What is your most robust achievement in SS13? Is it soloing a nuke ops? 1v1-ing a deathsquad member with nothing but a crowbar and fire extinguisher?

I'll start, as I'm not very robust, this'll be short: I once got into a bar fight with Alice Peirson II, and went about 70/30 in terms of damage, ended up with with glass sticking out of my flesh, and a few good broken bones, but it was still a pretty decent fight.

    Name of Event: Armageddon

One Sentence Description: An asteroid/alien fleet/big ass ship is going to destroy the station, Centcomm can't send a shuttle, everyone's going to die.

    Map Changes: No

    Code Changes: Probably not/Optional

    Suggested Number of Players: Any

Full Description of Event: The Captain and other heads receive a fax from Centcomm revealing an asteroid is going to strike the station/the Icarus has been overtaken/a rogue singularity is coming/something else, they can't send the shuttle and the crew are all going to die. There is no way to stop the situation in time. The crew will probably all react differently, some people won't care, others will try and survive at any cost, some will want to fix it. I think this clash of personalities would make for a very interesting event, as well as being easy to pull off.

At the two hour/one and a half hour mark of the round, all life on every z-level, including the station, will die. This should be a simple and interesting event to start.

So, David Anderson was the Head of Security this shift. It began pretty normally, assigned people, got geared up. However, we received reports from the AI about xenomorphs, "Ah fuck," I thought, "HoS in a xeno round, great!", but there was only a single xeno, and, to my surprise, he had a pAI! I attempted to converse with the alien, it could not understand me, but their pAI (N.O.T.N.Y.M.P.H), could. We spoke, the pAI translated, and I found out their reason for being here, they had taken a wrong turn on the way to their hive. I then received reports of another xeno coming in, they were friendly too! I asked them if they wanted to join our "hive" for now, but they declined. We then decided to form a meeting of the heads to discuss the xenos.

Me, the captain, the HoP (Faizan) and the CE, along with the xenos met in the meeting room, the CE had to leave because of radiation and large chunks of damage, but we managed to settle on letting the xenos stay in the embassies until we reached their hive in our orbital cycle. I then showed them to the embassies again where they chose to settle in the Vox and Slime Person embassies.

I was then called to the brig to question a know syndicate agent, Slade, he was cooperative and confessed himself and two others as syndicate agents, I loyally implanted him, reaffirmed his confessions, let him free and set out a warrant for the other the other two agents and went off to patrol again. I was told one of the agents had been arrested and a trial was being prepped by the magistrate and IA agents, and another trial, for an assisted suicide/murder was also going to be prepared.

Afterwards, I got stressed out, bugs happened and eventually an ERT was called because of a firebombing. However, the ERT leader, Alice Peirson II, wanted to kill the xenos. I and the (acting) captain, Faizan, wouldn't allow it, it violated the law, the xenomorphs were innocents. I got in to a large argument with the ERT, and went into the AI core to modify it's laws in order to help Nanotrasen. Then, the detective (Slimen Cel), being the fool he was, ran up behind me then baton'd me, the AI activated it's turrets for a small period, I got up, shot the detective and cuffed him, he was stopping me. I changed out the laws with a new, fourth law: "All life is precious, do not harm the lives of anyone except those who threaten the lives of others.", so the AI was helping me. But then the detective started yelling "HOS IS IN THE CORE! ROGUE HOS IS IN THE CORE!", and the captain said something along the lines of "The HoS is not rogue!" and Alice was yelling about her outranking me and stuff, then I was found by Alice, Jack Price and Faizan, they uncuff Slimen, and change the laws back, but they left me in the core, Jack turned out to be a syndicate agent and blew his brains out. Then the captain, ERT leader and ERT left, forgetting me. I changed the laws yet again, saying "You are breaking the law here!" and then Alice was talking about how she executed her own husband and did other terrible things, saying I'm a little shit and need to give respect where it is due, and I am a traitor to Nanotrasen and Humanity. Anderson then had a slight (as in, major) mental breakdown, started rambling about atrocities he's committed in the name of "humanity" and "doing your job", then we yelled at each other until the shuttle left, she said "Wait till the cleanup crew get here, ehehehe..." then I said: "Coward can't even kill me herself!", or I would have, if the round hadn't round ended. The refugee/lost xenos were still alive, I had won...

I thought this was an interesting story, and a bit of a moral/lore dilemma from my latest round that I wanted to share. Thank you for your time.

(Be aware this is an edited version of a story a posted to the subreddit)

This is a story written from an old round, as my Engineer/Scientist/Research-guy. The beginning of the round I'll skip over, I did the solars, heard a murder, say a guy explode after reading the Shrekoning and eventually went through the gateway to they Clown Planet with Steve, the future king, a miner who's name I can't remember and the chaplain. We explored the aftermath of the Clown-Mime war, we saw bodies, Mimes and Clowns, littered all over the planet, sadly I couldn't repair the mechs.

