Pandemic/Plague Inc IN SPESS

What if there was a side antag like a blob that is a player-controlled disease, a la Pandemic or Plague Inc, but with player-controlled humans.

A disease would spawn with a randomly selected person infected. For this selection, people who have been around others recently would be preferred more, more isolated people and people with protective gear like airtight suits, biosuits, and sterile masks would be selected less, and dead people would not be selected at all.

The player controlling the disease can look around freely, like an observer, but cannot interact with it beyond mutating their virus like a player playing said games would. Uninfected, infected, and dead people would be highlighted as being such.

The disease spawning would not be announced, the only way to know if a disease has spawned would be to actually find an infected patient.

Curing the disease would be a lot more time consuming. Health scanners would show the cure as '?????' until one is found. The virologist or CMO would have to actually look for a cure and distribute it, rather than just scan an infected person with a health scanner and announcing that the cure is orange juice or salt.

There wouldn't be any clear objectives for the disease, it's permitted to do whatever it wants besides ERP (I'm sure someone could manage to do that as a disease), blatant metagaming, etc. like a traitor with hijack. It can heal everyone, kill everyone, or turn everyone in to clowns. How many non-virus-immune people the disease infected and how many non-virus-immune people the disease killed would be shown at the end of the round.

Also, a tator virologist with hijack could buy a bottle containing a player controlled disease that cannot mutate any beneficial effects, and is encouraged to kill or incapacitate as many people as possible, but is not bound to the virologist in any way. It's also given a few buffs, making a disease spawned this way more likely to successfully kill a majority of the crew.

I have a feeling this could die off quickly because most sick people will run off into medbay and quarantine themselves before it spreads, as soon as they see symptoms. The viruses would need to not show symptoms but still be infectious so it has time to spread before patient zero runs to medbay.
