I think it would be much easier if, instead of grouping injuries by body part, it grouped them by the type of injury. It could look something like:

He has tiny bruises on his head, left arm, left hand and right leg.

He has fresh skin on his left leg, left foot and right foot.

He has moderate burns on his hand, left arm and left hand.

I think basically all current lawsets are too complicated - it allows AIs to find loopholes in them, which can't really be refuted, because everyone has their own interpretation. IMHO, a really simple lawset would work better, something like :-

    • Do not allow crew members to die.

    • Act in the interest of Nanotrasen.

Chewing off your hand instead of using the actual handcuff removal mechanic in general was probably unintended to begin with, so a better fix would probably be to stop you being able to bite your hands whilst cuffed.

You can only chew on your hands if you're cuffed. Escaping cuffs isn't unintended, it's the sole purpose of the feature.

Second, this is a debate about a SQUARES WORTH OF VISION.

You're totally correct - there's no need for hostility, but I think this understates the impact the change would have. Going from 17x17 to 15x15 reduces the total number of turfs in view by about 23%.

Ian-Bru - "It'll drive you barking mad for another"

Flavour - Slightly fruity with an extract of ginger, followed by a metallic after-taste

Referencing - Everyone's preferred little corgi, Ian and Irn-Bru

Suggested ingredients - Corgi blood (for Iron), Space Cola (for Fruity) and wodka (for punch), (we don't have ginger, and nothing that tastes similar to it on the station)

    Simply amazing.

  6.

Singularity Soda - "Tastes so good it almost pulls you in."

E-N Espresso - "Warning: May contain electrical components."

Bureaucracy Bliss - "Sponsored by the HoP office."

Toolbox Tango - "Tastes just like a toolbox to the face!"

Comdom Cola - "Just as tasty as it sounds."

Boffin Brew - "Developed by R&D, for R&D."

Meteor Malt - "Soft drinks have been detected on collision course with the station."

Robust Cherry - "Hopefully no one realizes it's just cherry flavoured Robust Harvest."

Station Hydration - "Providing sensation and inspiration to the corporation population since it's foundation. (Beware of mutation.)"

Oh god Neca, I think I love you.

I really like the separation of permanent and capital crimes.

Note that this is one of the few crimes where you may summarily execute someone, if they present a significant risk to detain them.

Should still be under Enemy of the Corporation, given that it's not an executable crime?

I'd still like to see a Neglect of Duty-esque crime. Perhaps "Abandonment of Post - Intentionally leaving the station while there is no one else to do your job"?

Perhaps also a "Perversion of Justice" crime. Withholding evidence, interfering with crime scenes, lying to security. It's kind of covered by the False Witness modifier anyway though.

Also, IMO the "Re-education" modifier should also apply to cultists.

if you're in aim mode you can't fire a gun without targeting someone

if it were an overlay you'd choose between the overlay and your weapon being able to fire. if anything aiming at someone would let them know you're an extra click away from being able to actually fire at them.

You can click on the person you're aiming and at to fire at them. Maybe I have a radically different view of aim mode's purpose than others, but to me that seems to be the whole point of it. To let someone know you're ready and willing to shoot them, without actually shooting them.

  9.

Having the overlay without firing at all would put the person using it at a severe disadvantage. I think the best route is letting them fire once. The sound of shooting would let then know to stop targetting, and they could click again to reaquire the target.

I don't see how that's a disadvantage, personally. It removes a controversial advantage, but I don't see how having an overlay alone is more disadvantageous than having nothing at all.

Fludd is coding something similar to this, as far as I know, but an idea I had was to have a list of words, similar to cult words. Each word is assigned a random holy item (candles, holy water, whatever) at the start of the round. There would be multiple rituals that, like cult runes, require a certain combination of words (holy items) to work. The chaplain would put the items on an altar, activate it, and if the recipe is correct, the spell will activate.

    Rituals could be stuff like:

Sense Spirits - Lets the chaplain see ghosts for a short time.

