Shop Owner - Like trader except has a shop somewhere on the station.. sells stuff..

 

you mean a guy who has a hard time keeping his shit together befor clowns and civilians raid him?

 

at least i would have a excuse to fortify a room every shift against greytiders and shitcurity.

do useful things like fixing telecoms if anything happens to it and script telecoms so everyones job title shows up next to them.

 

or just make the ends of all radio sentences end with ''nya~''

 

i still want my diagnostician karma job.

I've always thought that something Cybernetic based would be nice. A lab jointed between Research and Medical, much like genetics, which would be able to produce prosthetic limbs as to not have to go through the hassle of bothering robotics for them. And possibly, on the research side, producing augmentations.

 

Of course, these augmentations could be minor things, like HUDs implanted into the eyes ("My vision is augmented" *sunglasses slide down*). Of course, this would make people viable to EMP, or malfunctions. (Eyes take too much damage, augmentation malfunctions, dealing brain damage/blinding until repaired).

 

The research side could also be dedicated to building empty IPC shells when positronics come available through research, another way for players to get back into the round. Much like Diona Nymphs.

Making new IPCs from scratch, thus allowing people who didn't buy IPC in the karma shop, would probably never happen.

Ideas-

 

Tajaran Handler: Keeps catslaves happy

 

Kennel Worker- Has a little office with an animal pen. Babysits all the baby corgis. Gives out puppies.

 

Auto Technician- Makes Cars!

 

Secretary- Updates Medical Records, because no one ever does that

 

Blood Technician- Operates a blood bank. Blood for the Blood tech!

 

Recreation Guy- Stays in holodeck, shoots people with lasers, wears shorts

 

Tease- Wears sexy clothes, fancy collectible hats, doesn't do anything else

I've done it a couple times. It always works great for me. Just have to pick a good person. And if it were karma, that would tell you that they have some experience at lease.

the captain doesnt need an assistant, and if we assign one ICly then that's his/her doing

taking an Roleplay thing and make it karmalocked feels wrong

 

but i guess that's how blueshield came into live. a captain allways hired a bodyguard untill it was an own job.

i dont play this game for so long that i could know the origins of this jobs.

 

i like the Cybernetic job. doesn't even have to be karma. someone who makes replacement limbs for medical would be nice. it is not always, but sometimes a real struggle to get some libs from robotics. mostly because robotics are egocentric asshats who only care about their very own, DNA locked phazon.

When I hire one, it's a supercop private-army of sorts. "Go figure out the rogue sec!", "Go oversee the cloning of the Blueshield!", "Search the damned RD!", "Card the shitty AI!" etc.

 

Not exactly legal.

 

But yeah, these rounds when I have a person I can trust... I can have much more done as the captain.
