  1. (Still very much WIP, especially on the design front!) A newborn being of pure energy has come to the station, drawn both by curiosity and the enticing power flowing through its machinery. They desire only to feed, grow, and learn, but the crew may find this interfering with their work... and safety. As creatures of energy, Luminaries are not subject to many physical restrictions, enabling them to travel through the station's electrical fixtures such as lights, computers, and consoles (though only powered and unbroken ones). They are also immune to most forms of attack, and in fact absorb fire and energy projectiles; though disablers, ion rifles, and temperature guns on low settings are effective. Those wishing to stop a Luminary will likely have to use different tactics than a guns-blazing chase, however. On the other hand, Luminaries by default have no directly harmful abilities. Even their melee attack only does stamina damage. They may sometimes unlock deadlier powers as they progress, however... GAMEPLAY Luminary objectives include gathering a certain amount of power from the station's devices and learning more about the things on board the station (via interacting with certain things in certain ways). As it gains more power and knowledge, a Luminary will develop new skills/powers, likely based on what it has been studying/doing. Here are powers as designed so far: Transmission: The Luminary's most basic ability, incorporeal travel via electrical devices. Works similarly to bloodcrawl. Galvanization: Finding a dead creature, the Luminary probes its internal energy pathways and figures out a way to restore the flow, reanimating the body with a surge of energy. Corpses missing hearts or brains receive a couple... improvisations. Reanimating humanoids may count towards a learning objective. A corpse with no owner becomes eligible for ghosts, which creates a new mind with no memory of the body's original life. Such beings may or may not receive objectives (as some kind of reanimated minion, probably), needs discussion. Assimilation: The Luminary feeds itself into various machines and computers around the station, learning how to use/mess with them. For instance, entering an autolathe. Another probable research objective. Network Lance: One of the Luminary's few offensive abilities. Having studied the powernet, the Luminary directs it against a single (or not?) target, causing arcs to strike them from nearby machinery. More machines nearby, more arcs, more damage. Lightning: A non-damaging variant. The Luminary discharges chain lightning, stunning nearby humanoids. Translation: The Luminary gains the ability to pull an incapacitated (or willing?) target into the airwaves with it when it transmits.

  2. Cultists can appoint a leader. The Avatar of the Geometer, The Blade of the Reaper, the Enkindler of Pyr'kaeus. Being appointed leader gives you visibly fancy armour, makes you stand out in cult chat and... that's it. Multiple leaders can be appointed, they are not more powerful when it comes to rune shit, they can be deconverted just the same, it just gives the cultist either a figurehead or a group of 'we know what we're doing trust us' figures for the clueless cultists to rally around. Leaders are appointed by a vote, there can be multiple leaders, and they can easily be replaced if lost. Again, point here is less to buff the cultist directly and more to tackle the tremendous disorganisation inherent to it.

  5. ⌂ Home > Appeals and Complaints > Unban Requests > [Declined] Banned by cyberiad_OS: Ban Appeal for FluffyVulp_SE posted Saturday, 3:56 AM (edited) REASON FOR BAN: The connection has been closed. Reason: "Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. What the fuck." This is a permanent ban. YOUR APPEAL: Okay. So I understand that what I did may be considered excessive to some, but let me tell you that it was not my intention to cause as much damage as I did. Though I can understand why I'm banned, I really don't agree with any of it. For starters why wouldn't anyone check the hidden wall in the brig? Sure, stripping the HOS of all his gear, turning him into a monkey, and tying him up with the cuffs and gag might have been excessive but he could've yelled or something. No need to bring the admin's in for an IC issue. I did not "set the PA to 3 and release the tesla" all I did was attach a remote signaler to the particle accelerator and set it to the most common frequency and waited for someone to activate it. It was just a funny prank, I assure you, and I had every intention to fix it, but security had already taken my rightfully-received all-access ID and stripped my engineering access. So if you think about it, it's their fault for not letting me fix a problem that only I knew the solution to. Why aren't they permabanned? I just think the admins have it out for me, imo. I also did not ERP. I don't see anywhere in the rules that prohibits me from running around the halls using the *squish emote. Is it because I became an obese human instead of a sexy slimegirl? Talk about a double standard. Absolutely nothing erotic was happening except me *squishing around at the speed of sound. All in all I think this weird ban is without merit, and just a sign that the admins don't like me. I've already raised these grievances in general, admin complains, in the official discord server, the unofficial discord server, some other discord servers, and among a bunch of friends who were also permabanned. I was also talking on discord with another player during that round and they said that what I was doing was hilarious. So I think I should be let back onto the server because I like it here, and also because I spice things up. I promise not to tie the HOS up with fetish gear and leave him in a slowly depressurizing room again. :) edited Sunday at 8:25 AM by FluffyVulp_SE ------------------------------ Part time wage slave. THE ENLIGHTENED GAMER COALITION NOTHING IS TRUE, EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED re: Banned by cyberiad_OS: Ban Appeal for FluffyVulp_SE posted Today, 3 minutes ago Holy fucking shit. Is this for real? Please tell me I'm not the only one reading this. When we say "appeal in your next life" we did NOT mean willingly transfer your brain into monkey. We meant it more like "Don't ever come back because holy shit, what the fuck." You've been banned like, 8 times, each one more spectacular than the last. Honestly, if we didn't permaban you now you might've escalated to breaking into our servers and smashing the hardware itself. APPEAL DECLINED this is a work of satirical fiction. all references to persons and unban requests, accepted or declined, are purely coincidence.

