
  12. Hmm... a cheap tool that just removed entry requirements from a door might be interesting. Like, you hit the door with it and now anyone can go through that door, like the public doors in the hallway or library. You could make it fixable by pulsing the ID control wire. It would be identifiable, but not immediately so, and more subtle then the crypto.
  13. Hah! Oh my god yes! You could use your belt! In the cowboy movies they always bite either a bullet or a belt.
  14. Theoretically, trained surgeons that know what they are doing would also know to not do open heart surgery or reset broken bones without some method of pain relief. Right?
  15. You could just make it take way longer and introduce the possibility of failure. Ghetto surgery already does this so it would only nerf legit surgery done with no anesthesia.
  16. Ask the AI next round. Telecoms scripting can already do this.
  17. The window one requires you to read, which sounds silly, but it's true. If it had icons? Maybe. What I really want to see is clicking on something in the backpack while you have an object selected swaps that tool for the tool you clicked on. Having to manually put them away makes something that should be a one-click process three clicks. Oh! And a hotkey to deselect the active module so you can wirelessly interact with a computer without having to click the bit of space on your selected icon. That would be nice.
  18. The module selection window is awful. The backpack method is much superior. It's not perfect, but it's better then that danged selection window, especially for engineering cyborgs. All cyborgs on paradise already have both huds integrated. I think that most of the stuff with night vision is a bad idea, but taking away the specific flashlights for the cyborgs and giving them toggle-able headlamps would help. Right now mining cyborg on paradise is really awkward, as you can't see the ore box that you're dragging behind you without a light, and you need masons, your satchel, and your drill as your active tools to dig. This means you end up doing a lot of module switching between the masons and the mining lantern while digging, which is an enormous hassle. Humanoid miners can put the lantern in their pocket, which makes things a heck of a lot easier.
  19. It could be done, with shenanigans, that the beakers could be tinted like actual chemistry beakers. If you wanted to spend a long time on it...
  20. And that module is already one of the best ones. Engineering cyborg doesn't need more stuff, and I say that as someone who used to main engineering cyborg almost exclusively.
  21. Don't comdom's already kill innocents?
  22. What if instead of making it harder to test lings, we just make it less perfect. What if you could get false positives? Like, if you're stung by a ling, then for like... ten minutes or so, you'll test positive for ling-ness. They leave enzymes in your blood that make it react the same way that theirs does, but those wear off after a small but significant amount of time. This means that security can't just instantly kill someone who tests positive, because they might be an innocent victim. Instead, they have to hold onto them for a while and confirm the diagnosis. This gives lings a better chance of escape, gives them a way to throw off their pursuers, and also reinforces that healthy paranoia we all know and love, because if you're not a ling, and you test positive, then you have definitely been near someone who is.
  23. Use your fire extinguisher. The poor man's jetpack.
  24. Last two times I played AI, this happened to me as well. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, is that a vampire? No it's just an incompetent Doctor, better check the - aaarghsyndiborginstantdeath! You can turn your core lasers to lethal and set them to kill synthetics. I suspect that this is what you're 'supposed' to do, despite the enormous meta of doing so for no in-game reason. The syndie-borg with it's all access pass to the doors and machinery of the station is also always the best return on investment for telecrystals. It's staggeringly lethal too, especially against civilians. I saw one massacre all of medbay in about a minute and a half. I regularly see them get double-digit numbers of kills. They're cool, and I like them, but they miiight need to be toned down a bit.
