  1. Henlo. I took a full year break from common SS13 after I have burned out and having been on vacation and trips. I am picking Paradise up a bit again. Used to play Katiki, still do. Sometimes play my human Wolf Anderson and other for now skreekrit characters.

  2. I use salicylic acid specifically as a painkiller. If you don't think its useful in its current form on Para then you don't play combat roles too frequently, or have yet to discover how amazing it is when you are beaten to hell and can pop one of these to prevent yourself from moving around at a snails pace temporarily. Its healing effects are mostly irrelevant. Salicylic is nearly useless in Medbay but its excellent in the field. (Snoflek edit: Tetra's medical records actually indicate she has a minor dependancy to salicylic acid because of this) That being said, there is such a variety of ways to heal burn and brute I don't see why its necessary to add a pill that heals burn as ineffectively as salicylic heals brute.

  3. I did once use my arm as a blunt weapon as an IPC, in the stupidest perma escape ever. But I managed to break a window with it.

  4. Yep, that was me. I stand by it in spirit but I think that, specifically for Paradise, the only option that can really "solve" the problem of 24/7 balance complaints is to actually make everyone a reskinned human. It makes for cool and interesting roleplay and gameplay to have IPCs/Vox/Slimes/etc with different physical traits, but when you have a subsection of the population that doesn't care for that and picks for purely mechanical reasons, any fun or interesting things that could come from that goes out the window. There will always be a best. Always.

  5. Author of fastmos, which is an addition to Linda. Our atmos is a few years behind the other code bases, in both features and performance. The throwing mechanic makes it appear faster, but the reality is, its super expensive to do tile by tile calculations, which means that to make it spread faster, we would have to increase the rate at which it calculates all active tiles. So essentially, short of porting Bay or TGs system, this is about as good as we will be able to get. Considering that byond is single threaded, this is extremely unlikely to change in the future. Its a known limitation of our atmospherics system. Anything short of a port of a more modern system will not change this dynamic. As far as the 24 minute thing goes, before fastmos, our atmospherics system was 4 times slower. So um, that would be 100 minutes.