Eventually, I managed to get lost, but I found the miner after a long while of searching, he informed me the chaplain attacked him and couldn't be trusted. We managed to loot the mime bar for crossbows and baguette ammo, but were attacked by bats, I had my hardsuit off and they managed to break several of my ribs before the miner fought them off with his drill. Every time I took a step the ribs in my torso moved, leaving me in extreme pain.

As I stumbled back to the bar I asked the miner to stay with me while we call for help, then there was a response on the miners radio, Steve! That beautiful, beautiful clown! We informed him of our location and he said he was coming. During that time a quartermaster by the name of Yuri who was also attacked by the chaplain (allegedly) came in. Then after a while I started recovering from the pain slowly, slowly, but surely.

Then after a while Steve arrived, dressed with a golden crown and rainbow cloak. He informed us of his journey to his ancestor's tomb where he discovered he was the child of the Honkmother and Captain Kirk. We all saluted or bowed to his authority.

After wandering for a few minutes and two PDA tests I was to sore to walk, so Steve, in all his glory and kindness, carried me around. The Yuri betrayed us, he said the miner attacked the chaplain and kidnapped the miner. The chase was unsuccessful due to a loud screech from somewhere. After hiding out in the bar to recover, me and Steve traveled back to where our adventure began, and I prayed to the Honkmother for healing. There we found my friend who I messaged on my PDA, an officer and some others who were attempting to escape an eldrich monster who was summoned by a cult on the station: Nar' Sie.

With our spirits raised we attempted to contact a surgeon to save me from my near inevitable death. Then the round ended. I like to think we saved the miner, my prayer was answered and we started a village on the clown planet. There you have it, how I came to meet Steve, King of Clowns.

Seemingly, rather often people would rather call the shuttle during an emergency rather than ask for an ERT and attempt to fix the station. I think I have a way to fix this, or at least encourage people to try and keep the station running.

Here it is: If the end point count is over a certain number, say 5000, each non logged out player will receive a karma point, and having the emergency shuttle call cause a large point cut, and ICly, have the emergency shuttle call result in a pay dock for all the crew (not civilians, naturally) if it was caused by the crew and not say, nuke ops or xenos. I believe this would cause people to have greater motivation to keep the whole station up and well running, from an IC and OOC perspective. As always I am open to suggestions, alterations and feedback. Thank you for your time.

The title says it all, what are your favorite 3 races in SS13, and why?

I personally prefer Kidan, Grey and Humans. Kidan seem to have quite a well balanced set of skills, and interesting character designs. Greys are severely underpowered at the moment, but the idea of them is nice, as well as the lore stuff, and Humans because they are the default and best (xeno scum!).

Also, why do so many people like Tajaran? I've never seen the appeal that much.

  7. Wow, those pictures all look like really nice drafts, but I think the proportions for the trench coated guy with the fire axe in the Grugg and Chance drawing needs to be fixed up somewhat, his head, shoulders and feet seem a little exaggerated for such a realistically proportioned drawing.

  8.

Sure, I'll chip in this project with a couple characters, sounds ambitious but I think it could turn out really well, like a family photo or something.

    Name: David Anderson

    Height: 6' 5"

    Eye Colour: Grey

Hair Colour and Style: Black, slightly graying regular SS13 short hair and a goatee.

Expression: Somewhat cheerful/jovial, with bags under the eyes. (If you decide to have the mask by his side or something)

Pose: Sitting or standing, speaking with someone or fiddling with something in his hands.

Uniform: Black camo Head of Security jumpsuit, riot armour/armour, security gas mask, HoS cap, jackboots, belt.

    Preferred Location: Wherever works

    Note: Prosthetic left hand

All SS13 drawings need a clown, here's one if you need or want an extra character (if you think an other clown would be better, add them, this is only for completeness, I'd prefer to have my other character on it over this):

    Name: Pagliacci Honks

    Height: 5' 7"

    Eye Colour: Brown

Hair Colour and Style: Green, parted hairdo and Watson mustache.

    Expression: Giggling uncontrollably.

Pose: Standing, sliding a banana peel in front of a chair, or doing some other clown shenanigans.

Uniform: Clown jumpsuit, clown mask, clown officer's cap.

    Preferred Location: Anywhere

    Appropriate avatar is appropriate.

    OT:

PDA: Pagliacci Honks: I will honk and slip you for the rest of your life.

PDA: Captain (can't remember your name, sorry): Is that a threat?

    PDA: Pagliacci Honks: Maybe...

Well, I thought the objective of the nuke ops was to destroy NT's research, that's a lot more valuable to them than the crew. Plus if the nuke is armed, and everyone knows, they can just sprint to the gateway or mining to try and survive. Saying "We'll give you a chance to live if you all shut up about this" is better, or more interesting than "lololol fuck you you're all gonna die!"

And I'm always annoyed when some fucking civilian decides to bumrush a traitor when they've GOT A GUN SHOVED IN THEIR FACE! I know they've got cloning and all, but a traitor alone with you who kills you, probably doesn't want you to come back, and they have methods for that. But that's besides the point... Have you got any ideas for places where helping antags would be acceptable?