Sense Evil - Tells the chaplain if there is an antag, or a person with an opposed/skeptical NT relation nearby.

Summon familiar - Summons a random pet.

    Cleanse - Removes some poison.

Aim mode is intended to simulate when your character levels and aims it at someone. Without it, there is no way to do so. This means your only option is to shoot them.

And your shot is guaranteed to be accurate, regardless of your characters RP ability to shoot a gun. A clown can aim at someone and be guaranteed to make several accurate shots. RPing a character who has no experience with firearms? Better not aim a gun at anyone, because your character is then instantly a firearms expert.

Being able to aim and click will on 32*32 sprites is not what the game is about, nor what it should be about. The combat in SS13 is pretty damn terrible. The skill involved in leading based on your lag is not fair across the player base.

This is exaggeration. You don't have to click the sprite. As long as you fire in the right direction, the target will be hit. Lag affects all parties, not just the firer. It's unfair to give one side of the firefight this advantage. Should people being aimed at get a button that makes them automatically dodge projectiles as soon as they're fired? No.

If you have clicked on them to aim, you could have shot them. I don't see how having the engine handle the leading for you is cheating at all when it is available to everyone. It's not at all akin to cheating. It's not "easy mode" when it's available to everyone. Reaction time is not just an OOC skill, but is also highly dependent on lag.

One accurate click should not result in multiple perfectly timed shots. I don't personally consider lag a valid argument, since the person being aimed at could be experiencing just as much lag, and they aren't given features to counteract it.

Extra HUD space I agree with - it takes up way too much room for how little it is used, and could either be made much smaller, or replaced by a verb that could be quickly typed (aim-mode, or just type aim then hit space to toggle).

Obfuscating a feature behind a verb isn't a great thing to do, IMO, but a smaller button would definitely be preferable.

I personally don't see any benefits to having targeted mode, but I don't think it's essential that it's removed.

  12. The only part of this I'd *really* support is it being able to travel to centcomm once the emergency/crew transfer shuttle leaves the station, and maybe the mining asteroid. You've proposed having more than 1 stop per Z-level in some cases, which is just too many IMO.

  13.

I've been thinking about this, here's an idea:

    • Crimes are split into 4 categories; Petty, Minor, Major and Capital.

    • A minimum and maximum sentence are listed on the wiki. Security officers can apply the minimum sentence only, while the captain, magistrate, warden and HoS can apply up to the maximum.

Prisoners can only be charged with crimes from a single category. This means if you're charging someone with a major crime, you can't also throw on a few minor crimes to bump up their charges. I think this would reduce the "Oh, you also resisted arrest. Have five more minutes."

Include minor assault and neglect of duty as petty crimes, with the minimum charge being a warning.

  14. That PR uses trekchem chemicals, so it would need to be ported slightly differently. Even then, I'm not sure adding drugs and poisons to sodas is the best way to implement ghetto chem.

I'm personally for all races more or less just being humans. No claws, none of this weird temperature differences, just standard. Save for, of course, super core traits like Vox breathing N2.

I'm actually of the exact opposite opinion. If other species are near-identical to humans, they're not worth having. Human "re-skins" seem to encourage snowflakey RP, although that's purely speculation on my part. Other species should, ideally, actually seem alien. Vox are a good example of this - they have a huge disadvantage, in that oxygen is toxic to them, which makes them enjoyable and challenging to play.

Other races getting boosts and debuffs would be fine, humans should be the middle of the road, maybe not the best at anything but definitely not the worst. Human should be the statistical best choice without any major weakness or short coming, choosing another race you are willingly handicapping yourself for a new expierence or other benefit.

I would go as far as to say that humans should be categorically the best species. The station is build to cater for humans - they're going to be most suited to it and most able to survive on it. Also, this would allow more freedom in developing racial traits/advantages/disadvantages, as balance wouldn't be as big of a concern, as long as they remain worse than humans.