  7. A shift had been going on for long without a captain, apparently things hadn't been running very smoothly. There had been some major power issues on the station, and CentComm had apparently reported detecting unidentified life signs on the station. I arrived, filling the role as Captain Iro Marik. I received my equipment from the Head of Personnel, who was acting Captain at the time, I requested that the CE got the station's power back to normal, and that the HoS sends security out to find the source of the unidentified life signs. CentComm only said we didn't know what the source was, as far as I knew we had no reason to believe it was harmful, so I requested that security only shoots what it finds if they pose a threat. A short while after, two people suddenly appeared on the bridge, Sheshi Skalas and Eerihawk. They immediately started spreading alien resin on the floor, I didn't think much of it honestly. Weirder things have happened on the cyberiad, I just let them out since they weren't interested in taking anything. I honestly thought it was just science messing around with something which caused them to teleport there. Shortly after that though, CentComm informed us that the lifesigns caused a big "blip", immediately after that, a member of security reported spotting a xenomorph "Alien Praetorian" The security member stated that it didn't seem hostile, so I insisted they do not fire or harm them until we're sure they're a threat. They were then found in Medbay, along with Seshi and Eerihawk. Despite the HoS favoring a "shoot the unidentified aliens immediately" approach, they tried to contain the situation and keep civilians out. I came to see things and try to negotiate with the aliens. Apparently, Seshi and Eerihawk were "claimed" by them, and could then speak their language. The aliens could telepathically communicate with me, and I could also communicate with them as long as I used a megaphone. They declared they wanted peaceful relations, and so long as neither they or anyone claimed by them was hurt, they meant no harm. I invited them to the bridge to negotiate, and fax centcomm. CentComm informed me that all of their attempts to study alien evolution have ended with "catastrophic failure" so they wanted us to study them, meanwhile the crew was growing unsettled and wanted us to kill the aliens. The HoP was also providing us with a scary amount of weaponry... I had ordered HoS to ensure their safety, the HoS wasn't a fan of what was happening but they still complied. The blueshield and RD also did not like this at all, but I kept negotiating. The aliens informed me that they wanted to find their empress a home, one with "furry hosts" so they could breed. While the rest of the crew were thinking they wanted Vulpkanins to eat, I thought of offering monkeys. Luckily, that is what they meant. I thought NT could easily provide them with a station and monkeys. The crew's riots were steadily increasing, and so was command's distrust in me. The CE had constructed the BSA under NT's request in record time, and security recommended using it on our guests. We had also received an enemy transmission from the spider clan's Grandmaster Chang. He offered 100 thousand credits should we kill the xenos, however I was sure NT would offer more if we were able to study them and make peace. I didn't want to go against NT, so I insisted security kept them safe while the RD studied them. The RD, very unhappy with the situation performed tests on the hunters, drawing blood, giving them alchohol, ect. The Praetorians then informed me that their Empress had arrived on the station, in Xenobiology. We continued experiments and negotiations there, as I went to fax centcomm our findings, command was very displeased with me as the riots grew. Eventually they came to a vote of no confidence, all of them voting me out of the role of captain, and demanded my head. As that happened, Grandmaster Chang had sent another transmission. His spider clan was going to attack to kill the aliens. I thought I was a goner, having to deal with the aliens, Chang, and the rest of the crew. As it turns out, the abundance of weapons the HoP had were due to the efforts of cargo, they had been stocking up on weaponry since the discovery of the unidentified life signs. The crew, after declaring mutiny, formed a stronghold and branched off from NT to create Cargonia with the weapons. I knew my only hope would be the aliens, who I was still on good terms with. Cargonia wanted my head and the aliens dead, so did Chang, but due to miscommunication, the spider clan and Cargonia were too busy fighting each other to reach us. I hurried to the aliens, watching crew members burn as they fought the spider clan. At this point I didn't care, they wanted my head and I was probably getting a peace prize if I managed to get the aliens out. I had already called the shuttle beforehand, I informed the aliens of what happened and how we needed to escape. They vowed to protect me, and so we made our way to the shuttle. Chang didn't expect us to have a stronghold as strong as Cargonia, and so his forces were defeated. The crew desperately wanted me and the aliens dead, and with Chang gone they made their way to me. Several members of security blasted me with shotguns, I barely managed to make it to the shuttle. I had told the crew that those who didn't want to hurt the aliens were welcome to escape with us, and a few came peacefully. The security team was unable to kill me or the Aliens. The Praetorians were too strong. And so I was on the shuttle, collapsed. I uttered one last "See you later fuckers" before an alien hunter helped me up, I was somehow not about to die. Thus, Chang's forces were defeated, the station nation of Cargonia was left behind, and the captain managed to escape to CentComm with his new found alien allies. The End.
